night's drive by shooting may be gang related. police officers from san bruno met with their south city counter parts late this afternoon. there are reports the shootings may have been the result of a feud between a san bruno and south san francisco gang. investigators described the suspects so far only as three latino males in their late teens on 20s driving an early 2000s model brown chevy impala with tinted windows. in san francisco, police tonight say they are searching for two men who used a stun gun to rob two women in the balboa terrace neighborhood. police say around 7:30, two women were in the car when the men opened the car doors and demanded money. when the women refused: the men stunned that woman with their taser and took their wallets. investigators were on the scene of a nasty accident near the ice center in san jose. a red honda crashed in south tenth street early this morning. officers say the male victim in

his 30s was ejected then hit and dragged by a passing car. investigators say the honda was speeding before it crashed into a utility pole and a tree. san jose firefighters say a medical emergency caused a driver to lose control of his car and crashed into a dental office this morning. the driver was alone in the car and a woman in the office were hospitalized. they are expected to be okay. the building remains closed while the building is checked for structural damage. the man accused of shutting down traffic on veteran's day will go on trail february 4th. police say 52 craig carlos valentino was distraught ability about his marriage and was suicidal. he faces charges for child endangerment because his 16- year-old daughter was with him. the judge set the trial date

this morning. there's a push to ban raves at state owned buildings. while everybody agrees that something has to be done about the safety of raves not everyone is happy with the plan that's on the table. ken pritchett is live -- >> reporter: for now you won't see raves here at the cal palace. it was events like that, raves here and state owned venues. which some critics say is too broad. two people died at the cal palace this spring. several people were hospitalized because of drug over dose. >> no child should be dying, one child is too many. >> reporter: the legislation is supposed to ban raves where local cities can't deny venues

for those events. the ban would include a party with prerecorded music lasting more than three hours. >> it's wrong because it specifically targets a style of music. that's discriminatory and against our legislation. >> reporter: he says a ground swell of youth are ready to oppose it. >> the community is very upset and there's a lot of organizing going on. we won't sit quietly and let this legislation discriminate against us. >> reporter: ma agrees the legislation will need to be modified but says something must be done. >> i know it's bold, it's bringing a lot of attention to the issue but i think that is what's needed. it has gotten to a level that

it is out of control. >> reporter: this new legislation has just been introduced. it's set for a hearing at the capital in february. ken pritchett, ktvu news. today gavin newsom refused to sign a hire ordnance. so far there's a faith agreement. mayor newsom is sending the ordinance back for more review. the san francisco 49ers team will stay in san francisco likely for the next four years. a tentative deal reached by the niners and the mayor newsom allows the team to leave in

2015. the deal still needs to be approved by the board of supervisors. jerry brown's budget cuts are hitting the state's lobbying groups in washington, d.c. the director of the state office tells the sacramento bee that it has cut the budget. earlier this month we brought you the story of a school in san pablo that was in the verge of closing at the end of the year. many families were devastated. tonight there could be new life for that school. rob roth has been following this story since the start, he joins u now in san pablo with the latest. >> reporter: the gates here remain locked until after winter break, for a while it

seemed they would remain blocked. but we've learned that the school will not close after all. >> i thank god for that. yeah. i thank the lord for keeping this open. this school. >> reporter: two weeks ago, officials were making plans to shut down lake school. and the city of san pablo said it could no longer afford to chip in the $300,000 a year to run the school, that was then, this is now. >> there's promising discussions going on. yes, very promising. >> reporter: today charles ramsey gave each other a congressional hug in front of the school. part of the solution will be to grant the school along with another school near by. >> especially here in a poor

neighborhood, that was going to be really devastating and the impact to them, that people came together and found a way to make it happen. >> reporter: parents have pleaded with officials to find a way so their children wouldn't have to travel far to attend overcrowded schools. >> if they send these schools to other schools, you get theover crowding and that's not good. it could lead to problems. >> reporter: the san pablo city council is expected to take up the matter in two weeks. but officials are hopeful the doors of lake elementary will remain open next year and beyond. rob roth, ktvu channel 2 news. this has been a busy get away days for last minute holiday travelers. some travelers at the oakland amtrak station say the economy forced them to drop more elaborate vacation plans, they are headed to california destinations instead. the holiday travel rush through airports was expected
