(alarming ringing)ike a totally normal day (blender) (opening a can) (meow) (child's laughter) "i love you" i mean i guess i was a little sweaty and i was finitely sore (grunting) i thought i had gas turns out, i was having a heart attack (plate breaking) (hard exhale) heart disease is the number one killer of american women so now i take care of my heart and i tell the women in my life to do the same >>sounds great by the way that's nice sweety but thats not my heart that is find out more from the american heart association at goredforwomen.org this is what happened. i was talking to my best friend. i told her i wasn't feeling like myself. i had pain in my pelvic area and bleeding that wasn't normal for me. since it had gone on for a couple of weeks, my friend said i had to go to the doctor. of course, she was right. it turned out, i had uterine cancer, a type of gynecologic cancer. to make a long story short, by realizing something might be wrong and seeing my doctor right away, i received treatment.

now we're confident i'll be fine. please, please listen to your body. if something doesn't feel right for two weeks or longer, see your doctor. uterine, cervical, ovarian, vaginal, and vulvar cancers are all gynecologic cancers. signs and symptoms are not the same for everybody, so get the facts. get the inside knowledge. call 1-800-cdc-info to learn more. knowing can make all the difference in the world. it did for me.

end with a diagnosis of breast cancer. and as rachael moodie found out, it doesn't have to. [rachael moodie] as soon as i knew that i was going to be having chemo, i knew i wanted to be a mom. and so my first thought is, if you're going to give me chemo, you tell me how i'm gonna be a mom. [female announcer] chemotherapy can compromise a woman's fertility. rachael turned to dr. catherine lee, a breast surgeon at moffitt cancer center in tampa, florida. [dr. catherine lee] it's really part of my responsibility i feel as a whole cancer doctor to introduce that discussion to patients of, are you interested in having children, do you have children, if you don't, these are the things that you need to know. [female announcer] rachael went through seventeen weeks of chemotherapy, and had a double mastectomy.
