"it's kind of invigorating. it's a big rush" josh grohman, tried it out three years ago and was hooked. "i got a groupon and i tried out flying trapeze and it was really fun." a pleasant surprise, considering the 32-year old says he could never get into the swing of other workouts. "it always felt kind of boring. it was just something i had to do. i was just taking up time

want to do." that all changed with aerial arts...josh says he went from being a couch potato to a flying acrobat. "it's very interesting to try and put something together while you are also hanging in the air and while you are trying to support yourself and make sure your wrapping yourself correctly." intructors say aerial arts can strengthen your core and help in weight loss. looking to our community now... valentines day doesn't always happen on the same three-day weekend as president's day...but with the two holidays falling back to back this year it certainly did some good for some of our local casinos. tracie barnthouse-communications manager-definitely saw an increase in occupancy over the weekend and you know contribute that to a couple things the weather was beautiful so we saw a lot of guests coming in

barnthouse says a lot of the business at the atlantis this weekend came from locals... but there were also a lot of tourists who came from out of town to celebrate the holidays as well. she says many of the hotel guests were couples who found their entertainment inside the casino... but they also saw some people head up the hill for some turns on the slopes. several hotel guests we spoke to said the larger crowds were evident all around town and they hope the extra business will be great for our economy. "most of the time the holiday weekends are busier and i can't get to my favorite machines as often." it's a good city, it's a good town, it's good clean fun, it's not too crowded but you know you get some crowds on the weekends and especially like valentines day weekend was pretty crowded but it's really all in all a wonderful place to come stay." and the atlantis says the crowds haven't left just yet... they've had many guests choose to extend their stay this holiday weekend and stay until tomorrow. skiers and snowboarders enjoyed

day weekend on the slopes. mt. rose ski resort said they had thousands of people the past couple of days. murry blainey, director of operations mt.rose ski: "this weekend was extra good because of great snow. and the weather was beautiful so clear and clean roads so no issues going to lake tahoe." resort officials tell us that presidents day is historically one of the busiest ski weekends they have in the season, second only to the week of christmas. while the final numbers aren't yet in, mt. rose expects to have hit a record-number of presidents day visitors this year. they say that's because it's the last holiday weekend for skiers and snowboarders. with clear skies, warm temperatures and plenty of snow to enjoy, many families brought their gear to the mountains. franklin alioto, san rafael, ca: "today was gorgeous. we're actually trying to get all our fleece and jackets off because it's so warm today." gary goodman, san jose, ca: "it's president's weekend, the kids got the week off, so we came up for a couple days. and we finally got some snow, some great snow."
