officers were called out to the scene near lake mead and decatur around 9 last night. they say the shooter was last seen driving a white suv. even though the victim was shot twice, they are expected to survive. metro is also on the hunt for a murder suspect, who opened fire on a car-- killing a woman and injuring another person. this happened around 1 yesterday morning on decatur and hayes.. .that's near alta drive. officers say the suspect pulled up to the intersection and opened fire multiple times. they think the suspects and victims knew each other. a valley apartment complex goes up in flames for the 2nd time in just months. and now neighbors say something needs to be done about the squatters crews believe are starting the fires. the latest blaze broke out in some apartments yesterday morning near vegas valley and maryland parkway. a man living in the complex with his 4 year old son worries his building will be next. i worry about the fire aspect of it we fall asleep and we

the las vegas paiute tribe broke ground on a new facility just an hour ago. it's being built near washington and main. that's where 13 action news reporter yasmeen hassan is right now, showing us what we can expect. downtown - 4k sq feet snow mountain campus - 84,000 tribes have the power to decide whether how they want to handle marijuana. the paiute tribe has been looking at all the options for years.... ..but in the end, council members said that this just makes sense. we are talking about using something that grows from the earth as a medicine... ...and they say they are excited to be able to provide that kind of help to the community.

many women say they're taking up arms not just for fun...but also for protection. their homes for hours. neighbors say a man refused to come out of his home yesterday lamb. home. 00:00:13 karla urzua, neighbor "he apparently won't come out, and they said he was armed or something. i don't know if he did something, but they were just taking out guns, a lot of guns from the cop cars." and now they think her mother may have had something to do with it. kristy finnegan is now facing conspiracy and attempted kidnapping charges. she's accussed of encouraging 21 year old cody barns to shoot the tires of her daughter's car... police say finnegan didn't want her daughter moving out and thought the flat tires would keep her at home. the daughter and another man took off anyway, but police say cody followed and opened fire again. he was arrested in california for attempted murder. a rookie police officer in virgina is shot and killed her first day on the job. two other officers were injured. today, her suspected killer is due in court. investigators believe the gunman was an army staff sergeant assigned to the pentagon. they say it started saturday, when the officers were responding to a domestic abuse call. as soon as they walked towards the front door, the suspect opened fire. the suspect's wife was found dead inside the home. he's facing two murder charges, and prosecutors are planning to push for the death penalty. a -13- action news update on a
