they knew it was a strategy to unnerve her and she was determined not to let it happen on stage. she quoted michelle obama say when she go low, we go high, and eventually she laid into trump like this. >> okay, donald, i know you're into big diversion tonight, anything to avoid talking about your campaign and the way it's exploding and the way republicans are leaving you. >> reporter: notably trump was more prepared up like the last debate. he brought up benghazi, trade, e-mails, hit after hit, and hard on clinton for trustworthiness, an area she has issues with. here in the spin room after the debate, aids used the word desperate to describe trump saying the fat he brought the women who spoke to reporters here after the debate is a sign they are a last-ditch effort saying he may have rallied the core supporters, did nothing to win over the republicans who turned away.
