point 725 percent... meaning something that costs 100 dollars would cost 54 cents more in taxes. the committee was considering whether to go with a sales tax or a property tax increase in order to raise the nearly 800-million dollars. the chairman says that money is critical for the future success of washoe county schools. shaun carey/chairman, school overcrowding and repairs needs committee: "you get better results when children are in a classroom, that's not overcrowded, that is not leaking, not full of asbestos and guess what? we can make that choice or we can choose not to." carey says without the proposed increase, there will be double sessions in washoe county high schools and middle schools, and almost all elementary schools will go to year-round or multi-track schools. nevada gaming control board commissioner michonne ascuaga resigned from her position today after details surfaced of a federal investigation involving the nugget in sparks when it was under her family's ownership.

nugget for 16 years- said she was resigning to avoid having her family's business litigation distract from the gaming control board's work. the federal investigation by the financial crimes enforcement network came to light as part of an ongoing legal dispute between the ascuagas and wolfhound holdings l-l-c, which purchased the nugget in 2013. the holding company says the nugget was investigated for failing to meet federal record- keeping and reporting requirements. in campaign 20-16... a new poll shows democratic candidates hillary clinton and bernie sanders are in a dead heat in the silver state... nearly a week ahead of the caucus here. according to the poll by free beacon - conducted earlier this week... 45 percent expressed support for clinton and 45 percent said they support sanders, with 9 percent undecided. the poll also asked which candidate was most honest and

reno-sparks convention center is the place to be this weekend. the 20-16 reno auto show is underway -- with all 19 new car dealerships from around the truckee meadows on-hand. last year -- a record 17.5 million cars sold in the u-s -- and experts say that will likely continue -- saying there is pent up demand. the improving economy and low interest rates are helping car sales -- and low gas prices are giving trucks and s-u-v's a lift. j "people are coming in, looking at larger vehicles, trucks especially. the truck sales have increased dramatically over the last 6-8 months because of the price of gas." the reno auto show gives people a chance to look at different makes and models -- all under one roof. the event goes till sunday at 5 p-m. ky- "the only faa approved drone service has come to a tahoe ski resort, i'm ky sisson, find out

the new professional video service offered by cape productions gives people a chance to relive their time on the slopes. faa regulation typically requires drones to fly 500 feet away, but this service is the first in the country to legally fly within 500 feet of people. louis- "the unique exemption we have explicitly allows us to film members of the public who are participating in the operation. in this case at places like squaw, that operation is actually being filmed on the ski hill." the faa strictly regulates the commercial use of drones and require precautions such as a visual observer present and done only in the day light. safety is a high priority. ky- "not just anyone is allowed to fly a drone for a commercial service. these guys are actual pilots for airplanes." kabe- "being a pilot really helps with the drone operation because we have been trained really well by our faa certified flight instructors how to handle extreme sport video. even we did it. at the base of squaw, we named our video... ky- "coverage you can count on." lucy- "coverage you can count on!" of course. met up with cape production
