the bay area is already home to the some of the nation's most sophisticated surveillance sophisticated surveillance equipment. thanks teri. well, super bowl 50 is expected to give a shot in the arm to some businesses -- including pizza places around town. slicing pizza pizza plus expects to sell 20 to 30 pizzas, and 400 chicken wings, every 15 minutes this sunday. that means all 115 employees will be on the clock, well before kickoff. last year, the big game boosted sales to about 55-thousand dollars between their four locations. this year, it could be even higher. dan "this year, we expect to do about 60 but we're kind of maxed out, as far as sales go, because we can only produce so much at any given time." some customers place orders, up

nathan gilbert, city of reno associate planner: "really what we're trying to do is to prioritize the connection between the university, it's economic and intellectual leverage and really bring that to the urban core." this project near center street is just one of the developments being considered. the university says it would include new use for the land there, benefiting the needs of students like rapid transit by r-t-c. the historical resources commission for the city of reno says they're in favor of the plan, but they just want to make sure the historical buildings are being preserved and not demolished. jen huntley, city of reno historical resources commission: "that block is the only intact block of turn of the century homes that is in reno and that's the block featured in the university plan as a pedestrian way." the university and the city says they are working to see how they can integrate those homes into plans for the area. and many of the residents who came to the meeting were also in favor of the development, but they had a

public comment: "i'd like to see center street actually renamed to university avenue. i think it would be a real great way for the city to embrace the university." now the city council will review the recommendations from the planning commission before any final amendments are made in the in the gateway and university district development plans. covering the story, amanda ketchledge, channel 2 news. thanks amanda. we have a cone zone update for you... after being closed for a month, west first street is officially back open to drivers... a sign the virginia street bridge project is coming along well. recent developments included pouring concrete and fixing the curbs. the next phase includes working on utilities and replacing old poles around the bridge. crews say they've been working six days a week - about twelve hours a day... for the last eight months. the goal is still to open up in may... which they say is achievable if progress continues at this rate. also in cone zone... the nevada

continuing improvements on i-580 through washoe valley with a new bridge closure. the bellevue road bridge along with the northbound on and offramps are closed... the southbond on and off ramp remain open. traffic to go north is being detoured to old 395 and interstate traffic will not be affected. ndot says this project is a precautionary measure to keep the bridge stable in the event of an earthquake. meg ragonese- "we're going to be reducing the weight load on the bridge itself by 300,000 pounds and what that does is just ultimately makes the bridge safer and stronger." the bridge is set to reopen in 3 months. in money watch tonight... computer problems have shut down the tax return e-file system. the i-r-s says it is experiencing a "hardware failure." the e-file system and the "where's my refund" service are among the

tonight in crime beat... the carson city sheriff's office is asking for help identifying two suspects in a burglary. it happened in the early morning hours of january 22-nd - at the empire ranch golf course in carson city. officials say these two suspects stole large quantities of food and alcohol. they say the suspects are possibly a man and a woman. there are no descriptions beyond these two photos. if you can help identify these suspects, you are asked to contact the carson city sheriff's office at 8-8-7 25-hundred. south lake tahoe police are asking for help finding two murder suspects.

parking lot of the beverly lodge saturday night around 7-45. investigators believe two suspects met dennis wright junior and his girlfriend kendra ghiorso, who were planning to sell 100 pounds of marijuana. when the suspects tried to rob them, there was a struggle and wright junior was shot multiple times and passed away at the hospital. one suspect is described as a black man... six foot 3... 200 pounds in his late 20s or early 30s with black hair in braids or dreadlocks. the other suspect is also described as black... possible mixed race... five foot 8... 170 pounds and also in his late 20s to early 30s... with his hair in tight curls. they may have been driving a tan sedan... similar to this one. if you know anything that can help police call 530 5-4-2 61- hundred. and the washoe county district

been found guilty of d-u-i... which resulted in a hit and run accident. 28-year-old daniel wilson was found guilty on monday - after a six day trial. prosecutors say he had consumed alcohol and smoked marijuana before he drove his friends to the movies in august of 2014. seconds after leaving their home, wilson hit a 41-year-old reno man - who was riding a scooter... but wilson fled the scene. he will be sentenced next month. still to come on channel 2 news at 11 - president obama made his first visit to a u-s mosque today... and now he has a message for christians and jews. mike will have a look at your forecast after the break.... but first - the race for president is tightening up. we'll show you who dropped out today... and who's hitting the ground running in new hampshire, next. the caucus results are final. texas donald's insults get more and more hysterical the more and more upset he gets. marco rubio is positioning himself as the mainstream gop choice. florida we must nominate someone that can unify this party if we have any chance of winning. voters we spoke with say they'd rather hear about the issues. i think it's a lot of just name calling and petty childish things. while trump and cruz are locked in a war of words....hillary clinton and bernie sanders are turning up their attacks on each other. sanders, who's from vermont, leads clinton two to one in the latest poll. clinton says despite his "home court advantage" she's not giving up on new hampshire. presidential candidate new hampshire always favors neighbors - which i think is neighborly! i think that that argument that the only reason we are doing well here in nh is because we are a neighboring state is not totally true. voters will decide whether geography makes any difference

day...with that, nevada head football coach, brian polian announced his 2016 recruiting class this afternoon. and we have a lot to look at here... this one's in alphabetical order, the pack picking up 4-guys from california. on the next page, how exciting for reeds nick gregg to be another reed alum heading to nevada. the recruiting class totalled 23 and was ranked 8th in the mountain west by the rectruting website rivals.com you see akeel lynch is a transfer runningback from penn state...even though the class didn't ranke high...coach polian says he really likes the class...because it fits a certain mold.
