this is the scene in north carolina... four tornadoes touched down there... take a look at the damage. they tore roofs off of homes and knocked down trees. soft-ball-sized hail also fell in some of the same areas. residents had to duck and cover while the tornado warning was in effect. nationwide this week, strong storms have decimated parts of louisiana, mississippi, florida and virginia. at least six deaths have been contributed to the storms. now to greg- high pressure and dry air are the dominant features across the southwest today and through the weekend. sunny skies and mild winds will be common along with high temperatures between 75 and 80 degrees. our average temperature for the end of february is 65 degrees and it looks like we will stay between 10 and 15 degrees above normal through the seven day forecast. mainly sunny skies will continue through the weekend and clear into next thursday.

investigating three separate shootings that happened justhours apart. the latest one, a man was walking down the street, when a man in a car pulls up and opens fire.. and then just drives off! this happened around 8, near jones and washington. metro is now looking into if the man was targeted, or if this was a random shooting. ((("it was just four pops like pop pop pop pop. i looked through the shades and i was like oh s my friend they don't have a suspect description, but the victim said the suspect's car was light colored. the victim is recovering in the hospital, and is expected to recover. the first of the three shootings happened yesterday. a squatter or burglar was killed. investigators are trying to determine if the shooting was justified. metro says around 3, a property manager and his wife went to check on a home near twain and

they were told someone might be inside. you see them pull up in this surveillance video. police say the manager went into the backyard where he was attacked and punched by another man. that's when the shooting happened. police say the property manager was legally carrying the weapon and had injuries consistent with a fight. more shots fired near cambridge and twain around 6 last night. metro says this happened just outside a boys and girls club. we know one person was shot and rushed to the hospital, but police did not say tell us their condition. metro is stil looking into what led to the gunfire. several members of the u-n-l-v men's basketball team returned home from their road trip to boise state to find their apartment burglarized. the mother of stephen zimmerman tweeted this photo saying, the door of their apartment had been kicked and the place had been looted. among the stolen items was zimmerman's mc-donalds high school all-american ring. metro confirms they're investigating the burglary. no word on whether any changes will be made to protect the

screeching halt seconds before takeoff. the airline is based in las vegas. this happened yesterday in clearwater, florida. the flight was heading to kansas city. passengers on the flight say a loud boom was heard just before take off. that's when the plane stopped and returned to the gate. passengers were given the option to change their flight at no charge. no word on what might've caused the noise. on another allegiant airlines flight.... an arizona family says they were forced off because their son had an allergic reaction to a service dog... but they're not upset with the airline. it was actually their fault because one of them had a dog and said, "no way, i'm not getting off this plane with my dogs.' the flight got delayed because at first they moved the family to the back of the plane, but the reaction was still bad so they had to get off the plane. that's when the passengers started cheering.
