take a look-- this is where reno police responded --just after 7 o clock tonight-- on a report of a shooting on the 27 hundred block of kietzke lane. that's where amanda ketchledge joins us live with the latest details. amanda-- landon-- police tape and cars are blocking this part of the ponderosa trailer park near yori park. because this is the parking lot where the man was shot. when police arrived on scene, they said they tried everything they could to save him. lt. scott shaw, rpd: "reno fire department as well as remsa worked on the victim for quite a while, but were unable to revive him. so at this time we are working on a homicide investigation." police are looking for a suspect but do not have a description at this time. and the identity of who the victim was, is also not being released. that's because police are still at this crime scene investigating....col lecting evidence and talking to neighbors who may have saw or

thanks mike. new tonight at 11.. some sad news to report out of heavenly ski resort-- where a skier has died in an accident. officials say 77-year-old kathryn strangman of wisconsin died from injuries sustained after hitting a tree yesterday morning. heavenly ski patrol responded and attempted performing advanced life support to the

the mountain and pronounced dead by the douglas county coroner's office. an autopsy is scheduled, as well as an investigation into the incident. the carson city sheriff's office has released renderings of an unidentified woman whose body was found last year near lone mountain cemetery. deputies say the woman was found wrapped in a sleeping bag on march 17th of last year-- along a walking trail near newridge and northridge drives. the autopsy revealed the woman had reddish-blonde hair.. and was between the ages of 42 and 71. the white woman was found wearing an adult diaper... white, size 7 asic shoes with purple lines.. and size 8 rings. they also found aristar glasses and partial top dentures. detectives believe she was buried for at least one month... up to 12 months. anyone with information is asked to contact detective sal acosta at 283-7855. turning to the crime beat.. the

helping residents, owners and managers of rental properties - to keep illegal activities to a minimum. it's part of the reno crime free multi-housing program - that shows how to make their properties more attractive to tenants and less-inviting for criminals. the reno police department offers this eight-hour class for free. it's required for any rental property with 40 units or more. complexes like the meadowood apartments have also completed the second phase -- working with police to improve the environmental design. things like landscaping, lighting, windows and security. lopez "the crime affects not just the police, it affects everyone in the community. so, by working together, we can try to prevent and reduce some of the crime." managers of this apartment complex say they have seen quite an improvement since they started the program. officers say a safer neighborhood improves demand and creates a more stable resident base, while lowering maintenance costs and increasing property values.

people have been arrested in california-- suspected in a murder that happened last month. yesterday police arrested 18- year-old tristen batten in vallejo... and then this morning 20-year- old harvest davidson was arrested in sacramento. both have been charged with open murder related to the death of dennis wright junior, who police say was shot and killed outside the beverly lodge in south lake tahoe on january 30th while trying to sell marijuana. police believe more arrests are likely as the investigation continues. a federal grand jury in nevada has indicted cliven bundy and four others on charges related to an armed standoff near his ranch in 2014 - over unpaid grazing fees. the 69-year-old rancher was arrested last wednesday in oregon-- where his sons, ammon and ryan bundy, are jailed and accused of organizing the occupation of a national wildlife refuge. ammon and ryan bundy, along with ryan payne and peter santilli, were also indicted today. along with cliven.. they face 16
