the clark county commission approved an increase in the hotel room tax yesterday to help pay for the 1.9 billion dollar nfl stadium. commissioner chris giunchigliani was the only commissioner who voted against the room tax hike. she expressed concerns the state legislature was forcing clark county to approve the plan. commissioners also approved a sales tax increase to put more that revenue will cover the cost of another 300 officers to protect the valley.. including the las vegas strip. the increase takes effect next april. now to a story you asked us to investigate. a las vegas couple is fighting back after their car was damaged by a stray golf ball. they say the golfer refuses to pay up. it happened while michael poelmans ( pole-mins ) was driving out of rhodes ranch. when he passed the golf course,

this happening the same day the social media service said it would crack down on hate speech... the alt-right is a group that supports white nationalism... twitter even suspended verified accounts that were associated with the alt-rgith movement... fire-v a family is happy to be alive this morning after a fire rips through their apartment while they're sleeping! they're thanking one young family member for saving their lives... 10-year-old diana loveras woke up monday morning to find their long island home filled with that's when she ran into her mom's bedroom to wake her up.... a man who was holding a baby hostage! that deadly gunshot came after a three and a half hour standoff with "salvador reyes" last month. we just getting a look at the video now. police say reyes broke into the home of his estranged wife and her family. when the officer took that shot reyes had stepped out on the balcony...with a gun to a 2-year-old's head. thankfully the chil hurt. a police k-9 in idaho is making a quick recovery after being shot during an officer involved shooting in boise... it took four doctors to save the dog along with blood transfusions from two dog blood donors! the dog named "jardo" did lose one of his lungs in the shooting. "jardo" is already up and moving around...the vet says it's pretty remarkable given his injury.
