we begin tonight -- with a series of frightening events -- at lake mead. a 63-year-old woman is dead -- after snorkeling in the overton arm of lake mead. emergency crews -- tried to revive her -- with no luck. she was not wearing a life vest. we're also learning -- a 48- year-old man from florida -- dies while scuba-diving. officials tell us -- they received reports -- the man surfaced from the dive -- unconscious -- around 1-30 yesterday. and two people -- injured this afternoon -- in a personal-watercraft accident at it happened just before one. investigators are working to figure out what happened. and at lake mohave -- two people are injured in a tubing accident-- near katherine landing. police tell us a rope snapped. this is viewer video-- of a helicopter taking off to rescue them. the man and woman were taken to university medical center -- with serious injuries. they are expected to live. a man is is dead -- after a car plows into him -- as he runs across a busy freeway.

happened. 13 action news reporter -- david schuman -- has the latest. police say that man was killed while attempting to cross the i-15 near the las vegas strip. you can see from our freeway cameras just how far traffic was backed up after the crash. it happened just before 8 this morning at flamingo...and the southbound i-15 was shut down more than three hours. police say he was running across the freeway from east to west. the man was pronounced dead at the scene. the woman driving the car that hit him was taken to the david schuman...13 action news. a 13 action news update. we now know the name of a young man -- gunned down in north las vegas. this evening -- the coroners office -- identifying the victim -- as 19- year-old kenneth boykin junior. police say -- whoever pulled the trigger -- is still on the loose right now. boykin was shot and killed -- yesterday -- near commerce and carey. investigators don't believe this was a random shooting.

this time -- near pecos and north las vegas boulevard. it happened just before midnight last night. police -- finding a 31-year- old man -- suffering from gunshot wounds. he died at the hospital. if you have any information -- call police right away. we're also learning the name of a man -- a state trooper killed -- during a wild shootout. chopper 13 -- fast and first over that scene. 41-year-old matthew gibbon -- was shot and killed by the trooper. nevada highway patrol says -- it began as a tr near boulder station. but -- they say -- gibbon jumped out of his car -- and took off. the trooper -- chasing after him -- the two men firing at each other. as luck would have it -- the trooper's badge -- dfelected one of the bullets -- possibly saving his life. fire forces five people onto the street -- and takes the life of a family pet. the flames -- breaking out around 8 this morning -- at a home near alta and valley view. firefighters got the people out to safety. unfortunately -- a small dog didn't make it.

police are looking for the people who robbed a gas station. take a look at this surveillance video. a man points a high-powered rifle at the victim. police documents say -- when the victim opened his driver's door -- a man with dreadlocks -- got out of the car parked next to him. the victim laid on the ground. the robber took his money -- phone and keys to the car -- then drove away with his accomplice. your voice -- your vote -- in the race to the white house... critics are blasting donald trump's -- ever-c this -- after the business mogul -- hints at softening his policies. but during a fundraiser this weekend -- trump's stance -- anything but soft. kim hutcherson reports. got off the train -- jumped onto the tracks -- and began running. ortiz chased after him. but then the man did something strange. he laid on the tracks -- refusing to budge. the officer grabbed him -- wrestling with him -- before pulling him off tracks. seconds later -- train rumbles over the area -- where that man had been lying. henderson police are investigating a deadly crash -- near warm springs and eastgate. 13 action news -- fast and first to the scene. police say -- a car and a moped crashed around nine last nigh warm springs at boulder highway-- and warm springs at eastgate -- were closed -- but are back open now. an investigaton continues tonight -- after police in oklahoma -- pepper spray an 84-year-old woman. this -- happening as they arrested her son -- at a home in muskogee last week. as eddie randle reports -- police -- are releasing a body cam video -- of the incident. natsot: "turn around and face that way now or i'll spray you!" an 84-year-old woman

people around town talking. police say this all started while they searched for the woman's son. police say he ran a stop sign then refused to stop - then darted into this home. police say after asking him to come out, but the man refused. so they went in. natsot: kicks in door you can hear police yell for the man to come towards them - before they tase him. natsot: "come here! i'm gonna tase you. do it now." then taser shot. then out comes his 84-year-old mother, geneva smith (name confirmed), who police command to turn around. we counted and about 40 seconds after the command, they pepper-spray her and then she goes down. we talked to her last week and on friday we reviewed the video with assistant city attorney and sat down with the chief of police rex eskridge, who says the department is working to resolve the situation. (chief rex eskridge, muskogee police): "this is a very important issue, there is a lot of misinformation out there, there is a lot of prejudgment going on, there is a lot of concern." for that reason he
