a new federal study found that kids are piling on too much salt. researchers found nearly 90% of children are eating more salt than recommended under federal guidelines and all that salt puts kids at risk for heart disease and other problems later in life. one in nine children already have problems like high blood pressure because of a salty diet. well, there's a consumer alert about a new phone scam involving gift cards. the fcc says scammers pretend to be with official agencies like the irs and fbi and threaten legal action and they demand payment with gift cards. itunes gift cards are mentioned. many of the scammers are targeting elderly. the fcc notes that no legitimate agency would demand payment in the form of a gift card. it's not rain drops on roses, but this morning, we're hearing about a few of oprah's favorite things.

guests locked out of their rooms for almost 12 hours at the paris casino and hotel! we have new information about the massive power outtage. a woman missing for more than two months is found alive. but where she has been is even shocking officers this morning. but we will begin with taht massive power outtage at the paris hotel. this morning, people are being allowed back inside after a forced evacuation. hours... going back to about 9-30 yesterday morning. 11 people were rescued from five different elevators. and hundreds of others had to use the stairs to get out of the building. and even when the power was restored, some guests weren't confident it would remain that way. : 57 i'm not going to the 25th floor. there is no way i am going up in an elevator in that hotel. 1:03 caesars says the power outage was caused by a construction crew that drilled through the property's main power line
