amanda, what'd you find out? nevada has a closed caucus system. only democrats can participate on february 20th and only republicans on february 23rd. republicans closed their registration on february 13th-- and the voter list from that day is the one they will use at their caucus on tuesday. but democrats are allowing same-day registration on site, tomorrow. so, a republican already registered with their party could show up at a democratic caucus site, switch to the democratic party, vote and then still participate on tuesday because the party switch would not show up on the gop caucus rolls. adam khan, washoe county republican party: "that's the rules that we were given. if you're registered by february 13th, as a republican, you're going to be on our rolls." chairman of the washoe county republican party, adam khan says the voter records collected on february 13th will be the only ones used at the gop caucus locations in nevada. adam khan, washoe county

party says voters could switch their party affiliation in the time leading up to the caucuses. so the democratic party says there's no way to tell if someone is maliciously voting, to participate. chris wicker, vice chair of nevada state democratic party: "we don't intend to change our process at the caucus day at all. we will go full steam ahead with letting anybody who shows up and wants to participate in our caucus and is either a registered democrat or signs a registration form, they can participate." it's also a possibility that democrats could have registered republican by february 13th and could vote in both caucuses as well. as more information develops in this ongoing story, we'll be sure to bring you the latest details. covering campaign 2016, amanda ketchledge ,channel 2 news. thanks amanda. democratic presidential candidate bernie sanders spoke to a large crowd at the nugget in sparks today-- and he didn't waste any time getting to key issues in his campaign.. like fixing a rigged
