candidates are here in the silver state getting ready for the big day. 13 action news reporter david schuman joins us with more on how a ted cruz rally in pahrump got a little out of hand-- today. david? lesley...authorities had to remove a man from the rally for yelling and interrupting the texas senator. take a listen to what he was saying. "i need a cop here, i want to file charges." he kept screaming that he wanted to talk to a police officer and file charges. not a minute later...the man was being escorted out as the crowd chanted cruz's name. cruz responded to the incident with a bit of humor saying "i didn't know they allowed bernie sanders supporters in nevada." it was a small blip during an otherwise standard rally. cruz touted his conservative credentials and expressed optimism about his primary finishes so far. he won in iowa..beating donald trump...finished third in new hampshire...and in a virtual tie with marco rubio for second

republican frontrunner donald trump will also be in town ahead of the republican caucus. he will be holding a rally at the south point arena tomorrow night at 7 p-m but not everyone is pleased with his campaign message. military veterans will be out in protest-- flying banners that read - "vets to trump: stop hate speech against muslims." this is video from from friday in south carolina during one of his speeches. those veterans were removed from the rally. some sad news to pass along tonight. state senator debbie smith-- has died... a year after doctors started treating her for a malignant brain tumor. the sparks lawmaker died today in reno. she was just 60 years old. smith was first elected to the state assembly in 2000 and won a seat in the senate in 2012. she missed some of the 2015 legislative session after undergoing surgery to have a brain tumor removed. smith leaves behind a husband

a bicyclist involved in an early morning crash-- has died. the 59-year-old was struck by an off road vehicle --- on saint rose parkway near the i-15 north ramp. the driver had overcorrected his polaris after hitting the cyclist and rolled the vehicle. he was taken to u-m-c- but is expeced to be okay he's now being investigated for driving under the influence. one person is in serious condition--tonight -- after a hit and run accident. metro telling us this happened around 2 this morning on charleston near maryland parkway. the 64-year-old victim wasn't using the crosswalk at the time he was hit. the driver took off but was followed by a witness. metro caught up to the suspect... that person was arrested for felony hit and run....and suspiscion of d-u-i. now for the latest developments on a deadly shooting here in the valley police have arrested this man omary talley. he's accused of killing two women friday morning during a fight near the miracle mile shops.

identified as 27-year-old melissa yvette mendoza and 27-year old jennifer margarita chicas. one of the women died at the scene. the other tried to drive herself and a man away from the scene. they ended up at the cosmopolitan. that's where the she died from her injuries. las vegas fire crews were called out to a blaze at the "la fiesta apartments" this morning. that's near owens and lamb. officials say the fire started in a unit on the second floor. thankfully - crews were able to get everything under control before the fire spread. no injuries have been reported. but-- 2 adults and 2 children are displaced. we're told there's 20 thousand dollars in damage. the cause of the fire is still under investigation. another fire broke out overnight, destroying a family's home. it happened around 12-thirty this morning near arville and flamingo. clark county firefighters say a stove caught fire - and then spread throughout the apartment. firefighters were able to knock it out quickly.

kalamazoo county prosecutor you don't ever expect anything like this to ever happen anywhere yet along in kalamazoo, this is just the most awful thing ever. the suspect, jason dalton, an uber driver taken into custody hours after the final shooting. in a statement the company says "our hearts and prayers are with the families of the victims of this devastating crime".. it's a crime not just heartbreaking but baffling for police and dalton's neighbors. sot - chad landon, shooter's neighbor: he was a quiet guy never had any problems, the cops had never been out to his house before. elizabeth hur tag baffling because uber says the 45- year-old passed a background check and police confirm he has no criminal history. we're told he could be in court as early as tomorrow. elizabeth hur abc news, new york new information tonight-- in the battle between the f-b-i and apple. the county government agency- that owned the i-phone at the heart of legal battle between
