story in the southeastern u-s where 3-thousand firefighters are battling a total of 42 wildfires. many are believed to be man-made.. and all are being fueled by drought conditions. one person has been arrested so far. police say the suspect is a 21-year old aspiring weatherman who reportedly confessed to starting a fire in eastern kentucky to get more facebook followers. several other suspicious fires are still under investigation in north carolina where the situation so dire.. mandatory evacuations have been ordered. sot - tim s resident: "i've lived here all my life, 65-years, never seen it like this. just hopefully it rains. but i don't seen no rain in the forecast." the widespread smoke is also prompting air quality warnings in parts of north carolina and georgia. it's not feeling like christmas around the valley just yet.. but it's starting to look that way. 13-first alert chief meteorologist bryan scofield is at ethel-m's in hendersin for the 23rd annual lighting of the cactus garden. bryan.
