a community is in shock after a sink hole swallows one man's car. we begin with breaking news. these are live pictures of milwaukee. the scene is finally calming down -- after a night of violent protests. demonstrators -- lighting several businesses on fire -- including at least one gas station and one bank. the unrest -- breaking out several hours -- after a police officer shoots and kills a man. at least one officer is injured -- hit by a flying bri this just in. police are looking for a suspected robber. metro -- releasing this surveillance still -- less than an hour ago. the man tried robbing a convenience store -- last month in the northeast. he told employees he had a gun. but they didn't see one. the suspect did not get away with any money. now -- back to our top story. a sinkhole swallows a las vegas man's car. it all went down this morning -- in the promenade at the meadows -- an apartment complex near decatur and alta.

to the man. he says -- he's just happy -- he's okay. -take pkg- looklive intro: christopher - the hole is now covered and the street is again. the owner of the car and neighbors tell it took a while to get this point - but it's an experience they'll never forget. waking up early in the morning - members of this senior community weren't expecting to get their feet yet. "the water was rushing clear down the street." neighbors say a water-main broke - spewing flooding the parking lots within the complex. "it was just gushing water and our neighbors car, the front driver's side was stuck in the hole." that neighbor is danny larkin. "i was going to subway to get a sandwich and i seen a bit of water and i didn't take any notice of it. the next thing was my car landing in a home and i couldn't get it out." danny says this isn't the first the

in topeka, kansas -- gets out of hand. local police -- organizing the meeting. but they quickly shut it down -- after too many interruptions. at least one man had to be ushered out. no one was arrested. a controversial sentencing -- in a college rape case the man convicted -- given a much lighter sentence than prosecutors recommended.. austin wilkerson -- a former -- is getting two years of work-release. he'll only spend nights -- and weekends behind bars. this -- after the prosecutors recommended up to 12 years. wilkerson -- first denying the accusations -- later admitting to raping the half-conscious woman in 2014. "he definitely, in our opinion, and as we argued to the court throughout the process, has given whatever version of the story is best going to serve him." wilkerson's victim is making her impact statement from court -- public.
