welcome back... every major automaker is testing cars that can drive themselves. but researchers say there is a long way to go before these vehicles take over the road. as john potter reports, one major hurdle is giving the cars the ability to make the right decision when faced with common sense, and even moral dilemmas. it looks like a regular car...but this one's autonomous. nats: "autonomous driving" professor raj rajkumar works at carnegie mellon university, where the technolgy was created over 30 years ago. rajkumar: "ah, just wait." nats: "the magic all happens here." that people like me think about is that somebody deploys this technology prematurely and it causes an accident. god forbid the car hits a stroller."

it's the cold and flu season... not just for people - but for dogs as well. and now, dog flu and kennel cough cases are spiking across the country. 00-12 13-21 1:06=1:12 trt1:32 dr. pat warpinski first started seeing cases up kennel cough three to four weeks ago... like people... dogs have a yearly cold and flu season, too... but this year is one of the worst in a decade. "but then it started to progress where we started seeing several cases a week, multiple cases a week, and it's kind of really almost running rampant as of late in the entire area" when dr. warpinski first diagnoses a dog with kennel cough... like he did with this dog...kelty "..." he treats it with an antibiotic. but if the dog doesn't respond... there's a good chance it's a virus... and possibly the h-3- n-2 dog flu. "we have one confirmed case and several others that aren't

normal fashion, so i would definitely have to assume there are more cases of infludenza going around." signs of dog flu are virtually the same as kennel cough... coughing or gagging... discharge from the nose or eyes... a loss of appetite... and noticeable lack of energy. "come on buddy, get in the trunk." cody vanhefty says although he took his dog maverick into petsmart today... he doesn't often bring him out in public "he's my hunting buddy. i don't bring him anywhere where he could possibly run into issues like that. i don't take him to a lot of dog parks or anything." but just like the cold and flu in people... it can sometimes be impossible not to get sick. "...nats of dogs..." but there are ways to protect your dog... wash your hands and use sanitizer... so you don't spread the virus. if your dog is symptomatic... or susecpitble to illnesses... stay home. and consider vaccinating... not all vet. good news here... i called several veterinary offices - as well as the nevada humane society - and no one in

conference standings, the spartans are one of the most improved teams in the conference. 3-wins in conference play are 3-more then they had in the mountain west all last season, and the 8-total is 6-more then year's final tally. they're much improved uh, they're well coached. they have 4 freshmen that are playing really well. rogers is a guy that creates matchup problems cuz he can shoot the 3 as well as post up. and he puts it on the floor really well. they've got good 3- point shooting at the 4-spot and the 3-spot so at 3,4, and 5 they can hit the 3 ball. and they can score a bit in transition as well. tip set for 7....you can stream the game on the mountain west netowrk or on nevadawolfpack.t

the division one north basketball tournament is underway the girlslsipped things off last night with quarterfinal action, tonight the boys get things going...dallas colodny joins us now live with a preview of the quarterfinals. yea garrett it is playoff time... win or go home... there are 8 teams left vying for the division 1 north title... top 2 teams will play in the state tournament next week... the favorite has to be the carson senators who went undefeated in the sierra league this year they also take the number 1 seed from that division.... they actually haven't lost to a team from the silver state all year long... the number 1 seed for the high desert league is the reno huskies... they enter the playoffs on a three game win streak and were 14-2 in their division. so here is a look at the brackets... reno will host the 4 seed from the sierra league the douglas tigers... reno beat the tigers by 6 back in december. while on the south end of town bishop manogue the 2 seed from the sierra league will host mcqueen the three seed form the high desert league... the lancers topped the miners in
