it's cold out there. we have a lot of 40s and some patchy fog. once that burns off it will be sunny and warmer. highs today by the coast 60s and 70s. around the bay mid-70s then a little warmer inland. temperatures holding check the past few days. today upper 70s and low 80s. will we continue this warmer weather? the five day in five minutes. here's sal. steve, westbound 80 well to the macarthur maze. also this morning a look at the bay bridge tollplaza. i'm going to tell you coming up in the next traffic report tell you about why deer are being found on bay area roadways unfortunately more often. we'll have that report from the south bay. 6:01. back to the desk. topping our news it was a scare this morning. pg&e crews are now working to repair a natural gas line it was accidentally cut overnight by a construction crew. it happened near the intersection of camino pablo not far from highway 24. jade hernandez is out there on the scene. jade, what can you tell us? >> reporter: well, pam, i can

tell you right now we have some good news. we've heard about 20 minutes ago they were able to cap this line. there was some difficulty though overnight. this happened around 11:20 last nighttime. here's the reason for the difficulty. crews were digging at three different spots. in those three different spots they had to be capped before the crews could stop the leak. at first pg&e thought this was a six inch break around 11:30 last night. so the fire department evacuated about 14 homes. then as knowledge spread that the line was only two inches, those families were allowed back inside. the fire department said there was no reason to be concerned about this gas leak. the chief told us that the gas was dissipating into the atmosphere. >> i just think that there's this heightened awareness of the potential of natural gas leaks and what could occur. yeah. we responded just like we would have responded any way. i think that the public's going to be more concerned.

>> reporter: the city manager was out here earlier this morning. she had made contingency plans for drivers commuting this morning because traffic through the downtown area was closed off and there was worry about access to eastbound highway 24 shut down. but they opened brookwood so that drivers could drive past the theater and on to the freeway. you can see right now this morning this roadway is still blocked off at this point. if you're familiar with the downtown of orinda there's a wells fargo you go past, a convenience store, there are workers still trying to repair this two inch gas line this morning. but as i mentioned at the beginning of this report about 20 minutes ago crews were able to cap the line. that is good news. now the repairs can just start on the line. live from orinda, jade hernandez, ktvu channel 2 news. there have been at least two other incidents of natural gas leaks in the bay area over the last 24 hours.

last night a section in mill bray was closed for about two hours due to a gas leak there. the road closed in both directions from east mill bray avenue to hah cruz avenue beginning about 6:00 in the evening. yesterday morning a construction crew at cal state university east bay caused a natural gas leak on the first day of classes at the hayward campus. pg&e crews capped the leak in about two hours. classes were not cancel and had no one was hurt. a shootout in oakland outside of a bar and nightclub. the police are investigating. this happened around 2:00 a.m. at 14th and webster street. witnesses tell ktvu a man was shot during what appears to be an attempted robbery. a woman sitting in a parked car was also wounded. police say there were at least two gunmen, there could have been three. ktvu is out there now. we're going to have a live report on all of this coming up at 6:30. police searching for a man

who impersonated a police officer and robbed a woman. that happened tuesday. police say thvictim was walking on east 14th street when a black suv with flashing lights pulled next to her. that's when a man jumped out, handcuffed the strict and victim and stole $200 before releasing her. the suspect described only as african-american in mid-30s with a bald head and no facial hair. it cost taxpayers more than $144,000 to move the bart shooting trial to los angeles. hotel costs alone added up to $55,000. air fare came to $25,000. former bart police officer mesherle went on trial this summer after winning a change of venue motion. he will be sentenced in november for his involuntary manslaughter conviction in the shooting death of oscar grant. time now 6:05. well, the bad news for east bay bus riders came late last night. ac transit's board of directors

voted to eliminate most weekend and overnight service. that will reportedly save more than $11 million a year. ac transit is already slashed service twice this year alone. these cuts are the most drastic cuts so far. >> 25%. that's humongous portion. >> how dare you cut that lifeline for people who need to get to work. >> this was not an easy decision by anybody on the board. it was not an easy recommendation from anybody in the staff. we clearly understand what our mission is. >> ac transit is facing a huge budget deficit. they're also involved in a bitter labor dispute with the driver union. the latest cuts will begin in december. time now 6:06. we understand it's getting a little more crowded at the toll plaza. >> that's right. as a matter of fact, if you are on the commute to the toll plaza or going to be there soon you will see a little bit of a back up here developing in some

of the cash lanes. the cal tran fast track lanes doing welcoming in. those lanes always do end up doing a little better off overall than the cash lanes. you can always get fast track by going to fast track.com. move along and take a look at 880 north and southbound. north and southbound traffic here looking good near the coliseum. if you're going to catch your flight at oakland international airport shouldn't be a problem for you getting there right now. and if you're on the peninsula southbound 101 looking pretty good out of san francisco airport down through burl game and san mateo. no problem on 101. 280 also a nice drive on the peninsula. slowing on half-moon bay highway 101 at 92 very busy there. 6:07. here's steve. thank you, sir. we start off cool this morning. the headline will be from cool to hot. we've had below normal temperatures. the system came by and picked up the wind and brought in chilly readings. we have a cold morning. and some patchy fog. not only fog on the coast but fog inland as well.

it will burn off pretty fast. sunny, warmer today. but all signs point towards a warm to hot weekend especially sunday into monday. until then we're just gradually warming these temps up a little bit. the storm track is moving to the north. high pressure's finally building in. it's been a long time coming. it's been on vacation for a while. temperatures come up a bit. target forecasted to redwood city starting off rather cool 49 degrees. go 68 at noon. sunny, high of 75 today as temperatures coming up just a little bit. look at some of these lows. kenwood if you're listening, you're not watching, take a look, kenwood 40. forestville 42. north napa 46. lark spur that's chilly for them. about four or five readings in palo alto at 47. danville 48. eureka 43. upper 40s monterey santa barbara. the cool air filtered all the way down to southern

california. lose the fog on the coast and the temperatures drop off. you can see a little as it lifts up that system moves into the north. everything starting to move really far to the north. that's allowing the high to build in. patchy fog, chilly in the morning and then sunny and warmer. the breeze will still be with us but more out of the northwest. not that bad. but it will pick up later. 60s, 70s and upper 70s. low 80s. the five day chilly mornings but the afternoon highs are starting to ramp up. they'll really kick into warm hot gear if you will sunday monday. all right. thank you, steve. 6:09 is the time. in just hours crews will begin hauling away what's left of the homes destroyed in the san bruno fire zone. ktvu channel 2 reporter claudine wong joins us from san bruno with the story. >> reporter: well, pam, certainly a very significant warning for the neighborhood as the demolition gets underway and that obviously giving way to the rebuilding and getting this neighborhood back to some semblance of normal. this will be a complicated

process because of what has been left in this neighborhood. dean peterson is the san mateo county health director of the environmental health department. joining me now this morning. thanks for joining me. tell me about what happens this morning. >> this morning we'll get crews on to the properties and start to remove some debris. >> reporter: we saw you yesterday putting down water and certainly we've had a lot of talk about these are older homes, asbestos concerns, concerns about really what was burned up in this explosion and fire. tell me about the precautions you guys are taking today. >> today we'll be continuing to water down the properties. we'll also monitor very specifically the properties we're working on and the work crews will be fully protected. we want to make sure that nothing we do creates any additional environmental danger. >> reporter: you've got extra monitoring devices out here. is there a chance that if it gets too dusty and things start building up that you would shut down the work even temporarily? >> oh. we would immediately shut down the work. anything indicated there was going to be a problem. >> reporter: and as far as how long this will take. this is going to be a long process. you said cost a couple million.

but you guys are looking at the calendar closely. >> we're looking at the calendar closely. however we want to make sure we have quality and not speed. so we will go at it and we'll ensure that the properties are completely clean before moving on. absolutely we are concerned about the rains. >> reporter: i think you said october 15th maybe is your goal to get this all said and done. >> well, october 15th is the official start of the rainy season. so that's something that's always on my mind. we'll have to definitely be watching the meteorologists. >> porter: okay. thanks for joining us this morning. it all gets underway about 8:00 when they're moving the crews in. three houses today. they hope to get a house done per crew every day but they'll move slowly today because they're just getting started. hopefully get this neighborhood back on its feet before too long. we're just six weeks away from the november elections. we've got the latest poll numbers in the governor's race. we'll tell you what the results show for meg whitman and jerry brown. i'm scott mcfarland live in

washington. six months after landmark health reform passes in washington a new strong push to repeal it. details when the morning news continues.

good morning to you. welcome back. time now 6:14. we're now finding out that all nine troops killed in the helicopter crash in afghanistan earlier this week were americans. the pentagon says four of those killed were with the navy special forces. five others who were killed were army soldiers.

the taliban claimed responsibility for shooting down the chopper but nato says there were no reports of enemy fire in the area of southern afghanistan where that helicopter crashed on tuesday. today several new provisions of the health care reform legislation go into effect. republicans are announcing plans to repeal the law if they take over congress after the november elections. ktvu's scott mcfarland joins us from the washington d.c. newsroom with the details on the story. good morning, scott. >> reporter: good morning to you. in fact republicans in a few minutes unveil 2010 version of the contract with america called the pledge to america including a full repeal of this health care reform law. they have an event staged again in a few minutes at a virginia hardware store. democrats not to be outdone have an event of their own later today rolling out those new provisions of the law that take effect today. college graduates can now remain on their parents insurance until age 26. and patients with major health conditions can no longer be

denied coverage. here's both sides talking about it. >> all these things are designed not to have government more involved in health care, they're designed to make sure that you have basic protections in your interactions with your insurance company. >> the american people do not want this bill. they have never wanted it. mr. president, you forced it down their throat six months ago. >> reporter: six months after health reform passes and six weeks before election day, this health reform law still a huge hot button political issue. live in washington. scott mcfarland, ktvu channel 2 news. some insurance companies are already finding ways to go around a key element of health care reform. anthem blue cross, cig in will no longer sell individual health care policies covering children in california and some other states. that's because of the new rule that bans insurers from denying coverage to children who have pre-existing conditions. insurers worry that parents will wait until their child becomes ill to sign up for coverage and that would cost

insurance companies more money. children will still be able to get coverage as part of a family plan. time now 6:16. this morning president obama will address the united nations. he'll call on members to unite around the israeli palestinian peace process. in the u.n. speech yesterday the president said the u.s. will demand accountability from the country's it's trying to help. >> to developing countries this must be your moment of responsibility as well. we want you to prosper and succeed. it is not only in your interest, it is in our interests. >> now today in addition to the middle east peace efforts president obama will be talking about the nuclear threats from iran and north korea. an army investigation into a rolling stone magazine article about general stanley mcchris toll found it was not the general or top members of his staff making comments that led to his being fired.

the actions or comments of two civilians on the general's team were criticized by the army review for making disrespectful comments about president obama and vice president joe biden. governor schwarzenegger and legislative leaders will hold more budget talks today in southern california as the governor recovers from a cold. the big five meetings are in the governor's private office in santa monica. the governor has been away from sacramento since friday. now today the state budget is 85 days late. that's the longest california has ever gone without a new budget. the california governor's race is a dead heat. that's according to a new ktvu field poll. six weeks away from election day and the numbers show republican meg whitman and democrat jerry brown at 41% a piece in the poll with 18% undecided. now the ktvu field poll has shown a close governor's race ever since march. analysts say the candidates' campaign ads don't seem to have swayed voters one way or the other. but brown and whitman are scheduled to hold their first televised debate next week.

and ktvu channel 2 is the only bay area television station providing a live broadcast of next week's debate. that begins at 6:00 next evening. time now 6:18. let's go right to sal. you're getting busier as the morning goes along aren't you? >> that's right. also thank you for asking for messages. people always send me their things. the latest is the muni gates for the clipper card are too slow. the guy mind you thinks it's going to be quicker and a little collision. i'm sure muni's aware of this. a little bit of a growing pain. we'll keep on top of it. let's look at westbound bay bridge. last time i think i misspoke. the website to get fast track is bay area fast track.org. you can go there and get your fast track because you can see clearly the fast track lanes are getting through much more quickly than the cash lanes there. moving along and looking at 101 san francisco northbound 101 traffic good approaching the 80

split with no major problems. and westbound 580 already a little bit of slow traffic coming in off the pass but not too bad. 680 southbound there's a crash at castle wood on the shoulder. it's not causing a huge delay so far. 6:19. here's steve. all right. chilly out there. 40s and patchy fog. sunny, little warmer today. temperatures coming up slightly. fog is hit and miss. just some patchy fog on the coast and around the bay. inland we are getting reporting of napa county airport, sonoma county airport have fog. 60s, 70s and low 80s easing into the warm up. san francisco 55. go for a high of 67. it will be sunny. 46 santa rosa and napa. 49 livermore. even san jose an even 50. you know about a mile away upper 40s. saratoga upper 40s. fog and sun a little warmer. one more system just kind of clips the pacific northwest.

a little breezy at times. still out of the west turning a little northwest but 60s, 70s, upper 70s and low 80s. and then another chilly morning on friday. then we start to warm it up inland. coast will take longer but upper 80s and 90s by saturday. then all signs point to warm to hot conditions across the board sunday and monday. pam and dave. new figures just released by the labor department show an increase in people filing for unemployment. first time jobless claims rose by 1200 last week after four weeks of flat or declining figures. on the news the futures headed lower indicating a lower opening on wall street. european markets are open right now. and they started trading lower as well. we are learning this morning that block buster has filed for bankruptcy protection. the video rental change managed to strike a deal with creditors reducing its $1 billion debt to about $100 million. block buster has been losing ground to subscription services such as the bay area's netflix. the company says it does plan to keep its stores and kiosks open while it reorganizes

finances. still ahead, generations of the same family serving time. >> this is my junior. he's in pelican bay. this is my baby boy. he's in so lee in valley. >> what inmates are now doing to break a vicious cycle of crime. plus the reason some say a new push to end violence at san francisco nightclubs doesn't address the real problem.

good morning. bay bridge getting pretty busy now especially in the cash lanes. the fast track lanes moving well. no problems on the bridge right now. yesterday we had a horrible morning. today still looking okay. keep your fingers crossed. we'll be watching it for you. 6:25. back to the desk. thank you, sal. the city of san francisco wants to make entertainment promoters more accountable for violence that occurs at their venues. supervisor david proposing an ordinance to require registering with the entertainment commission. if there's a problem with the event they would then have the power to require criminal background checks for promoters and its staff. promoters could also be

required to carry commercial liability insurance and also file security plans. >> it's absolutely designed to have a minimal impact on almost all promoters and almost all events. it would only kick in if there were problems at particular events. >> now some promoters say the ordinance won't stop the violence that occurs outside the nightclub. the public safety committee plans to review the ordinance in about a month. time now 6:25. a new focus this morning on a disturbing trend. this involves convicted criminals and their children. new information indicates that almost half of all inmates in the united states have parents or relatives that are in jail which makes their children more likely to end up in prison as well. that's the case of 47-year-old daryle hill of oakland. he's serving a life sentence in san quentin. he followed his father's footsteps. and now daryl's two sons are also doing time. >> when i did get involved in robberies, i did feel that i

had the right to do it. you know not because nobody owed me anything, it was just a lifestyle i had grew up in. >> now to try to break that cycle some san quentin inmates are now taking part in a program that's designed to help them see how their criminal behavior effects their children. sociologists say more mentoring programs for children of convicts can also help along with better education and jobs. well, there's a new development in a teenage tragedy in marin county. it's tied to a discovery inside the car involved in a deadly crash. and what led to a shootout near downtown oakland following a nightclub outing. also stock futures are now falling following a report that was released one hour ago. here's a live look at traders on the new york stock exchange. the opening bell up next.

>> which is nice. we certainly have issues right here in the united states. so the nasdaq welcoming the clinton global initiative. looks like as we can see lowering after the disappointing weekly job numbers. we'll talk about that in just a bit. right now say good morning to you. thank you for joining us here on the ktvu morning news thursday september 23rd. i'm dave clark. >> i'm pam cook. time now 6:30. we are following developing news in oakland. police are out there investigating an early morning shootout where two people were injured outside of a bar. we're outside there right now. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. it happened outside caribbean city. people filing out of this club around 2:00 a.m. down the street, see where that light is? that's where the shootout happened. looking for two shooters and possibly more than that. up to seven people pulled out guns and opened fire here around 2:00 in the morning.

two in the front window of a bank, rear window of a white chevy and the front windshield of a an suv. two people also shot. according to a witness we spoke with this morning the motive was attempted robbery. when the victim refused he was shot twice. the unidentified man was taken to the hospital. police say he has nonlife threatening injuries. those shots set off a chain reaction of gunfire. police say at least two people squared off on opposite sides of the street here in the 1400 block of webster. one man armed with an ak47. meanwhile the man across the street returned fire with a handgun. one bullet pierced the window of the suv. the bullet grazed the woman sitting inside. she is going to be okay they say. still a frightening experience. coming up we're working on trying to find out who the victim was. people here say he was a local rapper often performed in downtown oakland. live in oakland, ktvu channel 2 news. just a short timing a pg&e

crews were able to cap a natural gas line that was accidentally cut overnight by a construction crew in orinda. it happened not far from highway 24 just before 11:30 last night. the construction crew was working on a major city road paving project. somehow cut into a two inch natural gas line. about a dozen homes were evacuated for a short time as a precaution. they were later allowed to return. pg&e is now working to repair the gas line. the father of an oakland teenager who was gunned down near their home is urging the shooter to turn himself in. 17-year-old raymond justice was shot tuesday night. he was a junior at life academy high school. the school's principal says raymond had a 3.3 grade point average and plan today go to college. raymond's father says his pain is indescribable. >> hurt me so bad.

whoever sneaky person to shoot him in the back of his head, coward. come to us. and meet his death. >> police are not releasing details but do say there was an altercation before the shooting. a $10,000 reward is now being offered for information leading to an arrest. time now 6:33. charges have now been filed against a novato teenager involved in a deadly crash. the 16-year-old novato high school student whose name is being when with held is accused of vehicle manslaughter and driving while intoxicated. police say they found liquor and open beer cans inside the car. 16-year-old broth killed in that crash. tonight family and friends will hold a vigil to remember him. it begins at 7:00 p.m. at our lady of loreto church. the funeral for him will be held tomorrow.

walnut creek police are working on a sketch of a man who tried to lure a 13-year-old boy into his car. it happened at a shopping center at oak grove road shortly after 4:00 p.m. on tuesday. the boy tells police that a man pulled up next to him and said his mother sent him to pick him up. the car was a dark blue mid- sized chevy suv. police say this case is not related to similar incidents in walnut creek and other east bay cities in recent weeks. two men are in the hospital this morning with serious injuries after falling from a rugged cliff along the santa cruz county coast. the accident happened yesterday afternoon at panther beach. cal fire says the men fell 25 feet down a cliff on to the rocks. now the brother of one of the victims says the two men were climbing up the cliff and slipped. a fire house opened 60 years ago is scheduled to shut down one week from today. the golden gate national recreation area will close the

fort cronkite fire station. it's part of a federal plan to disban the fire department. service will be contracted to a neighboring fire district. time now 6:35. the public has rejected a controversial proposal to build a luxury hotel in san francisco's preskid owe. this project was the focus of a public meeting last night. the plan proposed by the preskid yo trust calls for 12 new buildings use up to about 90,000 square feet. the city already has enough hotels and another one isn't needed in the middle of the national park. san ramon police looking for suspects who have been stealing the mail. investigators searched a house on perry road in union city. they removed some items from that location but haven't made any arrests. police say the thieves broke into several mailboxes in san ramon. they toll checks and may even be responsible for identity theft. police in berkeley today will crack down on bicyclists

who don't follow the rules of the road. officers will patrol the south campus area between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. bicyclists are expected to follow bicycle laws. violators may be cited. this crack down is part of a program design today reduce the traffic collisions in the city by at least 10%. now 6:36. sal is checking in on the grade. how does it look? >> it's pretty good. remember the last few days we have had the new express lane and things have been slow. but right now it's actually looking okay here on 680 heading south despite an earlier crash on the shoulder. it is not that bad. things seem to have settled down. people who use the new express lane seem to be getting the hang of it. and the rest of you who don't are also okay so far. let's move along and take a look at westbound 80 -- i'm sorry northbound 880 and southbound 880. that traffic is moving well up to the bay bridge. westbound 80 no problems there.

westbound 80 from vallejo to richmond looks pretty good so far. not a big slow down developing just yet. getting more crowded though. same thing for marin county if you're driving in from novato down to san after ill so far looks okay. 6:37. here's steve. sal, thank you. good morning to you all. rather cool out there. patchy fog around but overall today's going to be mostly sunny and warmer day. some 40s i'll show you in a second here. the headline is from cool to hot. the hot won't be until the weekend. start with a cool morning and patchy fog. not only near the coast but inland. that will burn off fast. sunny and warmer today. easing it into the weekend. all signs point to warm to maybe hot conditions to close to 100 possibly by monday as we welcome in fall. temperature wills start to warm up. that's the way it works. storm track is moving north. can actually see right there everything's lifting. still a couple weak systems brushing us to the north. that's why we're not rushing into any warm up. we're easing into it.

up. patchy fog, sunny, breezy. nothing compared to the last couple days. temperatures near seasonal averages for some or still slightly below. tomorrow warmer and warmer on saturday. there's your warm to hot on sunday and monday. thank you, steve. it's now been two weeks since the pipeline explosion in san bruno. in just two hours work starts to remove the home destroyed in that fire. there are some concerns though that this demolition work may kick up toxins along with the dust. >> we know the material contains levels of metal, potential asbestos, all sorts of other chemicals. we want to make sure as the material is handled it's not going o blow off the property and become a public health problem. >> it will cost between $30,000 to $40,000 to demolish each house. san mateo county plans to bill the insurance company. time now 6:40. new information about one of

ac transit's board of directors voted. they're going to eliminate most weekend and overnight service. ac transit is facing a huge budget deficit. they're also in the bitter labor dispute with its drivers union. several new provisions of the health care reform bill and legislation take effect today. there are no more lifetime caps on medical costs, adult children can stay on their parents health plans until the age of 26, and the insurance companies can no longer deny coverage to children with pre- existing conditions. homeland security secretary says al qaeda and its allies are likely to attempt small scale less sophisticated terrorist attacks in the united states. in testimony before a senate committee she said it's extremely difficult to detect such threats in advance because they require less planning. the sinking of the titanic was caused by a simple steering mistake. that's what a new book is

saturday. then everybody gets in on the act on sunday and monday for warm to hot conditions. all right. thank you, steve. star bucks coffee drinks are getting more expensive. the world's largest coffee chain is raising prices to keep an increasing cost of coffee beans. it will only effect labor intensive drinks. most basic coffees andest press sews will stay the same. the price of packaged coffee including those in the grocery stores will also go up. let's check in on wall street. again the weekly jobless claims were unexpectedly higher. we've had quite a few months of flat or even lower numbers for weekly jobless claims. this increase was quite a surprise for most analysts. and the dow jones as you can see we take a live look at the big board down about 63 points to 10, 676. similac recalling millions of containers of top selling baby formula because of concerns about an insect contamination. the recall effects some lots of

8-ounce, 12.4-ounce and 12.9- ounce containers of powdered formula. the liquid formula is not effected. his salary is more than $350,000. but the city works for is broke. we're going to compare salaries of city managers here in the bay area. and wasn't gone for long. the jam packed but controversial popular san francisco sandwich shop is making a come back. enforcement executives from all over the country testifying on capitol hill. davis will take part in a senate committee hearing. they're looking into the need for a nationwide public safety network. the uc berkeley chons already announced another round of job cuts coming. 200 administrative jobs will be cut early next year. this will save the university $20 million. that's on top of 600 positions already eliminated since last year. we're now learning that the financially strapped city of vallejo has the second highest paid city manager in the bay area. a newly released study of california's city managers salaries shows san ramon city manager is the highest paid at $354,000. but vallejo city manager comes in not far behind at $351,000. that compares to san francisco's city manager salary of $250,000. vallejo made headlines when it filed for bankruptcy and it continues to struggle financially closing fire

stations and laying off police officers. time now 6:54. hey, sal, the commute is heavy everywhere right? >> yeah. most are getting more crowded dave and pam. good morning once again in case you're just joining us holding your breath about the bay bridge not all that bad today. yesterday we had kind of a tough one. today seems more typical. it's backed up for about a ten or maybe 15 minute delay. off you go into san francisco with no major problems. also this morning if you're on 880 in oakland that traffic is moving along very well. there are no major problems here. driving up westbound 237 the traffic is doing okay here on 237. a little slow as you can see obviously. there are no major problems as you drive across. traffic actually is looking pretty good as well. seeing some of the fog increase in the last couple hours but come up just a bit. rather chilly out there this morning. a lot of 40s end up with 60s by the coast, 70s around the bay.

forced to close because it was too popular will now share a space with another restaurant. ike's place is what it's called. closed earlier this month after neighbors complained about the long lines of noisy customers. now the owner and his 30 employees will share space with a restaurant right around the corner called lime. that could be trouble ease well. lime also has a track record for complaints about noise and drunken crowds that gather outside. well, the bart board of directors plans to vote today on whether to rename the pleasant hill bart station. there's a push to call this a pleasant hill contra costa center bart station to represent the adjacent transit village across 140 acres. now it's estimated that name change would cost more than $400,000 to update the maps, the schedules, the signs, brochures and the agency's website. it's almost 7:00. coming up next here on mornings on 2, in just hours work gets
