targeted. officers arresting the suspect in that deadly shooting -- just a short time ago. todd walker is tracking the the latest developments in just 24 hours.. violence against police across the country.. but it is shaking law enforcement to its core.. the shootings began sunday with an officer ambushed and killed in his patrol car in san antonio texas.. detective benjamin marconi.. who has spent nearly half his was parked just outside of san antonio police headquarters when this man allegedly shot marconi in the head.. today the chief revealing surveilance video captured the man outside and inside police headquarters 4 hours before the ambush attack.. saying it appears the gunman's target was any officer in uniform.. hours later in sanibel florida, near fort myers.. another officer performing a traffic stop.. was allegedly shot by this man.. 49 year old jon hay.. as he drove by. officers tracked him to his

hay was wounded and taken into custody.. the officer is expected to survive. around the same time in st. louis a man pulled up next to a marked police vehicle and shot an officer twice in the face. re-09mo 1:29 the officer said he saw the flashes and felt the glass breaking in his window as the shots came through and struck him in the head. :36 investigators later got in a shootout with that suspect.. killing him.. the st. louis police officer is expected to survive and has kansas city.. an officer was shot and injured teenage suspect during a traffic stop.. that teenager was shot and killed after pulling a gun on the officer.. that officer is expected to make a full recovery. i'm todd walker. we have some breaking news. authorities say at least 12 people are dead after a school bus crashes in chatanooga, tennessee. at least 35 elementary school children were on board at the time. the driver has been taken in

no word on what caused the bus to crash. a 13 action news update this afternoon. we're getting our first look at the woman accused of shooting and killing her boyfriend. this is 35-year-old cheryl rheamount. police say she was driving with her boyfriend -- when they got into an argument -- and she shot him. the man was taken to the hospital -- where he died from his injuries. police say rheamount asked a neighbor to call police -- and arrived. take a look.... police say -- this guy is behind bars this afternoon -- for alledgedly stabbing a 20-year-old man to death over the weekend. jacob driscoll faces one count of murder -- with use of a deadly weapon. take look at your screen right now-- police want you to be on high alert for this man -- they believe he's holding up grocery stores and drug stores all over the valley. investigators have connected him to at least 8 different

removing the signs. other parts of clark county have until wednesday to take down their signs. mk-- 13an. right now -- tensions remain high in north dakota -- after deputies and rioters clashed over the construction of an oil pipeline. what started as a protest -- quickly turned into a riot involving about 4- hundred people. police say the protest began peacful -- but quickly go out of hand. proposed site of the pipeline. they've been trying to stop the construction for months.. they say it threatens the water supply -- and sacred native american land. so far nobody has been injured -- but one person was arested. police now say the woman suspected of kidnapping baby sophia -- faked her own pregnancy for months. the newborn was kidnapped on friday -- her mother found shot to death at their home in wichita, kansas.

with a 34-year-old woman in texas. today police identified the suspect as yesenia sesmas -- and say she knew the baby's mother for years. she's now facing murder and kidnapping charges. pope francis has given catholic priests the power to forgive abortion. in an open letter -- he reaffirms the church's belief that abortion is a "grave sin" -- but said quote -- "there is reach and wipe away." the national security agency is being audited -- as two senior officials call for the dismissal of the man in charge. the pentagon inspector general office says it is looking into the nsa's effectiveness -- especially when it comes to recent security breaches. the u.s. defense secretary and director of national intelligence have asked president obama to terminate admiral michael rogers. president obama has not publicly commented.
