6:46 am
let's get right to kraig debro, what have you been able to find out? >> reporter: i just talked to police and what i have learned is they still believe pot are suspicious but they are also saying now that both vehicles are stolen, which is a good indication that it is not connected to any of these other fires we had in this area since october 31st. fire crews got the second of two calls around 2:58 this morning. when they responded to the intersection crews spotted an suv on fire. it was out within minutes. they called out police, which is standard operating procedure. 12 minutes earlier firefighters arrived at another location. this is the scene of the first overnight fire. like the first fire investigators believe this vehicle fire started inside the cabin and not under the hood where an electrical malfunction could explain the cause. police told me this morning that if one of the vehicles is registered out of san rafael, that vehicle had not been
6:47 am
reported stolen but that is only because the owner had no idea it was missing. police did for the say what city the other vehicle was registered out of but confirmed it, too, was stolen. the fires are considered suspicious because thieves sometime abandon them and set them on fire. that appears to be the case in both these fires. >> the number of cases of whooping cough has jumped 500% so far this year. there were slightly fewer than 1500 infections reported as of last week, compared to just 300 last year. doctors say most children need to be vaccinated and many adults may need booster shots. five babies hey died from it so far this year. >> sal, we have had big problems today. >> that's right, we have been
