the casino is located at 241 north virginia street in the heart of downtown reno. that's where ryan canaday joins us live with the latest details on this murder investigation. ryan what do we know? landon, the investigation has found that the victim was an off duty employee of siri's casino here in downtown. police have identified the suspect as 38 year old kiley grayson. he's been charged with open murder and police say he did not run from the crime scene or resist arrest. was compliant with officers, he was pointed out as the shooter, he was taken into custody at that time and taken down to the main police station." the reno police department has met with a lot of eye witnesses who were inside siri's at the time of the shooting. investigators have determined there was a physical and verbal dispute between the two men, that escalated quickly . when the victim tried to walk away... police say grayson pulled out a gun and shot the man in the chest. although the suspect in this

while tesla coming to northern nevada was considered a huge victory for the state... and for our local economy... not every group was happy with the legislature's provisions for bringing the gigafactory here. russell: "we would have hoped that there was a little better protection for local workers when this went through the legislature. what they ended up getting was 50 percent local workforce on the job. we don't think that's enough. it's not 50 percent nevada's tax money, it's 100 percent nevada's tax money." james says about 300 local workers walked off the tesla build site in protest today. senate bill one from the 2014 special session... requires that tesla hire half of its workers from nevada. but since tesla's tax credits come solely from nevada... these workers argue... the percentage should be higher. we reached out to tesla for a response... and a spokesperson sent us a statement saying in part quote: "in reality, more than 50% of the workers used by this contractor and more than 75% of the entire gigafactory workforce are nevada residents, demonstrating the project's strong commitment

welcome back... a massive irs data breach is much bigger than first realized. as john potter reports...hackers were able to get sensitive information using the agency's "get transcript" program, which allows you to check your tax history online. not even virginia based tax attorney, wayne zell, was protected from hackers who he says stole his identity. zell: "somebody was trying to claim a refund using my social security number and i knew something was wrong." the irs's data dump is the latest in a series of disclosures. in may 2015, the agency reported cyber criminals accessed some 114 thousand taxpayer accounts. three months later, that number grew to 334

says there as many as 724 thousand victims. weisman: "the irs is frankly not doing enough to protect us." the irs said hackers used personal information gathered from other online sources - like bank accounts - to answer personal identity questions on the "get transcript" forms. one possible culprit: irs- approved tax preparers. one audit found 6 out of 13 providing adequate security to customers. weisman: "we're often our own worst enemies because there are times that we don't use proper passwords, we don't use proper security." the irs says it is notifying the hacked taxpayers by mail, as well as offering free identity protection for a year. covering the story, john potter, channel 2 news. the online viewing and download feature of "get transcript" has been suspended since may 2015.

pipe scraping february is one of our most important months for precipitation -- but that wasn't the case this year -- finishing just 30 percent of normal. chad "it's definitely disappointing but it's not abnormal. even in some of the biggest years we've had, we've had extreme periods in the middle with dry spells." this mount rose snow telemetry site looks much different than it did a month ago. the depth of the snow has lost 27 inches -- but the water content has increased. a normal winter provides about 37 inches of water. this site has 31 inches so far. jeff "all these warm days, the snow settles and it consolidates. so, the snow is just getting denser and denser." paul "february's been a nice, warm, sunny month but that might be too much of a good thing. it wasn't very good for the snowpack. just a month ago, we were about 25 percent above average. now, we're a little below average, and that means march is that much more critical." chad "march precip is a little bit better, too, just because it's fresh precip. it's new. if you look at those south-facing slopes, up there, a lot of the old precipitation's already
