an earl fire in a warehouse destroyed memorabilia owned by neil young. young's representatives have been at the scene all morning to salvage what they can. jade hernandez joins us with an update. >> reporter: good morning. neil young's representatives have been here this morning for hours. three of them walk out and walked past the media. none of them wanted to talk to us. but we were told that luckily no one died. no ones was hurt.

take a look. this is the warehouse that caught fire overnight. now, we did have video of smoke and flames that we just got from firefighters. hopefully we'll be able to show you that in a second. but here it is right here. firefighters caught this on camera before and after they were able to get in the building. neil young packed his 12,000- footwearhouse with memorabilia from his days on the road, half a dozen vintage cars and guitars and musical equipment. this fire broke out before 3:00 this morning and it quickly grew to a three-alarm blaze. firefighters contained blaze to the front of warehouse. the belmont fire department salvaged at least 60% of the items inside. the estimated damage is set at $1 million. it's not being considered suspicious, although the cause is still under investigation. >> it will be a significant

shooting fire in west oakland is in police custody right now. no one was hurt in the shooting, which happened at 7:30 last night, at the intersection of west and sycamore officers stoppened a man and woman while they were walking and they say for unknown reasons the man pulled out a gun and started shooting and officers did did not fire back. police are searching for a driver of someone who hit an officer at 22nd and bartlett. police responded to screams at this area last night. when officers ran toward the car, the driver sped toward him an hit him. officers fired tots to the car -- shots to the car. the officer is expected to be okay. a pg&e man is apologizing when using a fake name when

involved shooting and there are two witnesses who say they saw the whole thing but they are not willing to tell their entire story. ktvu's kraig debro is here to explain why in this live report. good morning, kraig. >> good morning, dave. we're at the trass be avenue in the city of oakland. the other street is seminary, it is where the officer- involved shooting took place last night. we did speak to two withins. they told a very compelling story. no reason not to believe them. but they said they wanted money you and that's against the policy of ktvu news. they said around 9:45 last night, between 9:30 and 9:45 last night, they saw a man run down trask avenue. the man fled and tried to get over the fence.

some of his clothes got caught. at the two officers approached him they were telling him not to move, not to move. and the man continued to move as if to struggle. the officers open fire on him shot him. one officer fired six times, one officer, one time, possibly more than that. >> there was a foot chase and during that foot chase, officers discharged their firearms, striking and killing the man. >> that disturbance was a -- was a call for a domestic dispute in front of a laundromat locate order bancroft, just around the corner from us. we went over there, we saw some evidence that there were some

fire department. firefighters caught this on fire before and after they were able to get inside the building. neil young packed this 10,000 to 12,000-footwearhouse with memorabilia. inside, guitar, half a dozen cars and 12-feet high racks of musical equipment and boxes and boxes and boxes. this fire broke up before 3:00 this morning and quick i grew to a two-alarm blaze. the bellmont san carlos fire chief told us that he salvaged at least 60% of the items inside. the estimated damage is set at about $1 million. it's not being considered a suspicious fire, although the fire is still under investigation. >> a lot of storage is in there. a lot of boxes. so we'll be going through each one with the family representatives and assisting them and moving them into a different location on quarry

this morning, oakland police are investigating a fatal officer-involved shooting. it happened shortly after 9:30 last night right near the intersection of bancroft andras u.k. investigators say it happened after officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a neighborhood lawn mow mat. officer say they encountered a man would was in a heated argument with a woman. they say he ran off once police arrived. >> during the foot chase, officers discharged their firearms, striking and killing the man. he's 37 years old. >> it's still not clear why the officers started shooting but oakland police officials say they don't believe the man who was shot had a gun. the officers were not hurt.

minor injuries and is expected to be okay. family and friends are grieving this morning over the sudden death of former police chief alex fagan. he was in london when he suffered a heart attack yesterday. he just turned 60 on november 2nd. fagan became police chief in 2003, served for about a year and was known for his sense of humor and someone who knew how to get things down. he also made headlines in the fa cheetah gate scandal involving three off-duty police officer, including his son works got in a fight with two men over a bag of steak fa hee tis. fagan was accused of covering up the incident but those charges were dis-- were dismissed. an autopsy will be conducted in the next few days. a pg&e manager is apologizing while trying to use a fake name at the company's

we'll have warmer temperatures. we're following developing news. we're still watching off the coast of mexico almost 4500 carnival cruiseship passengers and crew members are stranded this morning. we're talking about the cruise ship "splendor." it was about 200 miles south of san diego yesterday when there was a fire in the engine room. tug bets are expected to -- boths are expected to -- boats are expected to reach the ship today. the cruise line says toilets and cold-running water were restored overnight. cold field is -- cold food is being provided to those 4500 people. the guests will get refunds. we'll have more when we come back, including the update on the -- on the three-alarm fire that has a roxin' -- rock

an early-morning warehouse fire in san carlos has caused -- has caused at least a million dollars in damage. neil young used the warehouse to store memorabilia including vintage cars and paintings that he collected over the years. jade hernandez has been at the scene all morning and joins us

live with more. good morning, jade. >> reporter: what looked like a warehouse was more of a music keepsake box. he saved everything from his guitars to his prized cars inside. someone passing by noticed the flames and called the bellmont fire department. the fire caused extensive damage. firefighters were able to save about 60% of what was inside. luckily, we can show you this, this morning. firefighters caught this on camera before and after they were able to get inside the building. the estimated damage is set at about $1 million. but it's not being considered a suspicious fire this morning, although the cause is still under investigation. the building does not have a sprinkler testimony we're told by the chief because of the age of the building. that's not unusual. that's what's trapping -- happening right now. there were film canisters moved this morning.
