he delayed sentencing for gene until july 27th. combs was convicted by a second jury of second degree murder. prosecutors say the two mistook garcia for a drug dealer who owed combs $50. federal investigators say they found contamination in two iowa egg farms responsible for 1500 cases of salmonella poisoning. they found rodent, maggots and seeping manure. two farms recalled 500 million eggs. in their report released today, f.d.a. officials said they still cannot speculate on how the eggs were contaminated and not only the farms violated

today a report came out showing person incomes rose less than expected in july. dow lost almost 141 points. nasdaq dropped 33. a group of federal judges including two from the bay area say they are not safe on the job. today they were in the nation's capital to ask for personal protection in the courtroom. >> we don't want to wait for a horrible incident to gain attention to this situation. >> two judge-associations are urging congress to consider more funding for court security. according to one of the judges there have been 200 threats against administrative law

judges over the past four years. many judges face stressed defendants in small rooms with barely a railing between them. >> when you sign up or the a policeman you know you run a risk. when you enlist in the military you know you put your life on the line. most federal workers did not expect that being a judge would put their lives or family members at risk. >> the judges say the security guard or bailiff is not enough protection. they are asking for more secure entrance, exits and park areas. the staff two handle hundreds of thousands of social security appeals and immigration cases each year are the once most at-risk. an attorney is offering free legal advice for anyone attending burning manifest valley in nevada that begins today. the attorney and other fans say federal officers are too heavy handed and are making arrests to quote, justify their existance. 50,000 people are expected to attend the festival this year.

talk about a case online they could find themselves in real trouble. we have a case and point. we are live tonight in south bay with the report. >> reporter: this is problem for courtrooms around the area and the bay area a. judge hopes one woman's recent post about a trial on facebook will be a lesson for others. facebook user let's you they what's on your mind. the judge says the answer should be nothing. >> it is common knowledge. don't talk about what happens in the courtroom. >> reporter: in the suburb of detroit is a judge removed a woman after a trial. going to be fun to tell the defendant they are guilty. the problem was the trial wasn't over. now the 20-year-old woman could be found in contempt of court. >> that's a violation of oath not to have contact with the outside world about the case. it could be a contempt sanction oring mistrial at a minimum.

>> reporter: courts are trying to catch up with technology. >> courts frequently will admonish jurors there is to be no texting, facebooking for tweeting about a trial while it is going on. it is becoming frequent. jurors are contacted after a case to find out why they made a decision or was there any inappropriate conduct in the jury room. >> this is a bad violation of your oath as a juror. >> reporter: the supreme court presiding judge points out they are warnings read to jurors have been updated to include social networking. >> some people think don't talk don't mean don't facebook. that's why we change the instruction don't talk to anyone includes electronic communication. >> reporter: the judge says the bigger issue in this case

appears that the juror prejudged the case before the evidence was presented. lawyers pointed out that it could be difficult do show they talked to someone else but online paper trails show juror misconduct. myspace is taken a page from facebook. social networking site says they'll allow users to see myspace items without leaving facebook. they'll also be able to share music, videos, game applications, links and photos across the social networking sites. it was in the weak of falling revenue and weak user growth. drivers who refused to give up their pay raises to help san francisco's city budget will have to put up money towards parking at the yard. $80 a month fee will go into effect in december. $950 a year out of pocket costs will amount to a third of the pay raise they have been asked

san jose international airport closed a main runway today. it will allow crews to begin construction on a taxi work projects. it should not impact schedules and should reopen by the end of the week. project is not expected to be complete until february. obama administration has begun to deploy the first wave of troops to promise to beef up border security. the ones in california are already on the job ahead of schedule. >> reporter: starting today the national guard begins their job on the border in arizona. the first of 1200 troops president obama called up to reenforce the southwest border. governor schwarzenegger expected our 260 troops to be on the border on wednesday. this afternoon a spokesperson says everything from training to deployment went without a hitch. they are ahead of schedule and have been in place since yesterday.
