there's a really great group in washington, d.c., called the friends of the national museum of the american latino. they set out to ask congress through a petition to pass the smithsonian american latino act. that would designate the arts and industry building in washington, d.c., as a future home of the national museum of the american latino group. >> the museum is for a lot of people that have come here and made a bet themselves. >> an effort that's been in the works for many, many years. in fact, the smithsonian institute themselves have admitted they haven't really told the american latino experience in their museums, so that means that 60 million americans are being left out of this story, this great american story. >> something about that story i definitely part of so many
