democratic side.. hillary clinton continued the attack she started against sanders during thursday's debate. she says sanders made false claims about president obama's legacy. he has called the president weak, a disappointment. sanders called clinton's comments a "low blow.". clinton finished a distant second in last week's new hampshire primary. she and sanders face off at the polls in and tomorrow c-b-s political director john dickerson will moderate the g-o-p debate in south carolina. coverage starts at 6 p-m... only on c-b-s. as a result we will not have a 6:30 newscast. we'll also be streaming the debate online and will have a link on our website at k-t-v-n dot com. the debate will feature the six remaining g-o-p candidates... today former virginia governor jim gilmore ended his presidential bid. on the democratic side-- a new poll shows candidates hillary clinton and bernie sanders are in a dead heat in the silver state... nearly a week ahead of

according to the poll by free beacon conducted earlier this week... 45 percent expressed support for clinton and 45 percent said they support sanders, with 9 percent undecided. the poll also asked which candidate was most honest and trustworthy... 29 percent said clinton... 53 percent said sanders and 18 percent said they were equal. and when it came to which candidate cares more about people like themselves... 36 percent said clinton... 49 they were equal. a group of northern nevada bernie sanders volunteers and supporters met at the jungle on west first street today - for an event called bands for bernie. the group made handmade signs and enjoyed live music.. while representatives from the sanders campaign helped get folks registered to vote and commit to the upcoming caucus. and speaking of the bern-- he will be in reno tomorrow - to take part in the "real solutions for real people" summit. the summit is being organized by

lequieu made his initial court appearance in reno yesterday.. after he and eight others were indicted on a single count of conspiracy to impede u-s officers. if found guilty, he could face up to six years in prison. at a hearing yesterday, judge william cobb said federal marshals will transport lequieu to district court in portland-- but he didn't say when that will happen. lequieu's public defender didn't immediately respond to requests for comment late friday. the public utilities commission of nevada decided today... to uphold nearly all of its december decision that changes the way solar customers are billed. the decision reduces the credits solar customers get for the excess power their solar panels generate... and increases their usage fees. today-- the commission decided to phase in the changes over 12 years... instead of four... they say to ease the burden on solar customers. commissioners say-- the new rates are more fair to traditional energy users... who they claim have had to subsidize

but solar companies say-- these changes will effectively kill nevada's rooftop solar industry. reid: "with all the rulings that have happened as of late, it just doesn't make financial sense anymore for people to go residential or small commercial solar." a coalition of solar companies in nevada has come together to fight the decision... and possibly get a referendum on the november ballot. for more on all of this... tune in for face the state this weekend. it's airing tomorrow at 4:30 am... 3:30 pm and 8:30 pm and on sunday at 6:30 am and 4 pm. in school watch... today the "school overcrowding and repairs needs committee" voted unanimously to put a sales tax increase on the november ballot to pay for school capital improvement projects. if ballot question "wc-1" passes, the sales tax in washoe county would increase to 8 point 2-6-5 percent... up from the current 7 point 725 percent... meaning something that costs 100 dollars would cost 54 cents more in

if you remember the committee was considering whether to go with a sales tax or a property tax increase in order to raise the nearly 800 million dollars for capital improvements for schools. the chairman says that money is critical for the future success of washoe county schools. shaun carey/chairman, school overcrowding and repairs needs committee: "you get better results when children are in a classroom, that's not overcrowded, that is not leaking, not full of asbestos and guess what? we can make that choice or we can choose not to." carey says without the proposed increase, there will be double sessions in washoe county high schools and junior high schools, and almost all elementary schools will go to year round or multi-track schools. nevada gaming control board commissioner michonne ascuaga resigned from her position today after details surfaced of a federal investigation involving the nugget casino in sparks when it was under her family's ownership. ascuaga- who was ceo of the nugget for 16 years- said she was resigning to avoid having

distract from the gaming control board's work. the federal investigation by the financial crimes enforcement network came to light as part of an ongoing legal dispute between the ascuagas and wolfhound holdings l-l-c, which purchased the nugget in 2013. the holding company says the nugget was investigated for failing to meet federal record- requirements. squaw valley/alpine meadows was just selected as the best ski resort in north america. after being nominated as one of the top 20 resorts by u-s-a today and 10 best... it was picked as the winner of the 2016 readers' choice poll for best ski resort. squaw valley alpine meadows say it has received 24 feet of snow so far this season, and they're thrilled to be recognized as the top ski resort in the u-s. chief meteorologist mike alger

paul and dallas i'm garrett, lets check in on some girls action.... where the big rivalry game was hosted by douglas tonight....lets check in the other part of our 2 the hoop squad....zac mooney and ryan canaday....ryan you were there for the carson douglas game. thanks garrett- we've got some great highlights tonight. zac has a few plays from a couple not so close games in the high desert league. but first lets take a look at some rivalry action in the sierra league. yes i'm talking about that douglas high...carson city rivalry...with the tigers playing at home. 1. let's take you midway into the second quarter...freshma n hannah carr drives toward the basket..misses the first attempt..but grabs her own rebound and gets the second shot to fall...that would put the tigers up 12. 2.late in the fourth quarter..senators will cut the

basketball team will be looking for a little revenge on fresno state tomorrow evening. the last time these 2-teams met the pack lost in fresno 85- 63.....after a win over air force the guys say their riding some momentum, particularly on defense. we just have to take that into saturday night. because re remember what happened at their place and we're not gonna let that happen again. we realize that fresno state is really talented and we're looking up at them in the standings...not looking down at them. .tip set for 4 on tomorrow.
