the past few days have been met with controversy, yesterday cruz firing his communications director over what is being called false marco rubio. today trump accusing the cruz campaign to videotape their experience. that's prohibited due to voter regulations. cruz is expected to show up any time after nine. if cruz wins, nevada, this will be his first win since the iowa caucuses. from valley view, 13 action news. tricia: thank you. marco rubio also spent his day in the valley. the florida senator was can campaigning at the silverton casino. people today said it was important to understand the issues and get behind somebody. >> here at the breaking news

caucus numbers. the caucus process was such a mess in 2012, it took three days to count 3,000 ballots and already complaints are coming in on social media. emily tweeted about her caucus site saying no one knows where their precinct is, tons of people streaming in. a man here says it's a disaster. no one is checking in or checking i.d.s. they are handing outbawls willy-nilly, some guy voted for trump twice. steve: thank you. we will continue to follow those reports on social media and check those out. a lot of people are unhappy with the process right now. for the first time ever cell phones will have an important role in counting up the votes in tonight's caucuses. 13 action news reporter explains the precincts are in charge of counting the votes.

ballots, the captain in each caucus writes down those results on a piece of paper. the new wrinkle this year each captain will take a cell phone picture of those results and then forward that picture to a county chairman to confirm the numbers. this change is aimed at speeding up the entire process. most of the five candidates still in the race have been in the area for the past few days trying to rally tires supporters. that's significant because unturn candidates are hope their passionate supporters will be able to sway voters to their guide during the caucus. this entire process should take about 30 to 60 minutes, but ballots can be cast at any time. at stake here right now are the 30 delegates. they are all up for grabs in the state of nevada and the winner will carry a lot of momentum heading into super tuesday.

tricia: stay with ktnv for continuing coverage of tonight's republican caucuses. we have crews at all the caucus sites. stay tuned with a special edition of 13 action news, that's coming up live at 9:00 tonight. steve: police are investigating a deadly shooting. michael burton is live there with the latest. reporter: take a look at the scene now. it's starting to calm down as investigators have been here for hours. police rushed out to this road at 3:30. when they arrived they found a man inside of this gray car with multiple gunshot wons and unharmed. the victim was pronounced dead on scene. neighbor employees say they heard gunshots and saw two individuals running from the car, but at this time there are

is a pretty secluded road, so commuters cannot expect there will be traffic delays tonight. reporting live michael burton, 13 action news. >> they were held hostage in a vehicle. >> the victim still has a pulse, still breathing. steve: this is police radio traffic earlier this morning after a fight in a parking lot at nel miches sweets near nel miches air force base. 21-year-old colton is a suspect in the shooting. they are calling 21 jarrod bush and 21-year-old shem persons ointerests. police say shell casings were scattered around the parking lot. the gunfire woke several people out. >> it woke me up out of my sleep. i went to the balcony and seen police come rushing in. steve: these are the three people police are looking for right now, all 21 years old.

in a little wind and they will probably feel cooler than this. i see a very nice warmup ahead. i will have all the details coming up. steve: police need your help tracking down three men who broke into a home in the northeast part of the valley. it happened last month near lamb and las vegas boulevard. you can see the suspect's faces pretty clearly. if you recognize any of them or know anything about the crime call metro or crime stoppers and you could be eligible for a cash reward. there are three people in custody suspected of holding an elderly woman at gun point inside her home. the victim says she was falling asleep last night when she heard her front door get kicked down and immediately called 911. the burglars forced her to get face down of the floor and held a gun to her head.

figure out who did this and figure out what happened. reporter: looking back on the good times her two best friends say she's never been the type to put herself in harm's way. >> out of us she was the responsibility one and calm and mature. reporter: her grandfather spoke to 13 action news. he says police uncovered serveerance from the d hotel shows her walking one way while her husband walking the other way, bun then she walks into a made's video and the video goes dark. police say she fell to the 18th floor to a laundry collection area on the fifth floor. >> i am hoping it was a tragic accident. there was no way it wasn't suicide. reporter: he says her life wasn't perfect but there was no way she would intentionally leave her husband on earth without her. >> they were soul mates.

this site appears to be going well. we have heard of issues popping up at other caucus locations. tricia: thank you. an ohio man pleaded guilty to theft in his role in an unemployment insurance fraud scam right here in nevada. he filed fraud claims of insurance benefits with... whitlock agreed to pay back more than dollar 13,000 to the state. he's set to be sentenced in june. steve: at least one person is dead after a series of tornadoes across central and southern, louisiana today. this is some of the damage. a number of buildings were destroyed by the twenty-first. there were a number of resource of injuries around the state and more than 25,000 homes and businesses are without power

new at six a cloud seeding drone was successful in nevada. experts say cloud seeding could generate as much as 10% more rain during a storm. critics say the process could be toxic to the document. bryan: it's difficult. steve: it's difficult to cloud seed in a state where they don't like have is many clouds. bryan: let's manipulate this weather and bump up the temperatures a bit more. this is what we saw earlier today as far as peak gusts were concerned. we were not under an advisory across the valley. yesterday was about south of the valley and colorado river valley, maybe rock side. any way 55 degrees burled city and winds out of the north at eight.

tomorrow, a little cooler, but that won't last. we will shoot the temperatures back up again, 59 degrees. other areas are seeing 50s right now, but ended off the day at low 60s. that's below normal. we will get back above normal and plenty of it. we have been showing a mass of rain, shower thunderstorms really, those are severe thunderstorms warnings and tornado warnings in the red and impressive stuff to see this storm and another storm that rides up and over the jetstream and we stay clear. injetstream is keeping everything to the north of us because we have high pressure in place. storms follow the path of it because the gentleman steers it along. they pick up energy and moisture as well especially when they cross the gulf. we are talking about a moisture pool in the gulf. high pressure is sticking around for us and that means we will effectively warmup over the next few days.

precinct getting ready to vote. this line is extensive. everybody here has to have been registered as a republican in clark county since the 13th of the month. obviously some people very supportive of their candidates and pretty excited people here ready to make their voices heard in the silver state. as far as their vote on the ballot there's still candidates who already suspended their campaigns because those people if they get 3.33% can still get a delegate sent to the republican convention. steve: coming up next live at 6:30va administrators are finding out why more vets are being denied the medical help they need.

broke into this elderly woman's home behind me. the woman was able to call 911 before they pushed her down and put a gun to her head she said she feared for her life. the police responded quickly and able to take the three suspects into custody. bryan: a live look outside across the valley, conditions a lot calmer right now than they were 24 hours ago. less check in with chief meteorologist bryan schofield. bryan: we had wind advisories early. they were allowed to expire a little early. the the winds collapsed across the valley even though we did see gusts around 30 miles-per-hour across the valley today. you can see the camera isn't moving around too much. yesterday it was rocking and rolling and even this morning, too. we will pick up a bit of a breeze.
