business leaders from silicon valley. the dinner last night was held at the home of john doerr. ktvu got a look at this motorcade. the guest list included steve jobs and rumors continue to swirl about the -- swirl about the heath of steve jobs. more on that coming up at 7:30. former president bill clinton is also in the bay area. he's scheduled to sweep at a security conference in san francisco this afternoon. there's word that he's barred the press from his keynote address as the r.s.a. security conference at the moscowny center. the-- moscone center. anyone wearing a press badge will not be allowed into the speech, it's reported. this morning you can still see snow on bay area mountaintops from the storm we've had. this is a live look. we're looking at mount hamilton

and home to the navy's fifth fleet. meanwhile, in egypt, thousands have gathered in tahrir square right now, where it's 5:15 in the evening. they are there for prayers and also a victory march to mark the call of long-time leader hosni mubarak. again, these are live pictures of part of the crowd jammed into that square. now, the fall of the president happened one week ago when mubarak announced he was stepping down as president. egyptians are calling the event, the friday of victory and continuation. the military has blocked the main road into the square but so far things have been peaceful. 7:16. shocking new information about who may be behind the shootings of two u.s. immigration agents in mexico. investigator the say the ambush may have been -- investigators say the ambush may have been ordered by a dangerous cartel. they say this is significant because it could mean more attacks on american agents.

is. petaluma police are cracking down on sexual encontinuers in public parks. police say they are increasing patrols around prince, sholenbeg and chesney. police say the vast majority of these encounters include couples who meet in the park and in the bathroom. in about three hours, b.a.r.t. will celebrate the grand opening of the brand-new station. the dublin station will not be in place until tomorrow but today there will be a ribbon- cutting ceremony. it's taken four years and $106 billion to build. 7:23. if you drive the bay bridge, expect new detears by this summer. caltrans will temporarily shift some lanes at the end of may just to make room for the building of the eastern span. now, the changes won't be as dramatic as the s-curve near treasure island.

if everything goes well, the new bridge could be finished four to six months ahead of schedule in 20 -- in 2013. crews will start to unload some of the critical parts of the new bridge's tower. the sections arrived at the port of oakland yesterday. they came from -- they came in from china. but high winds have prevented them from removing the pieces -- removing the pieces. let's check in with sal taking a look, at least starting right now in san jose. sal? >> that's right. we do have slow traffic this morning on 101 northbound because of a crash. northbound 101 at de la cruz turned out to be not as serious as they first thought but they rushed the fire department and

reporting live from sfo, kraig debro, ktvu channel 2 news. pg&e may ask customers to pay part -- to pay part of the tab of the san bruno pipeline explosion. jade hernandez has more on this bill that's getting even bigger. >> reporter: good morning. should pg&e customers shoulder some of the san bruno explosion? shareholders are not being asked to chip in. so we asked customers what they thought. >> if they would have been doing their job first it wouldn't have happened, instead of delaying it. when you ask i want money for such and such thing, if you don't fix it and something happens to it, you're -- it's your mess. so you should have to figure out some way to come up with it. >> reporter: that's just one of the opinions we've heard yesterday and this morning we're learning pg&e is facing a $763 million tab after the pipeline blast last fall which

turned homes into infernos. pg&e has already spent $63 million responding to the blast. the company has also set aside $220 million for lawsuits along with insurance money. and they may have to set aside another $100 million for this year's suit. so now, pg&e may ask state regulators to let the company pass along the blast cost to customers. how much pg&e would ask customers has not been determined yet. but part of the problem is the costs for this year. they are expected to be $00 and $300. this has sparked heated debate. in the last hour, we asked customers what they thought. >> i think this is a bigger event, is it deferred maintenance that should have

good morning. welcome back to "mornings on 2." i'm tori campbell. >> i'm dave clark. >> it's friday, february 18th. well, president obama's brief visit here to the bay area is just about to come to an end. in fact, air force one is due to leave sfo later this hour. kraig debro is out there right now. he's in the midst of everything surrounding the president's trip. good morning. >> good morning, dave. i'm on a media platform here at sfo. i want to show you a couple of things. this is -- we're kind of tight out here. we had to go to somebody else to get you to air force one. secret service agents. there's been a little bit of activity in the past couple of minutes. that's because the president is supposed to be here around 8:30 and then behind me, up on the roof here, we noticed these gentlemen up here about a half hour ago. of course, they are part of the security team. they have their long guns with them. we cannot show you other pair that we see here because we simply cannot move the camera

around that quickly in that direction. now, the president is here, of course, to speak with the ceos of sillily con valley and the -- silicon valley. he did that late afternoon yesterday, taking the motorcade into woodside late yesterday afternoon. there he met with the ceos of several companies. he had dinner at john doerr's house. the ceos of yahoo!, oracle and other companies invited there. in addition to that, facebook and twitter execs invited as well. the president is trying to get those companies to invest in the united states. where the government had to step out, he's hoping the businesses can step in. if you take a look at air force one, you see the pilot come -- pilot coming out of the room there. that's one of the people flying

it's 8:03. this morning you can still see snow on bay area mountaintops from the storm. this is a live look at mount hamilton. mount hamilton is closed at quinby because of snow and ice. sown helena, the chp closed the road after several accidents and spinouts. the roads will be closed until tomorrow. many people are driving up to the area for the weekend. but getting there won't be easy. it does look pretty out there. >> reporter: it really is beautiful out here. it has not snowed at all in the last hour and a half. it's making things for drivers here. within the last 20 minutes, we found out that caltrans has moved the chain inspection checkpoint. it had been -- we're at i-80.

there are some trucks and buses pulling over to get a head start on the inspection checkpoint. now the checkpoint is three miles east where we're standing at the baxter exit. as we said a minute ago. >> the driving conditions appear to be good, cars are -- trucks are moving along at a pretty slow but steady pace. chains are required for all vehicles, including -- except to those with four-wheel drive. that starts from the back ter exit up to the nevada -- baxter exist up to the nevada state line. earlier this morning, there was light, fluffy snow coming down on the interstate 80. the snow stopped about an hour and a half ago. while there are not reports of spinouts or accidents on the stretch of highway, we checked with the chp at the truckee office. they say they haven't any problems ear this morning. one of the -- problems here

>> i'm paying for it twice. if they would have knicksed this, it -- fixed this it wouldn't have happened. >> i want to live in a safe environment. and if he are -- i think it's fair and we should share the burden. it's been a benefit for all of us in the state of california to be able to have our gas and electricity and that. so i really think it's fair for the citizens of california to help. >> pg&e is facing a $763 million tab after the pipeline blast which turned homes into infernos last september. pg&e has already spent $63 million last year responding to the blast. they set aside $20 million for lawsuits along with insurance money. but now pg&e may ask state regulators to let the company pass along some of the costs too customers all over. how much pg&e would ask has not been determined yet. part of the problem is the

travels with the president. there's so many different court pants with an air force --ments with the air force one. it's really fascinated. and that's where you will see the media -- they have their own offices there. >> there are offices. there are sleeping areas. there are dining areas. security areas. computer areas. when you see -- look at the bottom, under the cockpit you can see the size of the plane, how tiny you are standing next to the airport. look under the -- i see our camera is zooming in. you see how small -- this is not any ordinary plane. it feels so gigantic when you are in it and walking up the steps. you see they are ready to clear the area for the president. >> he was in and out of there very quickly. >> i'm sure that when they are ready to take off.

they will take off. >> and kraig showed us how the sharpshooters are all over the area. you see some of them, you don't see all of hem. ed a there's always -- there's always a fighter jet that's fairly close in case they need to scramble them. it's quite an operation whenever the president is around. i had joked. some people may remember then president clinton sat on air force one for a while and sfo -- on sfo getting a haircut and that cussed a lot of de -- caused a lot of delays an -- delays. another look at the back of the plane, where, as dave mentioned, members of the media that follow the president around go wherever he goes to report on his activities. also members of the white house staff and other security people i'm sure getting on not -- on to the back of the plane. >> obviously. and traffic in the area will slowly get back to normal.
