in custody. plus...a nation-wide amber alert is in effect right now for a ten year old girl. more details on the missing girl. but first new at 3-- plans to extend the monorail to the south side of the strip are developers faced a possible roadblock at todays meeting. 13 action news reporter marissa kynaston explains why they mave to re- work their plan. developers with the las vegas monorail showed this map to county commissioners today-- showing the route they have planned out for the monorail extension. that extension would take the monorail about a mile closer to a possible nfl stadium. but minutes before the meeting-- the southern nevada water authority notified commissioners-- that the new route travels right over a main water line-- that provides water to the strip.

grave or immediate danger. if you see her -- please call 911. the man accused of killing a little boy won't walk free anytime soon. kenneth robinson was in court today...he's being held without bail. police say he killed a 7 year old boy. robinson is due back in court in december. only 13 action news is speaking with the victim's grandmother -- hear what she had to say at 5. authorities are now investigating this vandalism at an african american church as a hate crime. it happened late last night in greenville, mississippi. you can see someone wrote "vote trump" on the building. there's also a lot of fire, water and smoke damage inside the church. the greenville police chief says this is a form of voting intimidation. they don't have any suspects yet. developing now in iowa, two police officers killed overnight in ambush style

[[script]] the man police believe ambushed two police officers in iowa now in custody. police identifying 46 year old scott michael greene as a suspect -- greene surrendering to state officials this morning in a rural area west of des moines. sot presser: "there's a great sense of relief not just for us as obviously we believe he was targeting office of relief for the entire community" just hours before turning himself in... sot broadcastify possible rifle rounds, there is an officer down at 129th two police officers shot and killed separately in the suburbs of des moines while in their patrol cars according to police - the attacks occurred about 20 minutes apart ----beginning at 1:06am -- ((photo)) the first -- officer justin martin -- shot while sitting in his car on patrol alone. sot: broadcastify (inaudible location) we have another officer hit over there the second killed while responding

open marijuana smoking. andrew freedman is colorado's pot czar. 54:32 the governor's point of view is you should not allow dual consumption. you should not be allowed to have a beer in one hand and a joint in the other. there are concerns allowing open mixing of alcohol and pot will lead to more dui related deaths. (nat police car door opens) the state has been trying to track the impact legalizing recreational marijuana has had on d-u-i's.... but the data is limited and inconclusive... but colorado state patrol indicates fatal crashes where thc... marijuana.... was found in the driver's blood... has increased 44%... from 55 in 20-13 to 79 in 20-14.... however, that does not necessarily mean the drivers were intoxicated but one thing that is clear... the potency of pot is at all-time high levels.... and that is a point of concern. 19:37 this is not your grandfather's marijuana from the 1970's that had a low

with election day less than a week away -- donald trump and hillary clinton are making their closing arguments to voters -- including right here in the valley. but first -- developing now -- the man police believe killed two iowa police officers is now in custody. scott michael greene -- turned himself in earlier today. police believe he was the gunman -- in a pair of execution-style attacks. right now -- he's being questioned -- but has not been charged. des moines police sergeant anthony bemiio police officer justin martin were shot and killed -- in separate incidents -- while sitting in their patrol cars. sot/sgt. paul parizek it doesn't look like there was an exchange of conversation, it doesn't look, there definitely wasn't an opportunity for these officers to defend themselves or respond to the attack." investigators say -- the attacks occurred about 20 minutes apart. officer martin was shot while on patrol alone. sergeant beminio was killed while responding to that incident.
