with scarred siding. the intensity of the fire that caused this damage and forever changed this neighborhood. >> reporter: the home video provides a never seen before look. they provided the video which shows flames leaping into the air. the video also includes another angle, natural gas spewing from the crater and you can hear the sounds that has haunted so many neighbors. >> still stressed by it. we take the dog for a walk all the time around the neighborhood and i don't think the dog even likes walking through the fire area. >> seems like a long six months because so little is happening. >> they live around the corner from the crater and calls it depressing. >> if you stand here and look around right now, things look normal. looks like it did on september

recovery. california, the first state to reach a $4 price for a regular gallon of gasoline lien. aaa puts the national average price at $32.52 a gallon. in california that is $3.92. 51 cents higher than a month ago. california requires to fight air pollution, gas prices are always the highest in the country. one of the new polls, american's view of the way things are going hit a two year low. they asked people if they think the nation is on the right track or wrong track. 64% said wrong track. gas prices might be weighing on president obama

approval rating. the poll found the president's approval rating dropped 10 points in one month. the oakland school board is meeting to vote on teacher layoffs. board members will decide if 538 teachers will be getting notices along with 13 social workers and the entire adult education staff. how many will actually get pink slips and lose their jobs won't be finalized till the state budget is decided. the board voted last night to send out the notices. we spoke with the president of the school board, he told us further steps to deal with the deficit depends on whether

stick up. happening at san francisco banks. customers thought they were stuck with a broken atm but it was the work of thieves who set a trap. tonight a warning. ktvu's mike n live in san francisco with the one thing you should do if your card gets stuck. >> reporter: 22 victims across the city. the common denominator is that customers are leaving the machines with their cards in the slot. bank of america, home to three atms and hundreds of customers. >> bank of america, i can use the touch screen. >> reporter: it's the key pad getting customers in trouble. police captain richard. >> we have a suspect that will glue the keys.

negotiations with republicans whose votes he needs to pass his overall plan. >> reporter: the red tents simbaalize what affordable housing will look like. the deadline was tomorrow. >> there is a tiny bit of flexibility always within those dates and you know, i think we may be talking about the difference of a matter of days. >> reporter: democrats are ready to vote on cuts. the hold up is talks between the governor and five republicans. governor brown needs their votes. >> we want to make sure voters have the right choices before them on the ballot if that -- if we get to that point. it's not clear we are at that point. >> reporter: republicans are asking for cutting certain regulations and without tax extensions the cuts will be 25,

not $12 billion. >> we are prepared to do the cuts, period. we are dead set against additional cuts. >> reporter: the vote is on hold, but for how long, that's unclear. depends on the negotiations between the governor and republicans. ken pritchett, ktvu channel 2 news. vollers approved a partial tax measure to fund local schools. the vote shows 28% voting for measure a and 21 voting against it. voters approved a partial tax to fund teacher's aid for music and art programs. voters turned down a similar measure in another district. san francisco mayor ed lee outlined steps to implement the
