unemployment. the cowboys swoop in -- and scoop up the quarterback -- announcing he signed a deal with dallas. sanchez -- will play behind rookie starter -- dak prescott. firefighters are hoping cooler temperatures will help them get more control of a wildfire burning in western montana. the so-called rattlesnake fire has scorched almost a thousand it's only about ten percent contained. a wedding day is supposed to rock the bride's and the groom's world. but not in the way it happened today. so we were just upstairs and it all started shaking and we were just like 'oh dear, what's happening', there was an earthquake and then we were like 'we'll take it as good luck from today'. yeah! the wedding preps were interrupted by a magnitude 5.6 quake centered near pawnee, oklahoma. it rattled seven states across midwest. experts say it was shallow.. just a little more than four miles deep. at least one is injured.

firefighter. police say 31-year-old krystle holmes was asking for cash donations for the family of justin beebe he is the vermont firefighter who died last month while battling a wildfire in great basin national park...just south of ely. beebe died after succumbing to injuries from a tree falling on top of him. in new jersey -- a cop fights morning shootout. a suspect is dead. and now -- a manhunt is underway. investigators say -- two officers stopped a group of men -- near the caesars casino in atlantic city. the men -- opened fire on the cops. police -- shooting back. one of the gunmen -- killed. five other suspects took off.. and in kansas city... police are looking for two men they say killed a teenage girl and injured two others. officers say the suspects drove by and fired shots into a group have had enough. "you are very heartless and

you need to drag your kids to the police department and turn them in." no word on why the girl was targeted. in oklahoma -- a teenager is recovering -- after another student -- shoots him during a high-school football game. the victim -- rushed to the hospital -- after a bullet grazed his left temple. another girl -- treated for a panic attack -- and hitting her head. shooter. sprayed-vo an oklahoma officer is under investigation after using pepper spray to subdue an 84-year-old in her own home. it all started when her son, arthur blackmn allegedly ran a stop sign and then wouldn't answer the door for police. officers then kicked in the door and tased him. that's when they came across his mother - who they say wasn't cooperating with their orders. "if you look at the video, they took her to the ground very very gently and then finally got her secured and the rest of the house was able to be cleared."

obstructing an officer. as for his mom ...she was given a citation for not obeying police. authorities say the officer did nothing wrong. destroyed evidence - v a huge legal mistake in south texas -- forces prosecutors to throw out -- 142 criminal cases. the harris-county district attorney's office says -- someone destroyed the evidence to the cases -- mostly drug related. the mix-up -- happening -- when two deputies -- decided to the d-a says -- he didn't know about it -- until it was too late. (devon anderson, harris co. dist. atty.) trial prosecutors in this office were not aware of any possible issues with their cases until one of them was getting ready to go to trial a the property room -- is now out of a job. the senior officer -- he claims was responsible -- has retired.

8 people injured after a ride is shutdown. officials say the ride's computer system detected a problem and immediately began a safety shutdown. but then - the ride operator panicked...stopping the ride and accidently releasing the safety restraint in the middle of the ride it stops, it was sideways and me and my friend were on the top. and the seats, the things that hold you down, they came up and we were trying to hold on." a number of people ended up falling and slamming into the the ride. 2 adults and 6 children were taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries. neighbors are being credited with saving 2 kids after their home goes up in flames. you can see smoke just pouring from the roof...while the fire quickly spreading. the two brothers were home alone when they heard something pop downstairs and started smelling smoke. panic set in....and they weere
