in crime beat... reno police have a suspect in custody, after the shooting at a reno casino left one man dead. just before midnight sunday, reno police responded to shots fired inside siri's casino at 241 north virginia street in the heart of downtown reno. police identified the suspect, as 38 year old kiley grayson. he's been charged with open murder, and police say he did not run from the crime scene or resist arrest. the victim was an off duty employee of siri's casino. police tell us there was a physical and verbal dispute between the two men. when the victim tried to walk away... they say grayson pulled out a gun and shot the man in the chest. they haven't released the name of the man who was killed yet. and the squaw valley fire department has identified a woman who died after an accident

weekend. firefighters responded to the ski resort just after 1-30 p-m on saturday, on a report of an injured skier. there they found 62-year-old elizabeth danel of olympic valley. she was unconcious, and later passed away. while her exact cause of death is still being investigated, firefighters say she appears to have hit a tree. at sugar bowl ski resort, the body of a ski instructor who went missing last month has been found. 23-year-old carson may disappeared on january 14th. that prompted a search that lasted for days, but had to be called off due to bad weather. his body was found by tahoe nordsic and el dorado county search and rescue yesterday morning... about a quarter mile out of bounds, in an avalance-prone area near the original search site. sugar bowl says their thoughts and prayers are with may's family, and that yesterday's discovery helps bring closure. let's check in with meteorologist jeff martinez for

legislature. what they ended up getting was 50 percent local workforce on the job. we don't think that's enough." senate bill one from the 2014 special session requires tesla to hire half of its workers from nevada. but these workers argue... that there are nevada workers available... and tesla should up the percentage. we reached out to tesla for a response... and a spokesperson sent us a statement saying in part, quote... "and asked me if honey who is, you know, she's been tracking deer with her for three years asked me if she would do anything. with honey's keen sense of smell and after hours of searching... the young boy was found safe in the woods. eli now has a new friend and a community to thank

they say you can't teach an old dog new tricks but a there are a few dogs that beg to differ... four shelter dogs - rescued from slums and abandoned lots around sao paulo - were trained as "ball dogs" for the brazil open tournament. the four dogs - frida, mel, isabelle and costela - have one job and that's to retrieve balls that went out of bounds at an exhibition match..and then give them back to the players. now, truth is... they didn't like the "giving back" part as much as the "getting the ball" part. but the ball dog initiative hopes to raise awareness of their 1- thousand - sheltered dogs. the dogs were even able to take part in the awards ceremony. each of the dogs trained for months and trainers say the biggest difficulty was to make

community now... a new partnership between unr and catholic charities of northern nevada is providing fresh produce for low income families... with six new hoop houses yesterday. peter; "this is gonna be a huge addition in terms of the quality and the nutritious value of the

vitamins - coming fresh out of the ground" when struggling with a tight budget or homelessness, pricey fruits and vegetables are first to be eliminated. now, hundreds of folks will get that nutrition every day at saint vincent's dining room, the pantry... and through meals on wheels. the new program expects to have its first harvest ready this spring. last week, we told you how the homeless overflow shelter was forced to close because of vadalism. since then, the city of reno has been working on leasing a new location. the new building isn't ready yet, so people have been spending the night at the tables inside the warming room at the volunteers of america shelter. sandy isham, development and community relations officer for volunteers of america: "we are literally just trying to make sure people are safe and warm and don't freeze to death, during our winter, cold nights." the city and the v-o-a both say it's crucial to get a new overflow shelter up and running, because it prevents people from being in

thanks jeff. looking around the nation... and president obama is set to meet with senate republican leaders today... to discuss the possibility of filling the vacant supreme court seat. it's the first time leaders have met since justice antonin scalia died unexpectantly last month... inciting a heated clash between democrats and republicans over who should appoint the next justice.

they plan to block any nominee from presdient obama... saying the next president should make that decision. despite the push-back... the white house says the president plans to make a nomination soon... but say he is still reviewing recommendations from his legal team. and this morning, sports-caster erin andrews will take the stand again in her civil lawsuit against a nashville hotel, and the man who admitted to stalking her. the suit stems from a 2008 incident where michael barret secretly recorded nude videos of andrews at a nashville marriott. in an emotional testimony... andrews said she found out about the videos in july 2009, when a friend called her. she's seeking 75-million dollars in the case. video clips from barrett's deposition were played, where he described renting hotel rooms next to andrews to shoot the videos. the marriot says barrett is solely to blame. barrett spent 2 and a half years in federal prison.
