again. nevada and florida have just moved out of the clinton column again to 'toss-up' status. 13 action news political analyst jon ralston is here with an update. ----today is the sixth day of early voting, almost halfway done. so what do the first five days tell us? the democrats have a big lead here in clark county in ballots cast -- thirty three thousand. to put that in perspective, that's about the same pace as up with a seventy one thousand voter edge after early voting ended. the raw vote lead actually is bigger this year, but there also are one hundred fifty thousand more voters here. ----but votes are votes. and in 2012, those banked votes paid off as president obama won the state by nearly 7 points, mostly thanks to how well he did in democratic clark county. the republicans have stanched the bleeding since the weekend,
6:06 pm
they still are watching the democrats gain thousands of raw votes every day, building that firewall. ----republicans hold out hope of crossover voting and that independents, who make up a fifth of the electorate, will go their way. but the question must be asked: is a blue wave building in nevada as it did in 2012? it would appear so, although there are nine days of data left to collect -- before election day, that is. don't forget -- 60 percent of voters generally cast ballots early, so we will know a lot b the runway at new york's la guardia airport is shut down this evening after republican vice presidential candidate mike pence's campaign plane skid off the runway. weather is being blamed for the accident...there was fog and rain in the area today. pence is fine but there is some damage on the tarmac.
