around 730 - yesterday evening - metro responded to this valley home on the 5300 block of surrey street . we are told a female roomate living here came home to find - the home ransacked- guns stolen and a man inside shot-. dead, a vehicle also went missing- later found blocks away . one father we spoke with says he's amping up security - it's his 9 month old daughters safety thats his number one 71637 im working with my neighbor he has like 8 camera s and he is installing one for me . 71640 is the main thing here hope she is going to be okay no one was at the home today -but this car with a sticker from the coroners office .. left a sign .... the investigation is not over. no arrests have been made...police are asking for your help.

an elderly man -- is fighting for his life -- after he's stabbed in the head. it happened -- outside catholic charities on main street. two people get into a fight. police say -- 30 year-old lakisha hooks -- pulls out a knife -- stabbing the man. he is not expected to survive. right now -- hooks is behind bars. right now -- one person is recovering -- after being shot overnight the gunfire -- breaking out -- near lake mead and nels boulevards. 13-action news -- fast and first to the scene. the victim was taken to the hospital -- but was standing and speaking. no word -- on what led to the shooting. another crash -- claims the life of a valley man this a drunk driver -- who was speeding -- lost control of his car -- slamming into man on the motorcycle. the rider -- died at university medical center.
