homicide, suicide? or is it a double homicide. a woman's body was found in hotel room along the 1400 block of lumbar yesterday. billy waterman was reported missiology on monday a vehicle associated with him was found near devil slide. a maid working at a hotel found the body of a woman in her hotel room. san francisco examiners office has not identified the woman. deputies searched the area near devils slide not only the road but the water off of devils slide for about three hours. they called off the search around 9:00 p.m. yesterday. they reopened around 9:30 this morning. we are investigating whether the search resume this morning.

we called the coast guard this morning. they say they are not involved in the search however san mateo county sheriffs of office was doing the search yesterday. we will make calls and find that out. reporting live in san francisco kraig debro. in egypt right now huge numbers of protestors are expressing their anger at president mubarak's continued refusal to step down. take a look at this picture here. many people camped out. two hours ago egypt's military announced mubarak's plan to transfer power to his vice president but stay in office until the election in september. the military statement is another disappointment for those protestors that have called on the military to take action to force mubarak out of office. president mubarak's latest refusal to step down surprised the obama administration.

they indicated they expected his resignation yesterday. after he said he would not leave office, president obama released a lengthy statement saying in part the egyptian people have made it clear that there is no going back on the way things were. egypt has changed and its future is in the hands of the people. this morning ac transit bulls will have an escort in one neighborhood. the bus drivers refuse to drive through the area without protection after that terrible shooting. gunfire riddled one bus. they say violence is a constant problem in this neighborhood and sometimes armed young men take over the bus. >> they will get over a bus and show the operator they have a gun. and depending on what they want to do, they just have their way. sheriffs deputies has agreed to

follow the buses through the troubled neighborhood. these shadow patrols are somewhat shaky. the deputies could be dispatched to another call at one time. one lane of southbound 101 in redwood city is still closed this morning. that is after a motorcycle crashed into a highway patrol car. it happened around 9:30 last night near the holly street exit. one of its officers tried to pull over the motorcycle with two men on board. the driver refused to stop and crashed into the patrol car. the two men were taken to the hospital. one of them died. the officer was not injured. an oakland man suspected in a fatal shooting is on the most wanted list. sullivan and the victims had an argument over an outstanding debt and he shot both men at close range. one man died on the scene the

other is paralyzed waist down. they are offering a $25,000 reward in connection to this case. a judge in san francisco will hold another crucial hearing in the berry bonds perjury case. the defense will ask the judge to block a secret tape recording of bonds former trainer greg anderson. anderson allegedly describes injecting bonds with steroids. he claims the tape is nothing more than hearsay. anderson spent more than a year in jail for refusing to testify. yesterday the defense scored a big legal victory when federal prosecutors dropped six of the 11 counts. prosecutors retained their central accusation that bonds lied to a grand jury in 2003 when he denied knowingly taking steroids. bonds has pleaded not guilty. his trial is to begin march

21st. the former owner of a palo alto bar faces 20 years to life in prison. he strangled jennifer in october of 2009. then they say he it will their home on fire. prosecutors say the couple had a history of domestic violence. he is scheduled to be sentenced in april. in san jose william lynch will attack a priest who he claims molested him when he was a young boy. he will be tried on felony. people staying in a homeless camp in concord will soon be kicked out. they live in a tent city next to highway 4 next to buchanan airport. cal tran cleared brush and told campers they have to leave.

the campers are trespassing on state property. the people we talked to say they don't have a lot of options. >> i had to quit my job because i had to take care of my mom. i have been stuck ever since. i can't find work. >> now there is a homeless shelter a mile away but dogs are not allowed. that's a problem for many homeless people. homeless shelter workers say they are working to get the local animal shelter to allow people that are homeless to temporarily house their animals there. this morning the santa clara county vector control plans to do an aerial spraying for mosquitoes. new chicago marsh, and zanker marsh. they are trying to reduce the number of a particular kind of mosquito. they are called winter salt marsh mosquitoes. while this type of mosquito

a powerful gas pipeline explosion has rocked an american community. the latest blast happened last night in southern ohio. that explosion just east of canton ohio sent a ball of flames. you can see in your picture was strong enough to shake the ground. fortunately it was in a remote rural area and no one was hurt but investigators are still looking for the cause. now this explosion comes just one day after a similar gasline explosion in neighboring pennsylvania. the coroner now says five people died in that home explosion wednesday night in allentown, pennsylvania. the victims range in age from a four-month-old boy to a 79-year- old man. a leaking gasline is being blamed far explosion that leveled two homes and started several fires. people in san francisco don't want to see an outside as the cities next police chief. it seemed to be the consensus

at a public hearing. instead residents and officers are lobbying for someone within the department who will last long on the job. >> odds are things will get resolved better. promoting within the department will help moral because it gives us a sense of feeling. >> officers also say the department needs consistency. former chief george gascon came from mesa, arizona and lasted only 18 months before being named district attorney. there are two more issues on the table. san mateo county labor and business leaders are responding to san francisco's recently adopted local hire law. they almost announce plans to broaden the guidelines on who can work in the public works projects. supporters of jerry hills bill says the focus needs to be on creating jobs regionally not

just city to city or county by county. san francisco local hire work covers construction work and other projects. there is a push to ban one question found on job applications. it's the one that asks if the perspective employee has been convicted of a felony. at least six states and 26 large city and counties including san francisco have banned that question on public job applications. san francisco officials say conviction history only should come up when the applicant is a finalist for a sob. advocates say finding work benefits everyone. >> if people who are coming out of prison can't feed their families, cannot pay their rent, then some of them are going to go back to trying to make money in criminal activity. >> i made a mistake. i'm here to try to improve myself and hopefully somebody will give me that opportunity.

>> exfelons are not eligible for public safety jobs. san mateo county is expecting more tourists this year. the tourism bureau says hotel business was up from 2009 and at 7% increase is expected this year. tourism supports about 17,000 jobs in the county. four million dollars will be spent this year to promote tourism in sonoma. a surprised move by the mount diablo school board has parents demanding answers. >> i answered the question to the best of my ability. >> you answered like a politician. >> parents and students packed a meeting last night at westwood elementary they are upset over the school board president proposal to close the school. silverwood elementary is also at risk. >> these last three years are

worst than the cuts we have experienced in the great depression. >> the school board meets at glen brook to discuss the school closures. a final decision is expected to be made on february 22nd. a san jose good samaritan that received a pricey bill for his good deed is getting help of his own. a san jose house erupted into flames. jeremy fisher noticed the flames and helped out. fisher ended up inhaling smoke and taken by ambulance to the hospital. a week later his wife received a surprise in the mail. >> the bill is $1,847.23. that is just for the ambulance ride. the guy told me there is nothing i can really do. i said i guess that's the price you pay for saving somebodies life. >> the fibbers e-mail -- the fishers e-mailed us here.

now the ambulance company says it plans on taking care of the nearly $2,000 bill. pacific gas and electric is helping some of its customers that have had trouble paying their utility bills. pg&e has made $1.5 million contribution to its own reach program. that program is run by the salvation army and gives to families. customers that need help should bring their bill to a branch of the salvation army. governor brown the move he made that is often expected out of elected officials. a look at the bay area newest airport terminal.

today is the last day on the job for white house press secretary robert gibbs after two years as president obama's top spokesman. he will remain as a democratic analysis. gibb's replacement is jay carney. governor jerry brown is trying to cut costs every way possible yesterday he created quite a buzz when he took a southwest airlines flight by himself no security to address the chamber of commerce? southern california. he chatted with passengers during the flight. brown's predecessor used to travel with a private plane and had a security team. a new terminal at sfo has a new -- it's being hailed as the most modern in the country and

the greenest. >> we saved about 12-18 months after the usual construction cycle and the project is also being delivered under budget. >> the building also has increased natural lighting to save electricity. it features restrooms with recycled water and recharging stations for electronics. the new airport and terminal is scheduled to open april 14th. the transit agency has joined ac transit, bart, cal train, and muni in accepting the cards. you can buy clipper cards from any of the participating transit agencies or at local retailers. it's coming up on 5:00. i want to go back over to sal. how does it look? >> it looks pretty good. on that clipper story next week santa clara vta will be on

monday night. pam. the drive through marin county continues to get less green starting at 8:00 tonight. tree removal crews will remove trees along highway 101 in novato. now that tree removal is being done to make way for a new car pool lane for the northbound and southbound lanes of highway 101. last week crews removed trees on the 101 median. pack up and move out. people living in a homeless camp are being told they can't stay. why one woman says going to a shelter is not an option. police confirm overnight a body found in a local hotel is connected. we'll have a live report from san francisco.
