the shooting comes in the wake of a violent weekend in which four officers were shot in a 24-hour span nationwide. right now -- a manhunt is underway in florida. a sheriff's deputy k-9 was shot and killed during a shootout between deputies and an armed man. volusia county sheriff's deputies were responding to a call about a wanted fugitive in deltona. while they were searching for the suspect -- another man drove by recklessly on a dirt bike. e that's when the man opened fire. deputies returned fire -- and at some point the k-9 was struck by a bullet. now to new developments in that devastating school bus crash in tennessee. the driver reportedly asked the kids if they were ready to die. a mother who had three kids on the bus claims johnthony walker said that just seconds before crashing into a telephone pole and a tree. another mother -- who lost a

pill ring in cottonwood heights, utah. that's about 15 miles south of salt lake city. agents needed full body suits and scuba tanks in order to safely gather evidence and decontaminate the areas of the house -- where 26 year old aaron shamo allegedly used a pill press to transform powdered fentanyl into counterfeit oxycodone and xanax tablets. the drug has been linked to dozens of death's across the agents also seized hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash. president obama started his thanksgiving holiday by pardoning the last turkeys of his presidency. turkeys "tater" and "tot" won't be on anyone's dinner table this thanksgiving. the president holding a small ceremony in the rose garden today.--"tot, i hearby pardon yu from the thanksgiving table"-- --butted to-- --"congratulations, claps, goggle, yay right on cue,

ended up in the hospital. south lake tahoe police say a man put some sort of substance on the salsa bar at a baja after eating at the restaurant -- a 12 year old boy got such bad food poisoning -- he had to go to the hospital. the manager called police after smelling a strong chemical odor--like bleach. investigators believe the same suspect put something on a "hot wok bar" inside a grocery store -- the week before. there is a concern that serial offenders, as this suspect is, they don't stop until they're caught.

they say they should know what the substance is soon. now to some video you have to see... utility workers rescue a cat perched atop a high-voltage power pole for nine days. this happened in fresno, california. the cat's owners call him "fat boy" and they figure the neighbor's dog scared him up the pole. needless to say "fat boy" decided he wasn't coming down. (andrew perez/owner) "we were calling his name and he was looking at us, and he'd just meow." butt with (anna robinson/neighbor) "fire department came out within minutes and they were really helpful, but they said they could not get the cat because it was on a high voltage pole." finally -- a utility worker arrived and came to fat boy's rescue. they used a cat carrier to get him down. fatboy was a little dehydrated but he's said to be just fine.
