the team planned to light this abanonded house on fire.. however... they say... the wind was too strong. and rather than accidently starting a fire elsewhere.... they chose to practice... other skills instead. an update on a story we first reported as breaking news last week. we're learning more about what led-up to a deadly shooting on the las vegas strip. police now say it started with a fight in the parking garage of the miracle mile shops. that's when omar talley pointed a gun at a car with three people inside. 2 people were killed in the shooting. a third person was injured but is expected to recover. in less than an hour donald trump takes the stage at the south point arena ahead of tomorrow's republican

reporting live lesley marin 13 action news. republican ben carson is holding a private town hall meeting for people in sun city anthem. that starts at 7 in the theater at independence hall. 13 action news will be there as well to bring you highlights. republican marco rubio has been all over northern nevada ahead of tomorrow's caucuses. this is video from his event last night at texas station in north las vegas. rubio is holding rallies today in elko.. reno and minden. right now... trump hotel employees are meeting with culinary union.... that represents them... trump was invited to attend that meeting... there's no word. showed up. that union and the employees are planning a protest tomrrow.... in front of "the trump hotel". union leaders say... management is fighting the efforts of employees.... to unionize. they say.... the company has refused to bargain with workers.... instead tying up the process.... in a lengthy legal battle.

it was the staff that found her body sunday morning-- they say browns body was found at the bottom of a laundry chute. they found it just before three that morning. we were able to talk with browns family today-- and according to them-- this is kalli medina brown and her husband. police are still investigating how her body got at the bottom of the laundry chute. the hotel is 34 stories high-- and the tallest hotel in downtowns fremont street. a spokesperson for the hotel and casino released a statement-- it said in part-- we are saddened by the unfortunate incident that took place at the d las vegas. but it said they couldnt comment any further. the death has not yet been ruled a homicide-- police are investigating it as a suspicious death-- until the coroner can find out more information. live in downtown-- mk-- 13an. and.... another body was found this morning...

say... it appears the person died of natural causes.... and... had been dead for a while. we're also waiting.... for the coroner's report.... on this case. right now.. police are looking for the gunman accused of shooting up a home near eastern and harmon. witnesses say there were shell casings were all over the street.. and the home has several bullet holes in it. thankfully no one was hurt. but neighbors who heard the gunfire say it was frightening. roque ramirez, heard gunshots 6:16:51-6:16:59 "we didn't know what it was. it sounded like someone hammering on something and it was enough to wake both my wife and i up." police had the area temporarily blocked off during the investigation. anyone with infromation is encouraged to call police. new at six.. you'll soon get another chance to talk with local police officers over a cup of coffee. another 'coffee with a cop' event is being held tomorrow. these are pictures from the event last week. tomorrow's get-together is from 8 to 10 tomorrow at two different mcdonald's locations.

thousand tax dollars being approved for payout by the metro fiscal affairs committee. the result of two lawsuit settlements over mistakes metro made that we have to pay for. phoenix resident jerry hartrim, who you see here in surveillance footage, sued metro for an alleged false arrest. in 2008, the then-66-year-old was in town for a senior citizens softball tournament. he was the victim of a room invasion by the the victim of a room invasion by the woman you see here in the hallway at sam's town. hartrim called police, who arrive with hotel security. 16:36 cj potter at 9th circuit appeals court: he steps out into the hallway and says, "how did this woman get in my room?!" and then within one minute of the police officers arriving, they chose to grab hartrim, pushed him up against the wall, pointed a taser at him, threw him into the other wall on the other side of the hallway, handcuffed him and then put him in a police car. police have been fighting the case for years, going all the way to the federal appeals

12:14 circuit judge randy smith: i can't even believe the officers when they said what he did. metro's lawyer argued that officers used the least amount of force possible to avoid having to use more after hartrim became aggravated. 14:23 circuit judge randy smith: handcuffing is a highly intrusive measure. this isn't the least you can do. the least you can do is say, "hey, yahoo! calm down and stand over there and quit yapping around!" the three-judge panel didn't buy metro's argument, saying the case deserved to go before a jury. but as of today, it was settled with 50- thousand of your tax dollars. another $87,500 tax dollars went to settle a lawsuit filed by a man who was hit by a metro officer who ran a stop sign at a four-way intersection. darcy stand-up: when you add in legal expenses for metro to fight these two cases before deciding to settle, you get a total of more than $260 thousand dollars. and you paid for it.

a valley woman sas ye'fa mistake staff at a local hotel. re of her insulin.. but someone made a terrible mistake. contact 13 investigative reporter stephanie zepelin is looking into what hte hote now doing for the woman. stephanie. valerie lewis was going to make this hampton inn her home while she was in between apartments. she said she was very happy with the staff and their treatment of her....until she ied to get her insulin out of their staff fridge the next day. pkg 19.44.48 i don't need the stress i just want the medicine 51 i don't even want the money, i don't want the money, i want the medicine 56 in tears, situation. 19.46.35 i never thought they would freeze all my medicine and then not care that they did it, like i did something wrong 42 while waiting for her new place to be ready for move-in, valerie checked in to the hampton inn on eastern and
