watch as an 18-wheeler side-swipes his patrol car only seconds after the trooper returned to his car during a traffic stop. luckily.. no one was hurt.. but the car was totaled. the truck driver was issued a citation. a valley mother is furious.... after her child was late.... being dropped off by the bus.... and.... when she called to find out where he was.... no one had an answer. when "you ask, we investigate". contact 13..... investigative reporter stephanie zepelin.... took her complaints to the district.... to get answers. she joins us live from alta and buffalo right now... stephanie... this is where three year old christiano goes to school. he's in a special half day program for special needs children. and even though his house is less than five minutes away, it's especially important that he's in good hand when getting to and from school.

their children on safe both at school, and on the bus on their way there and back. christiano has cerebral palsy and gets picked up and dropped off at his home. but one day, mom jessica says things didn't go as planned. his bus was already 15 minutes late. 20.48.46 i called to find out where he was, i got put on hold for about ten minutes, 49 53 and they said, 'sorry we can't get a hold of the bus driver' 56 which immediately raised a red flag and it scared me that they couldn't find my child 49.00 jessica says when the bus finally showed up, the driver told her he had not spoken to anyone from the district. finally the person on the phone responded...saying christiano was on his way home. 20.49.29 he was standing right next to me, i already had him, the bus driver hadn't spoken to anybody 34 nothing 35 so there was a miscommunication and obviously the operator was trying to cover up whatever he was trying to do 44 jessica is furious. she feels they lied to her about where her child was. we waited for the bus with jessica today...just a couple

another powerful storm that pounded the midwest and east coast. the national guard is on the ground in waverly, virginia.. one of the hardest hit areas.. after a deadly tornado destroyed a number of homes and killed 3 people. this is something out of a movie. this is just destruction. similar scenes across pennsylvania where barns and buildings were ripped apart. the winds were so intense.. a coast guard boat overturned in new york on its way to rescue a disabled fishing boat. there have been more than 30 confirmed tornadoes over the last two days from texas to pennsylvania. adlib let's go to chief meteorologist bryan scofield and 'weather first.' high pressure continues to dominate the weather for the desert southwest which means that temperatures will be very warm and even hot to some through

the best we'll see cloud cover wise in the las vegas valley will be high level wispy clouds which will decorate the blue skies through saturday and sunday with tons of sunshine into next week. high temperatures will be about 2 short of 80 at its coolest on friday and could exceed 80 on saturday and sunday. temperatures will take a bit of a dip getting into next week but it won't be cold by any stretch of the imagination. current models push an upper level low through the northern edge of the state with the possibility of some slightly stronger winds on monday. that system will cool temperatures by about 2-5 for tuesday but that'll just keep temperatures in the mid and upper 70s. following that system another ridge of high pressure will push in from the west for wednesday, kicking temperatures back up into the upper 70s and even the low 80s possible by the end of next week. no rain is expected through the forecast period.
