entered his plea. the prosecutor says he is sure authorities have the right man. >> we're going to dot every i, cross ever t. but in terms of trying to prove the case without a doubt, we have all the information we need. the body of cate horran was found inside her apartment. holland got inside by pre pretending to be a utility worker checking for a gas leak. craig carlos valentino brought the morning commute to a halt when he threatened to blow up the bridge because of marriage issues and accusations of infidelity. his wife of 22 years says the marriage had been ending for some time. >> we're all concerned about him. he's not a terrorist, he's a man who's been working very hard for his family. and just everything collided at

one time. and he just must have snapped. >> the chp says carlos valentino faces several charges including federal criminal threat and possession of a firearm. he is said to be arraigned on monday. and there's new developments in the case of a man shot and killed by officers in oakland. protesters gathered for a second straight day in connection with this case. >> reporter: we found out a lot of information within the past hour. we just found out within the hour, derrek jones was taken into police custody. derrek jones brother left the scene, here's the look at the video. it shows police taking one of jones brothers away in a police cruiser. jones brother left the vigil just before 5:00. we're being told he's been detained on suspicion of dui.

now we can come back here live, you can see there's still a candlelight vigil and a makeshift memorial in honor of jones. >> we want them to know that we're not going any where. and we'll do this as many days as is necessary. >> reporter: for the second day in a row, members of the community and derrek jones held a peaceful protest. something they will continue to do while the officers keep the identity of the officers a secret. >> we can't say to the community that we're going to make sure that it's investigated independently and we're going to do everything we can on police training to try to prevent any kinds of incidents like this in the future if it turns out that we're wrong. >> reporter: the shiny object that once first thought was a weapon was an electronic scale,

names we will definitely pass those along to you. police wants bart to cover the costs. council president pruner says bart should take responsibility since one of its officers was responsible. the city estimates the overtime pay from three demonstrations fog demonstrations from one of the shootings cost $15 million. employees of defense contractor bae said they heard gunshots just after 10:00 a.m. santa clara and san jose police rushed to the area near coleman avenue. they say they haven't found any evidence of a shooting. bae recently laid off about 100 employees but company officials say they haven't received any threats. friends of a san francisco nursing student are trying to

save him from being deported. supporters of steve lee rallied outside barbara boxer's office to keep lee from being sent back to peru where they say he has no family or friends. lee's attorney says that will happen on monday. the 20-year-old city college student came to the united states on a tourist visa when he was 12. his father family was later denied -- his family was later denied political asylum. >> all he wants to do is have an education and grow up here and make something of himself. he wants to be a nurse, he wants to give back to society. >> reporter: lee is being detained in arizona. he was arrested one week before congress failed to vote on the dream act. for the second time this week, tesoro's refinery is

investigating a problem. today's incident involved a sulfuric acid spill. 84-gallons of acid leaked from the plant. the spill was contained and no injuries were reported. a shelter in place order was issueded for near by communities. it is one of the first decisions that parents of newborn boys have to make, whether or not to circumcise their child. rob roth is live in san francisco tonight with more on this, rob. >> reporter: frank, next november san francisco voters will not only be electing a new mayor, but they may also have to decide whether to outlaw circumcision. >> there's going to be a ballot initiative. >> reporter: his name is goldfield, he's 58 years old, retired and has no children. today he stood on the corner of castro and market street asking

passers by their opinions about circumcision. >> are you from san francisco. >> reporter: goldfield is trying to get a measure that will make it a violation to perform a circumcision. >> it would give parents pause to look into the matter much more closely to see what they're doing to their child. >> reporter: circumcision is taking the foreskin. >> circumcision for a male is a cosmetic procedure. >> reporter: many physicians say they don't have a strong opinion on the procedure and let the family decide. >> from a medical standpoint it's hard to find a reason for

stick fake $25,000 bills all over the ground back in august to promote the online game mafia wars. the maker of the game, san francisco based zinga didn't know about it. the city spent nearly $2,000 to clean up those stickers. governor arnold schwarzenegger today blamed lawmakers and california voters for the $6 billion deficit in the state's budget. the budget gap was announced yesterday after the spending plan was approved. he warned legislators repeatedly to make spending cuts. he also blamed the passage of proposition 32 which prohibits the state from borrowing from local governments. >> the bottom line is, we can only lead the horse to the water. and i've tried to do that and you can't make it drink. >> democratic elect jerry brown says he wants to work with governor arnold schwarzenegger on the deficit. a special session has been

foreclosures made their biggest decline in a year in october. data based reality tract said today the number of properties taken back by banks fell by 9% from the month before. foreclosure filings fell by 4%. the decline is the largest since october of last year. santa rosa's technology posted record profits today. compared with the same period last year. santa rosa unit makes technology to test most of the wireless phones until phones in the world. santa clara based chip maker intel says it will raise

its dividend by 25%. both companies are markers if you will for the broader technology spending and investment. despite the promising reports from intel, prices continued their retreat. the dow was up 91 points closing at 11,193. the nasdaq dropped 37 closing at 2,518. this weekend, bay area crowd fishermen are hoping that a large sprout will come to an end. tom vacar joins us now. he's at san francisco fisherman's ward on what fishermen are expecting. >> reporter: the fleet, it is packed. provisions and loaded for crab. all day fishermen loaded their crab pots on deck. while others cut and containerized squid bait that

caltrain may be facing budget issues but that's not stopping the agency from spreading some joy during the holidays. the transit district is conducting a toy drive. you can drop off new and unwrapped toys from now until december 6th at the district's headquarters in san carlos, santa will still be on hand to distribute the toys to the kids. it is show down time tonight between the top two high school teams. delasale and cal high are undefeated. >> and to put it into perspective, de la salle has not lost to a team in san francisco. >> the schedule making doing a

great job of timing it to have this group meet 9-0 to 9-0. de la salle now taking the field. this place was packed before the junior team. 9-0 the perfect storm, this was a scheduling dream. de la salle has been here before. as we said, no northern california team has beaten spartans in 19 years. de la salle, they don't rebuild, they simply reload. >> we're happy on the way we've been coming in lately. we put in a good week of practice. championship teams can hang together and put it together at the end of the year. they don't fatigue they just keep their nose at the grindstone.
