shooting over the weekend.. and the suspect is still on the run. only on action news.. we're hearing from the suspect's widow. police say 60-year old heriberto diaz marcial was shot to death while walking home from work saturday near lake mead and marion. officers also think he was robbed. 01:29-17:07:10 i think i'm going to lose my son. i don't know.. he's my baby. the family has a go fund me to help with medical bills. if you'd like to help, we put the link on our website, ktnv.com an uber driver faced a judge in michigan earlier today, accused in a series of deadly shootings while on the job. today, a customer is speaking out, after he and his family got a ride from the suspect, jason dalton. derek and his wife were visiting kalamazoo, michigan with their inlaws. police arrested dalton just 20- minutes after their ride. derek says he even talked with dalton about the shootings. (derek/ uber customer) "i said, 'you're not the shooter, are you?' and he said, 'no.' and i said, 'are you sure?' and he said, 'no, i'm just tired, i've been driving for 7 hours.'" again, dalton has no known criminal history and passed an extensive background check by uber.

deadly accident involving a man riding a bicycle. nhp just gave 13 action news these images of the crash. the victim has been identified as 58-year-old karl vanderwyk. according to investigators.. 28- year old mark obermeyer was driving an off-road vehicle on st. rose parkway near the 15 when he hit cyclyist. obermeyer then overrcorrected and rolled the vehicle. he's now behind bars facing multiple charges including driving under the influence. a death investigation is underway at a prison, after an inmate suddenly dies. that inmate is john silva. he died yesterday in his cell at three lakes valley conservation camp, in indian springs. silva was booked back in 20-13, and serving time for driving under the influence. an autopsy will take place to figure out why he died. apple continues to fight a court order to unlock an iphone used by one of the san and now.. the director of the f-b-i is weighing in. james comey is defending the fbi's demands. in a blog and press release..

< that text? call? or instant message. whether you are behind the wheel or not, your phone demands your attention. and even though we know we shouldn't? all too often we pick up that mobile device while driving. now? a new study shows how dangerous a distraction your phone can be while you are driving. virginia tech researchers installed video cameras inside cars to find out what drivers were doing right before they got into an accident. the verdict? in two- thirds of car crashes, the driver was visibly distracted? and cell phones were the biggest culprit. texting while driving led to a more than three-fold risk of a crash. dialing a call? a 12-fold risk. by comparison, eating at the wheel only led to roughly double the risk. cell phones aren't the only culprit, of course. other distractions - for instance, being angry or crying at the wheel - also made a driver more likely to crash. but few things are more preventable than a cell-phone linked accident. so when you're driving? keep
