southeast. thousands of people are being forced to leave their homes.. even popular tourists spots - like "dollywood" in tennessee - are being evacuated. more than 10 thousand animals are trapped at ripley's aquariam of the smokies. at least 100 homes have burned. the fires are being fanned by strong winds, and the worst drought in a decade. ground crews are struggling to put out the flames. in our second half hour, we are hearing from the desperate people trapped in the middle of all of this. parton has just released a statement saying in part -- "i am praying for all the families affected by the fire and the firefighters who are working so hard to keep everyone safe." we're on top of a developing story this midday. investigators are on the scene of an airline disaster in south america. a plane carrying a brazilian soccer team went down in a mountainous region of columbia. 81 people were onboard and officials say all but 6 died in the crash.
