i'm tori campbell. >> i'm dave clark. >> it's tuesday, november 2 3rd. we have a lot of weather to talk about this morning. let's check in right away with steve in the ktvu weather c enter. >> thank you, dave and tori. we have not that much rain anymore. we're windy. the cold will be the big story for us. up in the sierra, it's snow and front and center up there. it's gusting 30, 35 miles an hour. tahoe city just got a report from tony in santa rosa, i believe. he sent me a picture of his truck, which has a couple of feet of snow over it. he just got out of there. you won't move very far up t here. for us, the cold air is getting closer and the temperatures will be extremely cold for this time of year. and we've had some rain but sal will have an update on how that is affecting traffic. >> it looks like it might rain any time at the toll plaza. this has been a l ighter-than-

usual week. we have a big backup at the toll plaza, which incidentally, would be much worse if this were not a short week. this is a live picture of 80, which is in the sierra. it's completely crowed because of snow and blizzard conditions. you can't get through on 80 from about applegate to the state line. highway 50 you can get through but you need chains from four miles east of plas -- of p lacerville to meyers. put those chains in the trunk. they do cost about $0 $50 -- $ 40, $50. you can have someone put those on for you. beef's had some problems in the east bay. claudine wong has is a live report. >> reporter: i'm in san leandro by 150th avenue where there were reports of a couple of
8:02 am
accidents and roadway f looding -- flooding. we want to show you the video of what the flooding looks like. we just took a picture. it's not dramatic. it's all of it -- all of it is going into the fourth lane of traffic, which is what the earlier report said. chp drivers said they called it in because they were concerned about it. so they did call caltrans in. >> i don't have an estimated time of crapts coming out to take -- time of caltrans coming out. >> reporter: there were also a couple of accidents out here u nrelated to that roadway f looding but the chp says they were related to people driving too fast in the rain and with the wet roads. you can see they did have to change a tire to get that car out of the way. right now, things are clear.
8:03 am
caltrans has not arrived at the site of the flooding to clear the drain. we can tell you there have been accidents. we were up near one earlier. those were multiple-vehicle accidents that have been c leared. the chp is add vi zing everyone to -- advising everyone to slow down. it's gonna be another busy day at bay area airports. the security lines have been getting longer. luckily, we haven't seen too many flight delays. kraig debro is live at san francisco international airport right now with all of the details. >> reporter: good morning. flight delays very limited. about a half hour ago, there were three airports back east in delays. now there's only one. as you look at the security line going to terminal 1, not
8:04 am
very long line. but back east weather conditions could mean delays for bay area travelers. so far the overnight and morning rain has not slowed take-offs and landings here at sfo. united, delta and american are not reporting any significant delays. we're getting words of 16 m inutes to 30-minutes at charlotte's douglas. the warnings in la guardia has been delayed. snow is forecast for the d.c. area. security concerns could cause a whole other set of problems for some, not everybody. >> we just experienced it. >> if there is an option you would rather be scanned? >> yes. >> why -- what's your issue with it? >> it just -- it's invasion of space. >> too cress?
8:05 am
>> yeah. >> if there is another option, you should take that option. >> this is the kind of intrusive search of which this woman and others have called intrusive. the tsa agent are yous their hand between the women's breasts before the search is done. the men submit to similar searches. in these cases, the tsa getting uncomfortably crows to the man's crouch and buttocks before l etting them go. there is a protest over what some people perceive as the intrusiveness and that protest is playing for tomorrow. no weather-related delays here at sfo. later on that could change depending upon the weather back east. >> in washington state they are dealing with what they are c alling first severe storm of the season. it's 21 degrees right now. the winds gusting up to 30
