>> i'm ken wayne. a manhunt is underway this evening for a man wanted in connection to a double-homicide in fairfield. police say the killer was lying in wait, and gun downed his ex- girlfriend and her new boyfriend. ktvu's ken pritchet is live with the latest on the case. >> reporter: neighbors say the female victim had been stalked about her ex-boyfriend after an abusive relationship. information at was not given to police until it was too late after this double-homicide. the neighbors at this apartment complex looked over the scene, but there was nothing to see. patricia bosworth said she heard several shots. >> i was laying on the couch in the living room and i heard bang and a woman screaming and i woke james up and said gunfire and we heard two more. >> reporter: police say the

woman's exboyfriend, 59-year- old de leon killed both victims after 1:00 this morning. witnesses say de leon was hit hying behind the pickup, waiting for the victims to come home. bosworth says she saw the suspects seconds after the killings. >> he just stood there. and then he went this way. >> reporter: and ran away? >> and ran all the way around with the gun in his hand. >> reporter: police say deleeoon may be driving this white dodge van with a blue stripe on the side. >> we have a local address for the suspect as well as some possible destinations he may be enroute to. >> reporter: there are a number of cameras around the complex and there were witnesses. this witness said when she heard the shots, she knew. >> told my husband he came back and killed them, because he promised to come back and kill them and he did. >> reporter: alpha and police say de leon had confronted his ex-girlfriend and her new

boyfriend yesterday and that encounter ended with deleon running away before police arrived and had these parting words. >> he said he would not stop until he killed every single one of them. >> reporter: avila said that the victim told her she was stalked by de leon. a restraining order was issued by a judge to the female victim against deleon, but police say that had not yet been served to the. a suspect serve is also underway in san pablo in connection with a fatal shooting interest. police say a fight broke out last night between a group of women own shasta avenue. shots were fired and 24-year- old reuben cannon of oakley was killed while sitting in his car. police say he was not involved in the fight. witnesses say cannon was shot multiple times by one person. police have not yet identified a suspect in that case. san josi police say they

have arrested two known gang members in connection with a triple shooting this summer. the two suspects were both arrested thursday night on murder and attempted murder charges. they are accrued of sit shooting and killing 26-year- old phillip ayala and 27-year- old alex rodriguez of the fairways on san antonio court back on august 28th. police are withholding the name of the third victim who suffered gunshot wounds to protection her identity. firefighters in the east bay today battled a deadly house fire. started shortly after 11:00 in richmond in the home of 400 block of mclaughlin street. authorities have not yet released the name of the victim, who was a woman. fire officials say neighbors found the woman on her front porch and moved her away from the fire, but efforts to treat her failed and she was pronounced dead at the scene. there is no word obwhat caused the fire. two men and their dog were rescued this afternoon from a cliff near san francisco's lands end.

the national park service says rescue crews were called to the spot east of the eagle's point around 2:20 this afternoon. officials say the men become transafter wandering into a closed area of the park possibly to chase after the dog. no one was hurt. well, the crowd was large and thankful. struggling families today lined up on the peninsula to get everything needed for a great holiday male. ktvu's john sasaki is live in san mateo with more on today's big food giveaway. the samaritan house was a good samaritan for families across the area today. >> reporter: a sunny day helped to brighten spirits in san mateo today, but perhaps that was just the icing on the proverbial cake since many received much-needed holidayed into donation. >> i'm on disability and without the samaritan house, myself and a lot of people

would be in a four spot. >> reporter: they hosted a shop for free day for families in need. >> i'm a single parent and i have custody of my grandkids and we don't even know how we're going to make it through christmas. last year was really hard. >> reporter: and the food selection was just what the families ordered. >> they start with pasta, tortillas, cereal, fresh vegetables, onions and carrots and apples. >> reporter: but canned food and vouchers for turkeys. >> all of this food is donated by second harvest and the community and we couldn't do it without the support of the community. most of the you see today are volunteers. so it's the community helping the community. >> reporter: organizers say the good news is that the demand caused by the economic downturn has leveled off, but the bad news is that it's twice as high as it was a couple of years ago. francis campos invited us to her home where we watched her organize the degrees she picked

up for her family of seven. >> i'm grateful from everybody who donated and samaritan house needs a lot more house. >> reporter: samaritan house officials say they always need more donations and volunteers. these volunteers were clearly moved by the reaction they got from the people they helped. >> appreciation and total gratitude. everybody has said "thank you,," and wished us a nice holiday, which is really special. >> reporter: samaritan house is doing another shop for free day next weekend and two more leading up to christmas. in san francisco, jan sasaki, ktvu channel 2 news. there are a lot of bay area charities looking for volunteers as well as donations. if you would would like to help, be sure to log onto our website ktvu. .com. a gravel spill has been cleaned up after snarling traffic. the highway patrol says a big rig carrying a load of gravel was traveling on the upper deck of the bay bridge when it spilled some of the gravel onto

the roadway. the chp had to shut down three lanes while crews cleaned up the mess. all lanes were re-opened around 8:30. east bay residents with unwanted prescription drugs inhir medicine cabinet got rid of them today for free. the castro valley community action network organized a medicine dropoch. the goal is to properly dispose of expired medications unto deep the drugs off the streets and out of hands of teenagers. organizers say one in five teenagers has abused predrugs. >> oxycontin, the other dangerous drugs that people typically like to use. >> local law enforcement was there to handle controlled substances that must be disposed by the drug enforcement administration. in the first half hour alone today, 25 bottles of controlled substances were handed in. cv can held a similar event in may where 300 pounds of

medications were collected. summer vacation has been pushed back for redwood city. it's adding six days of instruction to the school year and classes wrap up june 9th. six school days were cut due to a lack of funding. once funding was increased for school districts, redwood city administrators and the teachers union agreed to add the six days of school back in. well it looks very wild, but those in the know say there is nothing to fare from the hundreds ever jellyfish that turned up at san francisco's ocean beach today. take a look at this video. a spokesperson for the golden gate national recreational area say the jellyfish pose no harm and do not sting. it does happen periodically and biologists say a saliniate increase can cause the jellyfish to raise to the surface and get pushed to the

northeast and that typically increases the fire danger. with the recent rainfall, that is fully helping us quite a bit. so we do not have any red-flag warnings. temperatures today, we warmed up nicely. look at the 80s and a few low 80s to report. san josi, 75 degrees. as far as the wines, some recent gusts over the past couple of hours, mount hamilton, winds gusting to 52 miles per hour. mount diablo, 47 and the oakland hills combusting to right around 20 miles per hour. here is a look at that wind advisory for the north bay hills and east bay hills until 10:00 monday morning. up above 10,000 feet, would he could have gusts on either side of 50 miles per hour. clear skies, a bit of a breeze out there. warming up for your sunday. the extended forecast, a cooling trend. as far as temperatures for tomorrow, they range from the 60s to the mid to upper 70s and
