are such tragedies just the tip of the iceberg? jeremy roth has the answer for us. amusement parks are in the spotlight after recent tragedies involving children. such entertainment centers are a beloved warm-weather months tradition for kids...but how many end up injured? a 20-13 study from nationwide children's hospital broke down federal data. researchers found from 19-90 to 20-10 -- an average of more than 44-hundred children a year ended up in emergency rooms.

during the summer, when amusement parks or state fairs are in full swing. the study's authors had these tips for parents to keep children safe at theme parks. -always follow all posted height, age, weight and health restrictions. -follow any special seating order and/or loading instructions. -if you think your child might have problems obeying the rules - keep them off the ride. currently fixed ride safety is the responsibility of state and local governments -- study's authors say a coordinated national system would work better. for today's health minute i'm jeremy roth. baby's in a nicu in maryland are being moved from the hospital... after three of the babies tested positive for a potentially dangerous bacteria. all 9 patients were moved to other hospitals while officials investigate. if you're healthy.. the bacteria is not harmful. but it can be fatal for people with weakend immune systems.
