midda new information this midday on a horrible chopper crash in hawaii... the pilot is now explaining what happened last week. he says he felt a vibration and heard a grinding sound and a bang. he was planning a emergency landing in a grassy area, but then realized there were people on the lawn. so he tried to turn the chopper left, hoping to land close to shore... water. people jumped in to help get the family out. they had trouble freeing a 16-year- old boy from his seatbelt. he got out but later died. the latest on a story you saw first on -13- action news. a group of people who were living in storage units on the east side of las vegas, have now been forced to leave. a few weeks ago, the manager issued warnings to -23- people telling them they needed to leave. yesterday police asked -6- people who didn't initially comply, to leave the property. in new york... coast guard officials get into trouble of their own while trying to help a fishing boat. the boat was taking on water, ran aground... called for help... and then the coast guard ship got into trouble. fortunately everyone made it out okay... the fishermen were lifted to safety by a helicopter... the coast guard members swam to shore. an update this midday to a 3 car accident in the central valley last night... it happened near valley view and twain. metro says one of the vehicles involved t-boned a taxi cab. cops had to remove the doors from the cab just to get the passengers out. there were only minor injuries. roads reopened around 11 o'clock last night. not long after that crash, police were at an accident at las vegas boulevard and windmill. this picture was taken by one of our co-workers who was driving by the scene. he said it looked like 4 cars were involved. metro says there were injuries but could give us more specific details. a fiery, multi-car crash in southern california left four
