well, good morning to you. welcome to "mornings on 2." i'm dave clark. >> good morning. i'm pam cook. tori campbell has the day off. it's monday, august 9th. in the snooze, san francisco police are busy investigating two overnight shootings that happened near popular nightclubs. just a few hours ago, two women were hit by gunfire near columbia square near a nightclub. the other happened on mason street near several nightclubs that were closed at the time. tara moriarty just spoke to the manager of one of the nightclubs. she's back with his reaction. what did he say? >> reporter: that the club owners are extremely frustrating by this violence. he says his club is overly stringent when it comes to

security guards. he says people have become increasingly disappointed when the shootings happen outside the club. last night, the club here, ruby skye, is actually closed on sundays. and the club next door, slide, was closed at the time of the incident. gunfire erupted between 9:00 and 9:15 last night. police say it's possible the victims were not the intended targets. another shooting, blocks away after two women left the club and were apparently caught in the crossfire when two people were arguing on fulsom and harrison. this violence comes as mare i newsom is expected to sign a measure into law that would crack down on nightclubs. it was sparked by jelly's

shooting that happened back in july. this would prompt a permit to be taken out. we're live in san francisco, live -- live in san francisco, tara moriarty, ktvu channel 2 news. >> thank you, tara. we'll check back in with you in a little bit. oakland police say five people were wounded in an overnight drive-by shooting. that happened just before 11:00 on international boulevard. investigators say the gunmen may have used an automatic weapon. all victims are expected to survive but police are still looking for suspects and witness. a livermore woman faces an arraignment for allegedly

sexually abusing a minor. police say hubbs was a long- time friend of the boy's family. >> it's very difficult. these family members are known in town. she's known in town. as best we can, we're preparing the children when they go back to school. >> bail for her is $4 million. thirty-eight workers who went on strike earlier this month at an assistant living facility were laid off. the facility says they are not fired, there's just no place for them to work. they walked out because of pension, healthcare workers. we could know this week

whether gay couples will be allowed you to begin marrying again in california. the judge who overturned came's same-sex marriage ban could issue a stay blocking same-sex marriages from resuming while this old matter is appealed. governor schwarzenegger and attorney general jerry brown are both urging the judge to allow gay marriages to begin again immediately. a decision is possible within the next couple of days. work starts today to double the number of bike lanes in san francisco. but the work may a frustrate some people. paul chambers joins us now with the details. good morning, paul. >> reporter: good morning, pam. good news for bicyclists. bad news for motorists because they will be losing a lot today. the mayor will be here today when the first stripe is laid down at the intersection behind me here in san francisco. now, on friday, a superior court judge lifted a 4-year-old injunction which blocked the

city from going forward with new bike lanes. this lawsuit came about in 2006 on the grounds that city supervisors didn't do an official study. now with the injunction lifted, the city is able to stall new lanes for bicyclists in san francisco. something that some say will help those who use bikes instead of cars. >> tough times. people want to save money. maybe get some exercise in. it makes it more sensible. >> many residents navigate with cars and they push you off the. so it's a bit of a problem. >> reporter: there will be a lot of curbside, parking and traffic lanes in some areas. townsend, market, ocean avenue are some of the streets that will be affected.

cycling has increased in the city 53% since the injunction was put in place since 2006. the mayor will be out here around -- later this morning. paul chambers, ktvu channel 2 news. 7:06. it's taken years for it to happen but this morning a massive tunnel boring machine will start work on the fourth bore of the caldecott tunnel. a machine called the road header will start drilling from the east side. the entire two-lane tunnel will be about 3200 feet long. caltrans is hoping to have that fourth bore ready for traffic in about three years. speaking of traffic. let's check in with sal who is starting in san jose. what's going on, sal? >> we're just seeing traffic getting a little busier on 101

northbound approaching the airport. not too bad. it seems to even have improved the last 15 minutes or so. it goes up you will see slowing in sunnyvale. this morning's commute is not too bad. this is 8 0 north and southbound. that traffic moves along well. if you are driving at the bay bridge toll plaza, it's been nice and light for you. no major problems coming in to the city. less go to steve -- let's go to steve. fairfield, says low clouds. low clouds that far means we're done. west-southwest 20 even with the low overcast. southwest 6 at vacaville. vacaville is like the last outpost to get a sea breeze. once they get it, it's making it all the way to san francisco. concord, southwest at 10. napa, west-northwest 5. santa rosa says calm but there's a

lot of fog. sea breeze in play. the fog bank is up there 3,000 feet. it's really a cool pattern. even a little bit of mist. once the fog burns off, the mist starts. 60s and 70s on the inland highs. temperatures inland usually rocket up to the 80s and 90s but not this year. it's been foggy and cool, which means we have a very low fire danger and a spare the air dare. have we had any spare the air days? we need a north northeast wind to scour out some of the fog. that's not even close. big low at this time of year

mean the temperatures stay average. that record only 2008, except for 104 in 1997. 83 is average. mountain view, 71. 77 is average and san jose is 76. should be 4. 52 to 5. san rafael/napa at 52. san francisco 54. 55 sacramento. ukiah. record low maximum temperatures down on the coast in southern california yesterday and big thunderstorms erupted over tahoe yesterday. numerous reports of hail and some flooding at the 8950 junction there. that's associated with one low. the other low up there in the north. seattle, right there, right there. that's what lifted our fog. low clouds, mist, breezy once that burns off but temperatures not going very far. scictss, 70s, a few mit -- 60s,

tensions have growing between south korea and north korea. north korea reportedly fired a missile. all of this comes after a series of meetings between south korea and the united states. we're learning more about the killing of members of an international aid organization in afghanistan. alison burns joins us now with our washington, d.c. room with the latest on this. good morning alison. >> reporter: good morning, pam. this is new information. the head of the charity group that lost ten of its members of the massacre in afghanistan said he's still not sure why they were targeted by the

taliban. ♪ >> reporter: while it's a devastating loss for the group, the group says it will keep working in afghanistan. six americans, two afghans, a briton were shot. the attack prompted the am -- the bam as der to say this -- >> the murder demonstrates total disregard. >> reporter: the group was accused of spying and preaching cyst annie christianity. back to you. we have an update to an

emotional story that dates back 60 years. the recently identified body of a world war ii serviceman is finally back here in the bay area. he arrived at sfo, his body, just after 6:00 this morning. back in 1944, 24-year-old sergeant bonnissaile was flying a plane over germany when his plane was shot down. for years, his sister tried to find his body, contacting german authorities. using dna they were able to identify him and tomorrow he will be buried with full military honors. the military will perform a fly- over in his honor. there's word a that bp may have that blownout oil well permanently signed up by the end of the week. bp says a cement cap hardened over the weekend, so engineers can start digging the 100 feet of the relief well that's meant to close up that blownout well

for good. bp released a new estimate. they say the cost of that oil spill has risen to about $6.1 billion, including the relief well and paying out to those who lost income. members of the u.s. house of representatives are cutting close their vacations, to rush back to capitol hill to worken a jobs bill. this comes after the senate waited last thursday after the house had already recessed for the sum summer. now, this bill would prevent the layoffs of thousands of teachers of thousands of state and local government employees before the november election. the house may possibly vote on that bill tomorrow morning. well, the woman who claimed hewlett-packard's ceo sexually harassed her is surprised and saddened when he resigned.

she met mark hurd earlier and she said that she and hurd did not have an affair. mark hurd resigned after authorities investigated the sexual harassment complaint. they say there was nothing to support that complaint but they did find instances where hurd submitted false expense reports. they say there was one occasion where fisher was paid for work where there was no official work assistance. we're checking in on hp's stock this morning. it's down almost 7%, 3.15 to 42.85. at last ground -- the stock lost ground on friday, after ceo, mark hurd, announced his resignation. hewlett-packard -- analysts say

the allegations could further hurt company in the company. 7:1. if you still -- 7:18. if you still hold your cell phone while you drive, there is a warning for you. a crackdown is planned for tomorrow to catch you. the chp says those drivers are responsible for the highest number of crashes caused by those drivers not paying attention. there's a couple of possibilities. are they calling asleep? are they possibly under the influence of alcohol and drugs? as you get closer and make a closer observation, you notice they are texting or talking on the phone. >> now, the chp says in the last two years, more than 1200 crashes statewide have involved cell phones. the crash killed 16 people, injured another 850. another crackdown takes place on august 18th. well, electric car owners here in the bay area may soon have easier access to those charges stations.

the governor of connecticut

wants a special day of remembrance for those people killed in the workplace shooting. about 500 people you see here, they were at a candlelight vigil yesterday paying tribute to the eight victims. they were all shot and killed last tuesday by a coworker at a beer distributership who had just been fired. he called 911 before he killed himself. the governor wants a moment thi a.m. police believe two escaped inmates from arizona could be hiding in the yellow stone park air yaw. the two men got away from prison on july 30th and have been on the run ever since. this man's mother was arrested over the weekend. she's accused of helping her son. one of the inmates was connected to a deadly fire in new new mexico last week. a 14-year-old boy is nassing charges in connection to a fire that threatened 50 homes in southern california.

the fire started yesterday afternoon in santa clarita and was put out a few hours later. deputies say the boy confessed to accidentally sparking the fire when he dropped a lighter in dry brush while smoking pot. two others who refused to move away from the fire were arrested for obstructing firefighters. as the vote looms over the use of marijuana in california. a new poll shows it already plays a prominent role in saturday. 42% of adult icers say they do for medical reasons. another 39% said they use it recreationally. 60% of those polled said that they would -- it helps them relax or sleep. 24% say it stimulates their creativity. many users say marijuana has become more mainstream since it was legalized for medical use. let's get you to where you need to know. sal is watching interstate 80. >> it's getting busier between

welcome back to "mornings on 2." well, the next time you order a kids ago meal you may not get a toy. a controversial ban goes into effect this morning for parts of santa clara county. allie rasmus is with us for the somewhat confusing details. >> reporter: good morning. that's exactly what may happen to a lot of parents. they may find it confusing. this new ordinance only applies to residents in unincore -- unincorporated areas in santa clara county. this carl's junior is in santa clara but it is also in san jose city limits.

so it's not applying to the ordinance. this kids' meal that we purchased from carl's junior, we looked up the restrictions and it applies to 485 485 485 calories and -- 480 calorie limit. if you skip the fries in the kids meal and substitute those for apple, you could get the toy. some were split whether this new ordinance will discourage this eating. >> i don't know. parents are in a hurry. the kids are -- get hooked on the meal. >> reporter: you don't think it is because of the toy?

>> no. >> reporter: you think it may work? >> possibly. we just have to wait and see. >> reporter: now, santa clara's public health department will be in charge of enforcing this new ordinance. restaurants could face fines from $250 to $1,000 for violating the ordinances. this ordinance was introduced by supervisor ken yeager. it passed in may. he says santa clara is the first in the nation to pass something like this. he says one in four children are either obese or overweight. he hopes to set an example and hopes that other cities and counties will adopt similar measures. coming up, we'll talk about the fast foods in unincorporated county so the parents can check that. back to you. >> thank you.

7:32. one family in hayward is angry this morning after an alameda county sheriff's deputy shot and killed their pit bulldog. now, the dog's owner says his mother was walking last night when it happened. he says his mother opened the door. the dog ran out. he says before she could stop the dog, a deputy who was down the street fired shots at the dog. >> he got to right around the corner, by the mailboxes, and he seen the officer. i guess he started walking towards the officer and my mom told the officer, he's not a mean dog and he shot him. >> now, the dog owner's claim their dog, who had only three legs, was an inside dog and was shot seven times. the sheriff's department, which is confirming the shooting, will have to more to say later today. walnut creek police are asking residents to report any

incidents of indecent exposure after a flightenning incident yesterday at 2:00 in the afternoon near the barnes & noble. police say a woman was confronted by a man who exposed himself on a stairwell. police chased the suspect to duncan and broadway. officers say he has a significant criminal history and was on a parole history. there was a 12-hour manhunt for a robbery first reported at 12:20 saturday afternoon at the bank of america on stevens creek boulevard. the three suspects were armed and took an undisclosed amount of cash. k-9s from sunnyvale and san jose were called in. a chp helicopter was brought in. police say they will continue searching. this morning, vallejo police are out there looking for suspects in two separate weekend homicides. the latest one happened

yesterday afternoon. police found a man's body inside a white house at the deluxe inn on solano avenue. investigators say he was shot several times. still not clear what led up to that barely shooting -- deadly shooting. investigators are looking for leads in an earlier homicide that happened saturday night. investigators say a 22-year-old napa man was shot in the head while driving down beech street near central avenue. his foot hit the gas pedal, causing him to hit a parked car. the driver died at the scene. no one in the house was hurt. police need your help identifying an individual on a san jose freeway south of mckee road, that happened around 9:00 saturday night. a white chevy fired at a durango, and hits it four -- hitting it four times and

injuring the man in the backseat. well, tomorrow will mark one year since the disappearance of 6-year-old hasani campbell. in san leandro, a group who has helped to search for the boy, opened a new office. the citizens for the lost society has organized searches, vigils and fund rawzers in the -- and funds raisers in the case and stands ready to help others. >> whether a family member goes missing, the last -- when a family member goes miss, the last thing you need to worry about is fliers. how can we keep their names in the news media? >> police arrested the boy's foster father and mother on suspicion of murder. no charges were filed. they were eventually release. sources close to the case say police reinterviewed in the spring and plan to conduct

another search in the next few months. 7:36. cyclists have a reason to celebrate this morning but some drivers may not like this. work starts today to double the number of bike lanes in san francisco. paul chambers is there now with all of the detail. >> reporter: good morning. i guess it depends if you are driving that day or riding your bike whether you will like or dislike the changes coming to here in the city. this is where the mayor will be on hand later today when they lay down the first post injunction bike lanes in san francisco. now, on friday, a superior court judge lifted a 4-year-old injunction which blocks the city from moving forward with its plan for dozens of new bike lanes. the injunction came about when a lawsuit was filed against the city for allegedly not doing an environmental impact study. now they are able to install 34 miles of new lanes.

some say this will make the roads much safer for bikers. i think it would encourage more people to -- to use that form of transportation if they felt safer and i think bike lanes would do a great service towards that. >> i think safety should be number one. there are a lot of cyclists in san francisco that rely on their bikes to get to work. i'm one of them. it is a little bit of -- it is a little bit of a tradeoff. >> reporter: now, some of the streets that will affected are townsend, market, northpoint and ocean avenue. according to the san francisco bicycle coalition, they say biking has increased 53% since the injunction was put in place four years ago. paul chambers, ktvu channel 2 news. >> thank you, paul. well, some bad planners are questioning if speed is being given ply orty -- priority over

safety. they are concerned about express lanes between fremont and milpitas. this will restrict where drivers can enter and exit the diamond lanes. this is already used in los angeles and uc berkeley. they say the number of crashes are higher but this is the evenly way to make sure those who use this are charged tolls. let's go to sal. >> we have trackside delays between pleasant hill and la fayette. that's causing minor delays. trains are slowing down in the area. seven-minute delays. not too severe. let's take a look at the commute on 237 westbound, as you cross 880. it's a nice drive -- well, it's slow here but after the zanker road turnoff, it's a decent drive to sunnyvale. looking here, 880 northbound on

welcome back to "mornings on 2." we're taking a live look at the big board this morning. stocks are inching higher. investors are looking to the federal reserve for some direction but getting a little bit of a bounce from europe. there are signs that the economic recovery there is speeding up a bit. european markets are up. the dow, the nasdaq and the s&p 500 are up a little bit this morning. a new report on bay area home values, show the market is stabilizing but it's still challenging. according to zillow.com, bay area homes rose 4.1% in the 2nd quarter. that put the median home value at the 2003 level. but the report also shows that home seams slumped in about.of the region's zip codes.

.4 were foreclosures and .3 were sold. apple has had 61 cases of overheating with the nanos. some units have been warped by the heat. no injuries have been reported. this notice has been on apple's website last year. but it did require several clicks to get there. so the government made it mandatory they make this legal. saudi arabia began to block e-mail and messenger service on the blackberry last week. the united emirate willful suit in november. blackberry manufacturer, research and motion, says they

the discovery of two oriental fruit flies have prompted the agriculture department to start to spray today in milpitas and fremont. the spray will cover about 12 square miles with bayview drive on north, grade mall parkway on the south and center on the

west. now, the or oriental fruit fly is considered to be an exotic pest. agriculture officials say that right now, there's no quarantine but all it takes is eight fruit flies in the specific area to put a quarantine into effect. an east bay wildlife center that cares for injured and orphaned animals is in danger of closing its doors. the rescue center in oakland is being evicted because the owner is taking it off the rental market. the center cares for about 600 wild animals every year. if it closes, many of the animals will have to be ucket sunny skiesed. they have until the end of next month. 7:53. almost everyone agrees he's the greatest wide receiver in pro ball history. we're talking about jerry rice.

is delayed by about ten minutes in this area. 7:55. here's steve. thank you. looking at those traffic shots, i'm going to feed you a line from our control room. we have a touch of gray out there. >> that's a lot of gray. >> that's a lot of gray. low clouds, fog, cool conditions. the wind yesterday was just howling. west-southwest at fairfield, 20. you are saying so what. yeah, but they have low clouds. if it makes it that way far -- makes it that far, that's a sure sign. the second that breeze kicks in, the edge is taken off. huge low up in the pacific northwest. that's gonna dig all the way down in the northern sacramento valley. it this will e -- this will prevent us from getting warner.

good morning. welcome back to "mornings on 2." i'm pam cook. tori campbell has the day off. >> good morning. i'm dave clark. it's monday, august 9th. an overnight shooting near a san francisco nightclub comes as the city is on the verge of creating certain new

requirements for venues. ktvu's tara moriarty is in the district right now. >> reporter: we're clear on columbia alley. it's a corridor between fulsom and harrison. it's just a few blocks away from the nightclub, where the shooting happened. we spoke to the security manager this morning. he is actually a retired police officer and he tells us many are frustrated by the violence in the nightclub and are trying to work with the city about this. but sometimes he feels punished for something they have no control over. two women were shot after they left the club. they are expected to survive. they were caught in the crossfire between two men fighting near the club. it's not known whether the men had within to 10:15.

all of this shooting comes on the heels of a violence at jelly's in july. this prompted the city to shut down nightclubs with problems. mayor newsom is expected to sign that law into place. san francisco police say only 2% of the city's 1500 nightclubs are known trouble spots. despite the number the department is well coming the new ordinance but the security manager of 10:15 says the city should try to work with club observers -- club owners rather than against them. he says there should be body searches, body wands. we're live in san francisco, tara moriarty, ktvu channel 2 news. >> thank you, tara. 8:02. now, san francisco police are look also looking for suspects in a deadly shooting near union square. one woman was killed there.

a man and a woman were hurt. all of this happened shortly after 9:00 last night on mason near geary avenue. investigators say the three victims were shot in a barrage of gunfire. in this area, there's a lot of rounds fire. officers are investigating at this point. >> so far, authorities have not released the name of the woman killed. the other two victims are expected to survive. police say it appears the three did not know each other and it's possible they were not the intended victims. >> oakland police say five people were wound bounded in an overnight shooting that happened just before 11:00 p.m. on international boulevard. all five victims are expected to survive. but police are still looking for suspects and witnesses. a woman faces an arraignment for sexually molesting two

boys. investigators say christine hubbs allegedly allowed boys to fire pellet guns out of his car. 67 counts of abuse have been lobbed against hubbs. hubbs is a long-time friend of the families. >> it's a very difficult situation. the families are known in tine. she's -- in town. she's known in town. >> no juan hurt in the -- no one was hurt in the pellet gun incident. 34 employees who went on strike from an assistant living condition have been laid off. a spokesperson for piedmont gardens says they've not been terminated. there's just no place for them to work right knew.

they walked out over healthcare and pension issues. no new contract talks are scheduled. >> we could possibly know this week whether gay couples will begin to marry again here in california. the judge who overturned california's same-sex marriage ban last week could issue an order while there is an appeal. a decision is possible within the next couple of days. it's taken years for this to happen but this morning, a massive machine will start work on the fourth bore of the caldecott tunnel. drilling starts at 10:00. the 10-ton, 50-toot long machine will start drilling from the east side with engineers expecting to drill about ten feet away.

a controversial fast food toy ban goes in effect today. this is already creating confusion. allie rasmus has more hopefully to clear this up. >> reporter: the toy restriction does not apply to all kids' meals. the restriction applies to meal that have more than 480 calories, more than 600 milligrams of sodium. this kids' meal we just bought at carl's junior. if you buy the cheeseburger and the fries, that puts you over the 485 calorie limit. therefore, your child would not get a toy with the kids' meal. if you skip the fries and get a cheeseburger with orange juice then you would be under that limit and you would be able to get a toy for your child.

>> i think this will discourage people from this. >> reporter: why? >> because there's not a toy coming with it. if it's just a regular hamburger, i don't think they will find it as food. >> my kids eat happy meals at mcdonald's and they don't get the toys with the hal -- the happy meals with the toys in them. >> reporter: restaurants could face fines from $250 for a first offense up to $1,000 for multiple violations. santa clara county is the first in the nation to pass an ordinance like this. ken yeager proposed the incident. he says one in four kids in the county are either overweight or obese. the toy restrictions are a good way to disassociate a toy from a good meal. the ordinance only applies to

restaurants in unincorporated santa clara county. so there will only be a handful of restaurants affected by the ordinance. this carl's junior is in santa clara county but it's in san jose city limits. therefore, the restrictions and the ban don't apply here. so again, where you buy a kids' meal and what you order will make all of the difference when it comes to whether or not your child gets a toy with his or her meal. allie rasmus, ktvu channel 2 news. >> now we'll ally all hungry. can't get that warm. some areas do get some sun but you have to go up to ukiah. for many a good ten degrees below average. windy at times once the fog burns off. it's already breezy for some. sunny, already in the 60s, and 70s for many. the low cloud deck means temperatures remain below average. many by the coast are in the 60s and 70s but there's also a silver lining or positive with this pattern. our fire danger has been -- get that wind, stir things up, getting that stagnant air. temperatures while they are cool, they are beneficial in some ways.

>> reporter: good morning, pam. this is new, a group called the mennonite central committee has just wrapped up a news conference talking about the sacrifice of one of its members killed in the massacre of aide workers in afghanistan. he was a nurse. his name was glen. he was one of the ten aide workers shot and killed in northern afghanistan on their way to set up a medical camp. >> what he really loved about this assignment was the opportunity he had to interact directly with the afghan people and to say the positive impacts of their medical care. >> the taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack, arcticking the workers of being spies and trying to spread christianity. charges the charity group and the u.s. government deny. five of the workers have asked to be buried in afghanistan but first, the fbi is flying their bodies to the united states for autopsies. reporting live in wawrd, alison

burns -- in washington, d.c., alison burns, ktvu channel 2 news. the recently identified body of a world war ii servicemen is finally back home here in the bay area. the remains of sergeant john bonnisail left e of oakland arrived in san francisco at 6:00 this morning. back in 1994, the then 20-year- old -- the then pv 20-year-old was -- the-then 0-year-old was working and was killed. using dna testing they were able to identify his remains. tomorrow he will be buried in colma, at the military air force, with full honors. the military will perform a fly- over in his honor. bp says they could have the gull in the gulf of mexico -- have the hole in the gulf of mexico permanently closed up. all of this follows word that

the cement cap porn on top of the well hardened over the weekend. bp says the cost of that spill has risen to $6.1 million. that includes the relief well drilling, all of the cleanup and paying out claims to people affected by the spill. members of the u.s. house of representatives are cutting short their vacations and are rushing back to work on a new jobs bill. this comes after the senate waited until last thursday after the house recessed for the summer to pass the $26 billion jobs bill. this bill would prevent layoffs of thousands of teachers and state and local government employees before the november election. the woman who claims the hewlett-packard ceo, mark hurd, sexually harassed her now says she's surprised and saddened that hurd has resigned.

50-year-old jodie fisher met hurd when she was doing marketing. she said she and hurd have resolved her claim against him privately. she did say that they did not have an affair. mark hurd resigned, though, after hp officials investigated the sexual harassment claim complaint. they say there was nothing to support that complaint but they did find incidents where hurd submitted false expense reports for meals and travel. there was at least one occasion where fsher was paid for work where there was no official business. we're clerking hp's stock right now. it did -- we're checking hp's stock right now. it did -- it's at 3.70 a share. it lost ground on friday after

on what will be done this week to try to stem the violence. good morning, tara. >> good morning, pam. if i take a look behind me, you can see the crime tape and this is where the shooting happened last night. we're here between fulsom and harrison street. we're just blocks from the 1015 club around the corn her. we spoke to the security guard from that club. he's actually a retired police officer. he said he and others are frustrated by the violence. two young women were shot after being cross in the -- after being caught in the crossfire of shooting. those suspects are only described as well dress. it's not known whether they had previously ben to -- been to 1015. this all comes off the heels of a shooting there that happened

in july. mayor -- mayor newsom is expected to sign into law the ordinance to shut down those nightclubs that have violence. the security manager of 1015 says they try to work with club owners, and not in-- against them. if violence spills out on the street blocks away, he says there's little they can do about it. we also spoke to others who live in the neighborhood, they say the neighborhood is very sketchy. once it gets dark, they are not at awr surprised by happened. >> well, san francisco police are looking looking shooters

the ones over 480 calories an 600 grams of sodium. take a look at this kids' meal. if your child orderses the cheeseburger and the fries, that puts them over the 480- calorie limit. therefore, your childnot get a toy. but if your child substitutes the fries for an orange juice, they would get the toy. the supervisor who introduced this said the toys are a good way to go. >> it can be very confusing for parents going into these restaurants seeing how they might be able to order something where they might still be able to get the toy. but if the restaurants themselves would do that, i

think that would be the best. >> reporter: some santa clara county residents we talked to this morning had different.about whether this could discourage kids from eating fatty foods. >> i think that's the reason why. if it's just a regular ham burg ger with no toy, i don't think they will find it as good. >> my kids go to mcdonald's and they don't get the happy meals and they like the food anyways. so personally, i don't think getting rid of the toys is gonna do anything, personally. >> reporter: this only applies to restaurants in the unincorporated parts of the county. take this carl's junior. while it is in santa clara county, it's also within san jose city limits. therefore, it's not affected by
