you the swat teams moving out of the areas, this is the building they were focusing all of their attention on where the report was that a gunman had gone into the building. police surrounded it for about four hours, we were over the scene with in 15 minutes of the call. police say they got a call on the nonemergency police line. the caller said a white man about 25 with a rifle wearing all black had entered the school. oakland police evacuated all of the portable buildings near the cafetereia. the swat team came in and just about one hour ago they said they found nothing inside. >> the oakland police team was called out. they responded and they were able to successfully search the building with no gunman found and no science there was ever a gunman inside the school. >> reporter: oakland officials say more than 200 children why led out of schooling over the

course of the -- incident. the child care center next door was also evacuated. we caught up with parents and teachers on the street. and -- back here live you can see the school -- things pretty much calmed down. after being out here it was a pretty rocky four hours, the entire four block perimet er shut off to traffic. people not able to get in their homes and they are proceeding with the investigation as to who might have called this in because they said they found in gunman and no gun inside of the building. good thing though, nobody was hurt. reporting live in oakland, ktve clan el 2news. >> california facing a budget crisis that's real and unfrees precedented. that's what the governor said. ken pritchett is live in sacramento where the governor was very serious tonight and

said lawmakers have to find the courage to deal with this crisis head son. >> reporter: the governor's speech lasted a little more than 14 minutes, relatively short compared to recent years. in that speech he said this is no time for politics as usual. the refrain we have heard before. he said the main issue before lue makers is closing a 25 billion-dollar budget gap and he challenged lawmakers to help pull california out of its free fall. here is a portion of what the governor had to say in his state of the state. >> california faces a crisis that is real and unprecedented. each of us will have to struggle with our conscious and our districts as we hammer out a sensible plan to put our state on a sound, fiscal footing, honestly balance the budget and position california to regain it's historic momentum.

>> reporter: the governor's budget calls for cuts of 12 and a half billion dollars though some republicans say those cuts aren't real, not the ones citied. the governor also wants tax extenses to be passed by voters. to get them put into place the issue would have to go before voters on the june ballot. that would require two thirds of the legislature and that would require republican support. it's not clear if that support is there to put the taxes on the ballot. for a republican response and to ask you a question about if those taxes may be on the -- we have a ten senator,. >> its part of the positive spirit the governor is bringing here. ly commend him on making the budget job one. we need to -- what will make the economy rebound, not raising taxes but letting the economy strengthen by jobs coming back to california. >> the plan is to get -- for

the least in the governor's eyes to get the issue before voters to extend the tax that have expired or set to expire this year. how likely do you think it is that he could get the republican support required to put the taxes back on the ballot? >> i -- it'll be interesting to see if he can get all the democrats to vote for it. the people have spoken the last two elections on tax issues, they have turned down fees, taxes, in november and ney of 2009. we have taken the temperature of the voters on that issue in california and they said no. they are saying for sacramento to get its act in order first. we didn't see much about down sizing government or changing the way it does business women hear about taxes and that's a hard thing for us to concede without reform. >> reporter: thank you for your time. appreciate it. we heard the governor's state of the state here. one thing he did say in the address which we haven't heard him say is be more specific about where the cuts might come from. another 12 billion in cuts

would come from if voter was to reject the tax extensions and he pointed to education, he has not been that specific on the consequences of this tax extension issue that he wants taken before voters. reporting like. ken pritchett. ktv. >> a lot of important programs for people of all ages depend ons what happens in sacramento in the next few months. jim vargas is live where we find that police, fire services and programs for people of all ages are all connected. >> reporter: we are at the senior center here in daily center where 1900 people are served. what we are finding out is that many locals think the state should send more money with fewer strings attached. people come to the senior center to keep active and healthy. the city spends four and a half

million dollars. the town has cut library hours, a new museum only open a few hours a egg and officer freezing wages and not filling jobs for the police and firefighter the support for senior centers drying up. >> many people playing cards, to play cards here and then this do sewing and all kind of stuff here. >> reporter: the city manager said last year toes for youth programs were raised with a undesirable effect. >> unfortunately with the increase that were necessary to keep the programs we have seen the participation in those areas drop. >> reporter: all the senior wes talked to they say they are not expension eve but that's why so many can enjoy them. >> if --. >> we only pay $3.50 a meal but -- if it went up to six or seven dollars i don't know. a lot of people would drop out. >> reporter: one man says these

programs keep people healthy and cut on health care costs. >> center i don't know about the others, is very cost effective for the city and the state. >> reporter: after successfully creating jobs and increasing the tax base through redevelopment projects like pacific plada the city manager said the state should let local officials decide what's best for their neighbors. live, jim vargas. >> there are new developments in the up rising in egypt. the vice president offered to open talks with leaders of the protest. the announcement came shortly after the army said it wouldn't open fire on demonstrators. a huge protest being dubbed as a march of millions is planned for tomorrow as well as a general strike. demonstrators have been calling for the president of egypt to resign. at least 97 people have die. the turmoil created a

travel nightmare for international tourists. so far it's had little impact on travel to and from the country by san francisco airport. we found nobody arriving from either germany or dubai the two most likely connection pint points egypt. michael ackerman who heads travel marketing for the aaa said tour operators are heeding the state department's high level travel warning. >> for people about to go to egypt they are offering refunds or the opportunity to take a tour at a later date. >> we were told a flight would arrive tonight with a group from berkeley who left egypt yesterday. >> a deadly shooting in a shop at fisherman's wharf may have been caused by an argument. it bass a rage killing involve involving a fued between two tourist shops. a merchant allegedly walked into a neighboring shop and shot two employees to death.

designs today with some colors aimed at females. >> most of the pink ones are toward the breast cancer awareness. >> reporter: there are downsides to it. >> certainly a kid finding a pink gun will think it's less of an issue than a gun that's black and men acing looking. >> reporter: the guns sold here don't compare to some of the ones that have law enforcement concerned. >> we are getting the safety bulletins to be on the look out for gun that look like toys. >> reporter: these are the ones that a police chief is talking about. real guns and rifles painted with what's called duracoat. >> especially at night when you can't see much any way it just adds to the danger that law enforcement people come into every day where you don't know what's going to happen and now -- what we thought was a toy is a real gun. >> reporter: the oakland police officers association has been warning members about this threat. >> the only thing i could suspect is if they get in a situation with a police officer

that maybe a police officer will look at weapon and think it's a toy and possibly get the drop on the police officer. >> reporter: back at canyon sports the owner said he doubts the guns a serious threat. >> most criminals spend very little money on their firearms. >> reporter: this warning during a january where 15 police officers have been killed across the united states so it's no surprise they would be wary of any possible threat. ktvu channel 2news. >> the bust a so-called sham university is drawing international attention. the indian government is asking the united states to threat fairly the hundreds of indian students enrolled at tri valley university. federal prosecuters.

. bay area churches taking part in a nationwide event aimed at fighting porn. robert honda tells you why it's scheduled for super bowl sunday. he is live this evening in haywood. >> reporter: fringe i'm in the pull pit of the victory outreach church where on super bowl church the sermon will be about porn. its part of a national game plan. the super bowl brings together many friends and families, some church leader says they get a huge turn out for services before the game.

the so-called xxx church is launching it's nationwide anti porn campaign, important sunday. more than 300 churches signed on, at least half a dozen in the bay area. >> like the elephant in the room, everybody knows it's there but nobody wants to say anything about it. we want to work with all the rest of the churches and come together and begin to expose this especially democratic. >> reporter: the xx church got players to help. some talk about their struggle from easy access to porn on the internet. >> it was a battle. not even wanting to open it, not wanting to check e-mails. >> reporter: a law profess ear said important sunday supporters should walk carefully. >> it's healthy if it spurs national debate on the issues of sexual speech in general. i think it's unhealthy if it then translates in to people believing that just because a lot of people believe that certainly types of sex sheep

desmond tutu appealed for the release of the two men. >> pricing could toe bumping to more bridges. city, county and transportation officials have a now plan to would hike tolls during rush hour. last summer the pricing was introduced on the bay bridge, tolls are now at six dollars during rush hour, four during other times in the day. policy makers who oversee the bay area bridges could consider pricing for the san mateo and dunbar pricing as early as this fall. >> another small quake rattled the east bay. a 3.0 struck at 12:30 a.m. the center was recorded just three miles outside of concord. a quake files -- in count contract costa. at least a half dozen wakes happened on sunday around three to midafternoon. the two largest quakes measured 3.2. all right. whether it comes to the weights we had a dry day but we will

have to get used to the fog that's lingering around for the latest let's check in with bill. >> yeah. nice to have rain this week because we always need rain. this is the rainy season. this week it's a dry onew. dry weather pattern we will start to see more fog. today fog along san francisco's ocean beach. we had fog out toward pacifica and half moon bay. that will linger tonight and then i suspect by tomorrow we will be out of here as the winds start to turn more northeast. that weather system blowing through, it went through yesterday up to an inch of rain and then we get into the morning valley fog. we just passed the solstice. a lot of overnight hours, very cool overnight lows, the winds die down, up here in the napa valley, up towards napa proper and santa rosa the fog settles in. the ground is dry, it's hard to

get valley fog but on a night like this you will have valley fog and we have had it in spades the last few weeks. gusty winds on tuesday. that will clear out the coastal fog but bring in the fog from the inland bay valley. off shore we have weather systems driving to the north but that's nothing for us. look at this, just all stretched out, a lot of flow but it's all going this way. that's a broad ridge of high pressure doesn't impact us. the fog in the valley when the winds -- next couple days we will start to -- it's just pull that fog toward us. the jet stream dries everything to the north. we look at last week. no rain in the forecast, fog is probably the main headline and we will be tracking dense patches of it especially in the north and east bay. the fog tomorrow morning will be little more and then there to wednesday and thursday it'll be a little more and that is because it gets set up in that

central valley and the easterly winds push it out. be prepared for that. the daytime highs -- 50s inland. you will find your 60s along the coast and the warmest places the bay, pennsylvania and coast. 70s in the santa clara valley. we roll in to the week, the fog moves inland, some temperatures like brentwood, 48, 49 degrees on wednesday and thursday for a high. >> the fog could impact the drive. >> yeah in the north and east but not as much as on wednesday and thursday. >> thank you. >> facebook's ceo made a high profile appearance over the weekend. what happened when he came face to face with his hollywood alter ego. >> first alleycat the closing numbers from wall street. the dow -- the dow gained 68
