i'm catherine cortez masto and i approve this message. it's a simple question. in washington, has congressman joe heck been standing up for you? heck voted ten times to defund planned parenthood. he even tried to shut down the federal government in order to eliminate funding for planned parenthood. and heck's against a woman's right to choose and supports overturning roe v wade which would allow states to criminalize abortion.

reviews. here with what to expect is academy award winner jeff bridges. good morning. >> good morning, j.j. how are you doing? >> hey, man. i'm great. i am so excited. >> good, good. >> yeah, yeah. hey, tell us all about this character. he looks really interesting. marcus hamilton is the character you play. he's a texas ranger and it seems like he's trying to end his career on a high note, right? >> well, yeah. he's trying not to end his career, but they're kicking him unlike actors, texas rangers can only work so long. us actors, we can work -- we can do movies on our death bed i guess if we wanted to. >> that's classic. certainly you have had a long and prosperous career. so this guy is going to give it one more shot, though, right,
9:10 am
>> yeah, well, he's going after a couple of brothers who are robbing banks across texas to keep the family farm and i'm paired up with my partner played by the wonderful gill birmingham. and we're going after chris pine and ben foster. trying to bring them i say justice, but i think one of the things that drew me to the script is that justice is sort of in the -- like beauty is in the eye of the beholder, you know. one of the things that drew me to the script was the ambiguity comes to mind regarding right and wrong. it's not such a black and white issue. and this movie sort of points to
9:11 am
i noticed this about that film, too. it's like you can sort of side with both sides, yourself and these brothers. what was it like to work with these young guys playing the brothers? did you have fun out there? >> yeah, they're terrific actors and very nice cats. we got along great. and as i did with gill birmingham, my i both play guitar and love music and we jammed a lot while we weren't shooting, that sort of thing. get to know each other. >> you got to share with me. so if you and gill were having a jam session, what was your go-to song, you think? [ laughter ] you know, we play -- you know the birds tune "rock'n'roll star," we'd like to play that. >> nice.
9:12 am
>> nice! >> played some credence. we do some credence tune. >> classic. >> songs that my buddy wrote, some dylan. and just jam. improvise. just play. >> so this young writer, taylor share dna who wrote the screen play, what do you think of him? >> he's terrific writer. he also wrote "sicario." i don't know if you saw that. >> that was one of my favorite films from not too long ago. he's an actor as well and i think that helps his writing. i don't know if this is true, but i imagine him kind of putting himself in the position of all the characters and playing it and the dialogue is wonderful. >> right on, yes. >> the movie -- i was going to sate, the movie is filled with drama, but it's got a lot of comedy in it as well. >> i look forward to seeing
9:13 am
up, jeff? >> well, i finished a film not too long ago in london, the sequel to "kingsmen." i don't know if you saw that film, but that was a good movie came out a while ago. and we're doing the sequel to that. got to work with channing tatum and colin colin firth. i did another movie in new mexico called about the firefighters that were killed in the tragic fire there in arizona not too long ago. i play the fire chief in that film. >> wow. fantastic. we always look forward to seeing your face on screen. thank you for joining us. >> all right. nice chatting with you, j.j. >> catch it in theaters this friday. for the trailer, head to the web site on your screen. shawn, back to you. >> thank you so much.

sport that teaches team work, integrity and camaraderie and las vegas firefighters youth hockey foundation thinks so. their mission is give kids the opportunity to play the game they themselves love and this saturday is their fourth annual charity hockey game matchup. just off the ice here to tell us about all of it, eric litman, our buddy back with the foundation. also dave french canadians. nevada storm youth hockey here as well. great having you. >> great to be here, thanks for having us. >> let's talk about the las vegas firefighter youth hockey foundation. what's it all about? >> basically it is a foundation that helps kids to remain and get exposed to the hockey programs here in town. it's an expensive sport as i'm sure gabe will tell you. and so what we try to do is keep kids on the ice and off the
9:15 am
streets, we want to keep kids involved in anything. we happen to feel, our foundation, which is comprised of firefighters that have played hockey and my wife as well, she's the brains behind it, to keep them on the ice and keep them involved. we know what that means in the long-term for kids. so we help subsidize through funding their monthly dues when they're with the hockey program that gave and his people put together in the valley. >> it's not just the pads you have to pay for. you have to pay for the ice time. it's not like you just have a pick up game at a park. there is no ice rink at the parks around here. >> no, it's very difficult, especially in the desert. you have to keep that ice cool. the cost of ice and then the practices, being on the ice. the luxury the kids have here is they're on the ice more than a lot of places in the country. >> no kidding. >> yes. just because the one rink is family owned and operated and the other one is owned by
9:16 am
primarily out of is owned by a family. so we have the luxury to give those guys more ice time. >> that's phenomenal. so there is a big charity hockey game. let's talk about this. >> 4th annual charity hockey game, as you know, shawn. this year is a little extra special. we usually raise money for the foundation itself. but one of our board members, greg burns, established a strong relationship with wesley payton. he was a 7ea battled just so brave and courageously, he had leukemia over the past year and unfortunately, he lost his battle last week on the 11th, surrounded by his loving family and his his funeral will be this saturday, the morning of the game. and his parents wanted to make sure that we put the word out and his entire family, his brother is going to be dropping the puck that night. they're coming.
9:17 am
i think it behooves all of us as a las vegas community to support that and show our love and support for the people that want to help situations like this. >> of course. the fact that his family is going to be making it there, it shows how much of an effect that your organization has in his life and how much his life had an affect on your organization. >> yeah. he loved firefighters. >> firefighter gear. >> yeah. >> no kidding. >> las vegas fire station 1 was -- he called it his station. so we gained that relationship. everybody jumped in. we have derek england currently with the calgary flames is donated a bunch of gear that i'm going to be auctioning off. george paros, stanley cup winner and played with the anaheim ducks is showing up for the
9:18 am
we have jason zucker also playing. he is the first person from the state of nevada that got drafted in the nhl. he's playing for the minnesota wild. i have alumni. gabe was with l.a. kings organization. it's going to be a fun night it's always a blast. we want people to come out. the family wants people to come out and like i said, 50% of all the proceeds are gonna go to his family, wesley's family for the expenses traveling to utah and california for the treatment. >> wow. absolutely unbelievable. how do people get tickets? >> so pretty easy. you can go on lvffyh.com. there is a phone number there that you can call and we can charge for the tickets and have them at will call. the tickets are also at fiesta rancho ice arena. 10 to 5 is the normal operating
9:19 am
there. we have tickets there as well. and actually friday we also community partnered not only with gabe and the nevada storm, but unlv has a unlv hockey is trying to attempting to go division 1. >> that would be awesome. >> they have a golf tournament where we'll be selling tickets at the golf tournament, too, on friday at bears best. so there is plenty going on. the web site the information. ten dollars for adults, $5 for children. we'll have a signed lemieux jersey we're auctioning off. george paros is being memorabilia that he's digging up to sign. everybody is jumping in. we have a raffle package that's going to include a bunch of other items, including golfing items. all kinds of stuff. >> by the way, the juxtaposition here, we have firefighter,
9:20 am
>> i'd put him on my team. >> you're on his team. >> i'm on his team. >> i'm not crazy. i kind of mixed it up, trust me. i want to look good. [ laughter ] >> okay, fair enough. >> that takes a lot, by the way, just to let you know. >> it's really an incredible thing you're doing for the family and incredible thing for the family to be making it out, especially the same day. >> yep. >> we want to make sure that the commune goes out and supports this. gentlemen, great having you. >> thank you for having us. >> thank you. >> best of luck. ey fourth annual vegas valley firefighters charity hockey game happening this saturday, 5 p.m at feesiest at that rancho. the web site and phone number are on your screen. proceeds from the game will benefit the las vegas firefighters youth hockey and wesley payton's memorial. for more information about youth hockey, visit that web site right there on your screen. are you on facebook or twitter? you can like or follow us. find us at vegasmorningblend.com

if you're in an accident, do you know what to do? who would you call? should the police be there? your insurance company be there for you? >> don't just guess what you need. attorney and firm owner roy baker is an expert on motor vehicle accidents and he has all the answers you need. you're not an expert in terms of you get in them a lot. you help people get out. thank you for joining us. >> thank you. >> so we get in accidents, minor, major, what's the first thing we should do? >> obviously call the police. but from there, the ambulances are important. it used to be that there for a
9:24 am
>> yeah. a lot of things changed. >> i think half the people, they're listening probably don't even realize when they're in an accident, how critical it is to take pictures. we run around with these mobile phones and half the time forget to get them. >> take a selfy in the bathroom, but not an accident. >> exactly. >> really it's important because when you're trying to deal with an insurance company, they're always trying to find a way to not pay out. >> exactly. >> you want to make it very clear that they have to. >> yeah. >> pictures are a great way to do it. video >> especially the scene of the accident. so important. when there is a challenge of who was at fault, you can tell a lot by just the picture. >> right. it's not just a he said, she said. you have evidence. >> and how they're positioned in the intersection, stuff like that. >> skid marks, yeah. >> it's so important. and i think people just, they're in an accident, they're nervous. they're hurt and they just forget. so that's a big thing. taking pictures -- the other day i had a guy take a picture of
9:25 am
card, of the other party. >> 'cause remember you have to write down everything. just a quick snapshot and you're done. >> exactly. that's a big deal. make sure you take lots of pictures. get the witness information. lot of times people are hanging around that have seen the accident. they can be on your side, but if you just don't know they're there, it's tough. then it becomes a he said, she said. so it's so important to make sure that all the witnesses are covered. >> okay. slept. so take look for witnesses. what are am so of the other things not to do. some mistakes that people commonly make? >> the very first thing that most of them do is call the other insurance company and give a recorded statement. don't ever do that. because usually it's like lifting weights for the first time. you're hurt, you don't even realize it 'til the next day. >> my poor wife, this happened to her where she called and made a statement and what she said was slightly off enough where
9:26 am
you're 50/50. she was stopped and she was hit by another person. >> yeah. critical to get an attorney. some people say attorneys aren't that helpful. so critical. people are hurt, they don't realize they're hurt until the next day or two weeks later. i had people that said to the insurance company, i'm not hurt at all. i'm just a little ruffled or whatever and ended up having surgery. >> exactly. turns into something worse. >> yeah. so it's so critical that you don't do those ki another big thing, i had one this week. a guy comes in, he's like it's been 30 days. the insurance company said they'll call me back and send know a doctor. i'm like you're top. you're too late here. because any gap in treatment is a big deal. >> of course. >> they'll point that out. hey, you must not have been hurt otherwise you would have gone to the doctor. >> the first call is to the police. the second call to you? >> exactly. call us. we'll run you through it. 444-2222.
9:27 am
>> so you will help a person deal directly with their insurance company? >> exactly. >> and sometimes the other driver, i think at least the latest numbers, or relatively recent numbers is like a quarter of all the drivers in the valley are uninsured or underinsured. that's pretty significant. so what happens if you're hit by an uninsured motorist. >> you better have uninsured motor coverage. >> there you go. that's what you should have. >> that's a critical coverage the i used to work for insurance companies and i tell everybody to get it because that ot the people in your vehicle, your family. the people you love. so it's very critical. >> new technology is out there, dash cam technology. that can really help clear the mystery behind these accidents as well. do you suggest clients get that? >> love it when they have it, yeah. it's fortunate that a lot of the cabs have it. so you get these cab drivers and hey, the light was green and sure enough, you look at the camera and it was green. >> and how about those
9:28 am
i see helmet top camera on almost every motorcycle. i don't know if they're just doing it for fun. >> checking out cruising. >> i saw your billboard on the 15 self and it's there with you and get the motorcycle there. you help motorcyclists as well. >> absolutely. yep. i ride and have a lot of friends that ride. a lot of times people think they're the ones at fault 'cause they're on a motorcycle. it's not true. fault. probably 99% of the time. >> got you. how easy is it to set up a consultation with you? >> easy. it's free. we'll come to your house if you need to. whatever works for you. a lot of times the hospital if you end up in the hospital or whatever. >> it's great having you. >> thank you. >> thank you for -- hopefully we won't need this advice. but if we do -- >> number is right there. >> there we go. >> if if you're in an accident,

they've had a bad experience because they don't want to get twisted, cracked, popped. the method is regentle. rather than seeing people every day the rest of their life, we have a set program that gets people better, teach you how to take care of yourself down the road so you're not reliant on a doctor. >> we have a video that shows how you're able to pinpoint the location of pain. explain this for us. >> so if you figure this brain sits at the top of our body and most of us have one. our spouses may argue with that. the brain the spine. the nerves come out the side. they run to every muscle, cell and organ in your body. bone out of place, may be from a fall, an accident or sports, you name it, what it does is pinches a nerve that can cause pain, numbness, weakness anywhere throughout the body. my job is to find where in the body the bone is out of place very gently fix it, so the body can fix itself. bone out of place top of the neck. think headaches, migraines.
9:33 am
problems, allergies. middle of the neck, thyroid. that's weight gain. sometimes too much weight loss. nerves run down to the hands, consumer tunnel. so people get their hands cut on. a lot of times the problem comes from a misalignment in the neck. here runs to the heart issues the lungs. this adjustment, the nuka chiropractic organization studied high blood pressure. the adjustment can lower it equal to two medications. i don't claim to cure really anything. blood pressure. but when you get the pressure off the nerve for the first in a long time, the body can fix itself. as we get towards the middle of the body, these nerves control the stomach. stomach is indigestion, heartburn, ulcers, those nerves also run to the pancreas, which is remember diabetes, immune function, getting sick all the time, your kids, you. also when the body attacks itself, like rheumatoid. here at the bottom, these nerves, small and large intestines, constipation,
9:34 am
that, but when you get the body off the nerve, the body can fix itself. painful cycles, hot flashes and all the other joyce that go along with that. those nerves at the bottom, that's also sciatica, burning into the buttocks, into the knees, even bottom of the feet, which is neuropathy. what we have is a very gentle adjustment to get the pressure off of the nerves and that way sometimes symptoms that people don't with their whole life, chronic pain pinching, numbness, burning, tingling, you can fix it without getting shots or cut on. >> you're getting rid of essentially the traffic jam so everything is working at the best. >> yes. >> for people to have chronic pain, they figure i have to live with this for the rest of my life. >> or a doctors says here, take this drug. it might feel better for a little while until the problem gets so bad that you have to have surgery. so these days about 10% of my practice actually comes in for maintenance.
9:35 am
you get a signal of pain or symptom, that's the time to come in and get looked at. >> low level laser therapy. this is something you utilize as well. i know it's really a healing fact. >> there is two things we do very well. one is a very gentle chiropractor adjustment that gets results where other things have failed. the second is we apply a cold or low level laser therapy to a problem area and the idea is you get more circulation there. so think shoulder, wrists, knee, hip. more circulation to that area, you don't get the joint back, but it feels better. and the decay slows down. once again, you have quality of life and you don't have to go get cut on or go you should the knife. >> people are feel ago pain, how do they get in touch with you? >> sometimes the pain in your neck is someone else's pain in the neck. that's another reason to get fixed. so here is what we do. we have practice two-day workup to see who we can help and who we can't.
9:36 am
get you the help you need. so if it's not here, i'll refer you somewhere else. normally $108. we'll limit it for this show to the first 20 callers, we'll do the workup for $37 and we do cut it off at 20 callers. >> so make sure you get in right now. doctor, pleasure always. >> great to be here. >> he has that great special for the first 20 callers. a two-day workup, which includes a discounted fee of $39 for a consult, exam and x-rays. this is not valid for medicare-aged patients. for more information, call the number or visit their web site. locations include summerlin and henderson. there you can find so many great stories on what makes the valley such a special place to live. ktnv.com. deals at restaurants, the whole shebang right there.
