is going on there. >> reporter: they have detonated a third one now. three or four since this all started. interstate680 is running. let's look at video from earlier today. it's the state bureau of narcotics enforcement has been doing some sort of investigation since 11:00 this morning. during that investigation they came to affordable storage. they found a woman inside her unit: they took her into custody. they found pipe bombs in affordable storage. so far they found about five part-time bombs according to the manager of affordable storage. since then they've closed down 680 southbound. while they detonated the bombs, they closed the air space over the area. if you're expecting your loved one to come home, this is what is happening, they are stuck in

patted down all passengers. they found two replica guns on two passengers, they were taken into custody. the contra costa district attorney's office reviewed the case. summers told police he had driven off because he believed he had only hit a dog. a bank robbery in fremont today led to a chase that ended with a crash. police say they chased the suspect's vehicle through fremont, union city and then hayward where the car crashed into a power pole. investigators say two men were arrested at the scene of the crash. a third man ran off but officers later found him hiding in a dumpster. a stolen funeral earn contains the ashes of tomas gonzalez is prompting his family to offer a $10,000 reward tonight. authorities say thieves broke

weekend's incident wasn't the first of itself kind. >> there's incidentally an intent before they broke in and got the urn. >> again that was paul chambers reporting. we contacted oakmont memorial park but no one there would talk to us on camera. state health officials are warning consumers about a candy bar that has been found to contain high levels of lead. the candy is called nuclear bar under the name toxic waste. any children or pregnant women who have consumed the candy should get in contact with their doctors. -- with the clock ticking

and a march deadline, members of the state senate is taking their annual retreat to discuss governor brown's proposed cuts. >> we think it's important to get together for two days, we talk about our priorities and that we continue to come together on how to come together on the fiscal situation. the county chamber was closed today. governor brown has set a march deadline for lawmakers to reach a deal. and the governor met with lawmakers. governor brown has proposed slashing 1.4 from the university of california, cal state and community college systems. today education leaders offered ideas on how to cope with those cuts and berecruiting more out of state students -- and by

recruiting more out of state students. america's cup investors have already been touring the area on where to build. and for dozens of port tenants, that means they're going to have to move out. tom vacar is looking at what some are calling evictions. >> reporter: firms and government agencies will have to find new digs as america's cup digs in. one man insurance agency has been housed in this building. >> for a small boutique office like ours, i do pretty much everything. so to have to relocate that is a huge task. >> reporter: he has perhaps only to the end of the year and knows that affordable, long term waterfront office space is hard to come by. >> you never know what's available, and you never know

than expected earnings report today. one day after ceo steve jobs announced plans that he plans to take a medical leave of absence. the cupertino based giant says it's net income rose 78%. apple also reports first quarter net income jumped to $6.43. $6.43 a share. and revenue hit $2.6 billion. and ktvu.com has more information on steve job's medical leave, including who will take over in his absence. just click on the economy watch tab. >> charles shwab corporation today announced it's fourth quarter profits fell. the company said it's income fell 27% but without the

settlement charges, schwab says their profits actually rose. it was an update on wall street. the dow reported gains of 60 points. it's highest close since june of 2008. the nasdaq was also up adding more than 10 points to close at about 2,765. an uninvited house guest. coming up, the damage done by a deer that broke into a castro valley home. and the new rules that could change how quickly you get an appointment at your doctor's office. a precarious solution, why the solutions homeowners are seeking along this creek may not be that simple. and we'll tell you where the fog will densest and most difficult to drive through.

okay, check out these pictures we're going to show you here. it happened in castro valley, a deer crashed right through a front window. john stockweather he guided the animal out the front door throwing pillows and yelling at it. his wife says it's a good thing they were home because the deer could have demolished the place. if you've ever had to wait two weeks for a doctor's appointment. as of today hmos are under strict new rules. john fowler investigates what it means to you. >> reporter: 21 million californians belong to hmos. many have nightmare stories. >> as far as seeing a

neurologist or any doctor it's two months. >> reporter: now patients must get a primary care appointment within 10 days. a specialist within 15. >> it's still nowhere near where we need to be. >> reporter: some health care professionals say this is california being a nanny state. that this is micromanaging health care. others say these regulations are needed and reasonable. >> that a patient wants an appointment should be seen within a couple of week. there's a certain anxiety of going to a specialist. >> reporter: primary care pediatrician michael lenoir also a breathing specialist agrees with the change. kaiser permanente and blue shield all say they are

prepared. >> now it's going to be better than it used to be, that's good. >> reporter: hmos have a year before any fines begin. john fowler, ktvu. democrats here in california are working to promote the health care law. they are staffing phone banks for people to call their lawmakers urging them to support the law. in a news conference in oakland, a woman who suffers from asthma and depression say she is reduced to tears when her premiums go up. >> what have i done to be denied health care because of preexisting conditions that i can't control. >> reporter: some republicans say the reforms are too costly and could harm the doctor- patient relationship. a repeal vote is scheduled for tomorrow in the house. state water officials say they expect to boost water supplies for california farms and cities next month.

the bureau of re reclamation says that farmers will get 75% of what they request. those figures will spike next month when the bureau announces their official water plans. homeowners are worried their houses are on the verge of collapse. they have asked the state to allow them to bulldoze a path from the river directly to the ocean but they were turned down because of environment concerns. the heavy fog interrupted service at the sonoma county airport. a plane had to be diverted to oakland. the second leg of that flight

was also cancelled. a horizon air employee told us passengers were booked on to other flights. let's talk more about the weather. really foggy last night. over to our chief meteorologist bill martin more fog tonight and will it be as bad. >> not as bad frank. you know we had that early burn off today. and that's going to make it a little easier on us tomorrow. temperatures did burn off, in some places in the 60s. there's fog coverage out there right now. as it moves through it's disturbing the atmosphere and that's what you need right now to change things around. there you see it drop downright there. see it. that's actually an area of in instability. the main focus, it's way up here in alberta. you're basically looking at the tail end of it as it moves through. as it does, we're looking for the fog and low clouds to reform tonight after it passes by. so 3:00, 4:00 in the morning i think we will see more clouds and dense fog. i don't think we'll see a dense

advisory, i think it'll burn off more rapidly. once it does, you're going to have some high clouds in the day. no big changes really. here's the system. just kind of illustrated for you. it'll peel the fog out of the valley down toward sacramento. almost to stockton. then tomorrow night it'll fill back in rather rapidly. but this is good. today was good too. because the fog if it entrenches itself. it gets deeper, stronger, colder, colder. the fact it chewed up today and it'll chew up tomorrow night, that helps the long range for the fog forecast. it'll be tough for it to be quite as extensive as it was two nights ago. the forecast high cooler air in the valleys. concord you will have a little fog when you wake up. santa rosa 62. these forecast highs, not bad for this time of year. 64 in hayward, your warmest numbers are going to be down in the santa clara valley. air quality is a little bitter. that weather system to the

north that mixes up the atmosphere. not only helps fog prevention but it helps the atmosphere clear itself. no spare the air night tonight. that will sort of keep us in this holding pattern really right through the weekend. and you know that cold overnight, temperatures are in the 40s. there's no rain in the long range forecast models at all. i mean, eight, nine, 10 days. but hopefully something will change. >> thank you, bill. pakistanis are checking on damage from a 7.2 magnitude earthquake. that quake hit about six hours ago in the sparsely populated western part of that country. tremors were felt in india. everyone across the persian gulf. initial reports indicate mud homes in the area may have collapsed. within the hour, the walnut creek city council is set to discuss stricter rules aimed at curving late night alcohol related problem. some of the proposals include

alcohol cut off times and a ban on live music. downtown walnut creek has been the scene of several alcohol related incidents. volunteers from various faith communities spent the holiday weekend filling backpacks with a blanket, underwear and toiletries. it was the birth of naval aviation. the first flight that took place right here in the bay area and changed the way wars were waged.

admirers of a daredevil pilot today gathered to honor the first man that landed on a ship. naval aviation began 100 years ago when eugene ealy landed on

a carrier. nine months after that flight ealey was killed in a flight during a air show. i tell you what, doesn't matter what you think of al davis permly -- personally or as the own owner of the raiders. al davis i think is the main reason people wanted to be there, wouldn't you agree fred. >> reporter: absolutely mark. mr.davis just left the team facility here about 5:35 p.m. but his words still ring throughout this building and the entire raider nation. 45-year-old hugh jackson of course was introduced as the team's 17th different head coach, the sixth one since 2003. jackson was offensive coordinator for the raiders. hugh says he's here for a long
