driver ran a red light...and smashed into a couple of cars which led to a chain reaction of crashes. suprisingly only one person was hurt...with minor injuries. torrey pines is shut down and only some traffic getting by on spring mountain. it could be a big night in carson city if the state assembly votes to fund an n-f-l stadium in las vegas. bryan callahan joins us live from the special session... with the very latest! bryan-- the crowd waiting to weigh in through public comment is a lot smaller than it was earlier in the day... this as the initial hearing on the plan for the stadium and convention center expansion went for around seven hours. around one this afternoon the room at the grant sawyer building was packed... and assembly members were expecting the public hearing to last 3 hours.

support of 28 assembly members... the question is do they have the votes. bryan callahan, 13 action news. the "more cops" tax has now been approved by both the nevada senate and state assembly. it now heads to governor the bill allows clark county commissioners to raise the sales tax by 1-tenth of a percent to put more police officers on the street. sheriff joe lombardo says this measure is even more critical after 4- million dollars.. earmarked for metro.. was removed from the stadium deal. "it seemed it was overwhelming for the taxpayers and i understand that. so it is even more important that this passes to breed the success we are looking for." the extra money would

this coming on the heels of an deadly attack.... on two palm springs officers.... over the weekend abc's.... lauren lyster has more. (nats) a solemn procession in southern california for la county sheriff's sergeant steve owen. funeral service -- "who was taken from us by an evil predator on oct 5h" the veteran officer allegedly killed execution-style by a parolee while responding to a burglary call a day of mourning...as t fighting for their lives officer shot.. officer shot the officers - critically injured when authorities say they were responding late wednesday to a domestic disturbance call sot commish presser: "always unpredictable - probably one of the most dangerous calls they go to" the dispute- between roommates. and one of the men - armed with an assault style rifle and wearing body armor - opened fire on the officers witness: there was a lot of gun shots, like over 30 gun shots. and then we seen a bunch of police come and just swat teams

claim during the 2nd presidential debate caught fact checkers off-guard since michelle obama has stumped vigorously for hillary clinton this campaign cycle. a deeper dig found perhaps this new political ad was the one trump was referring to... "cant run your house" anti-clinton ad @ :19 ((if you can't run your own house, you certainly can't run the white house)) president obama said that comment by the first lady during his presidential run was not a swipe at the it's now resurfacing though in this ad from a pro-trump super pac. sot aaron sharockman @ 4:40 ((if he's talking about a vicious attack ad it's actually republicans using michelle obama's words inferring they're about hillary clinton and then using them against hillary clinton)) with the ad not coming from the obama camp as trump perhaps implied.. and the first lady's comments open to interpretation.. politifact rating trump's claim as... false there is now just one more debate to go before election day.

with 13 action news anchor.... dayna roselli. u-s songwriter bob dylan has been awarded the nobel prize in literature-- and it's now trending. the nobel committee recognized him for creating, quote, "new poetic expressions within the great american song tradition." the 75-year-old is the first american to win the nobel prize for literature since t just so happens-- dylan is performing tonight in las vegas at the cosmopolitan at 8 p.m. two nypd officers, were honored for their bravery in suffolk county on wednesday. in july when someone tossed what appeared to be a ticking time bomb at an nypd cruiser in times square-- instead of fleeing the apparent bomb, they chose to quickly drive it to a location where it couldn't hurt anyone except themselves.
