started with 58-year-old father daniel is accused of sexually abusing a then 17-year-old girl when he was signed to the san francisco church of the epiphany. >> we're investigating, taking it seriously. he will be put on leave. he's denied the allegations. >> reporter: this man says the allegations surfaced after he applied for a new position and staffers reviewed his files. an investigation determined more investigation was needed. >> we contacted her to determine her age. she was below 17. but it wasn't -- she did not come forward with the allegation. we contacted her. >> reporter: the archdiocese of san francisco tells us that in accordance with the 2002 charter to protect children, it sent letters to hundreds of parishioners disclose egg the allegations -- disclosing the

allegations. >> i don't want to talk about it. i'm kind of surprised by it. >> reporter: the archdiocese says all clergy are aware of the investigation and the rest of the catholic community will be notified through the next issue of its weekly newspaper. the father was ordaned in 1978 and served in san mateo, belmont, novato, burlingame and here in san francisco. now, bay area parishioners are being encouraged to come forward. as of this afternoon, there were no new claims. patti lee, ktvu channel 2 news. opening statements began in the murder case of the leader of yusef bey iv. he's accused of orchestrating the murder of journalist chauncey bailey in 2007. prosecutors told the jury bey ordered the killing because bailey was going to write a story disclosing criminal behavior and financial problems with the bakery.

bailey's family was in court today. >> our hearts are heavy as far as our family is concerned. it's not gonna be bring chauncey back but i believe justice will be served. >> antwan mackey, the man accused of driving the getaway van, is on trial. we're told the case could take three months. more than three years after a federal jury indicted barry bonds, the perjury trial against him is finally underway. it took hours of intense questioning but tonight a jury is now in place. rita williams has late details about the 12 people who will be judging whether baseball's home run record holder lied about taking drugs. rita? >> that's right. today may be the most important day in the barry bonds' perjury trial here. picking the 12 jurors and four alternates who will decide whether the home run king is guilty, four counts of lying and one of obstruction of justice when he told a grand jury here more than seven years

ago he never knowingly used steroids. >> we re-- re-- really what you are looking for are people you don't like, it's deselection. >> reporter: about 100 prospective jurors filled out these questionnaires and then today, the judge dismissed one of those potential jurors because of a death in her family and then defense attorneys eliminated 38 more and prosecutors two additional people for such things as strong opinions. here is a sample of answers prospective jurors wrote and spoke in court "don't they all take steroids and lie about it? it's a waste of government time. it's an unfair advantage to take drugs. i think he was singled out as because of -- out because of his race." those people were all cut and then late this afternoon, the judge announced both sides had agreed on a jury, four men and

tripoli has come under a new attack on international air strikes now in their third night. rebels are trying to take advantage and going on the offensive to moammar gadhafi. president obama says he has to go but that's not the goal of these current attacks. the u.s. has filed 150 cruise missiles. this is video from the navy of nighttime operations on an am figurous ship. this-- amphibious ship. the military is calling this operation "odyssey dawn." four "new york times" journalists are now free. they crossed the border in tunisia today. they had been detained by forces loyal to moammar gadhafi. operators say it should only be about a day to bring

be dumped. >> it wasn't a valuable boat. it meant so much to him. it meant the world to him. >> crews also used sonar equipment today to check for any debris. they expect to complete their survey of the harbor by tomorrow. to the north now, the data is in from cleanup at the crescent city harbor. authorities say about 800 yards of debris have been removed from the inner boat base be. crews identified 15 sunken vessels. they say 47 vessels were damaged but stayed afloat. one vessel had to be removed and one remains grounded. crews also deployed a protective boom to minimize harm. lawmakers are asking if we're ready similar to the one -- if we're ready for an earthquake similar to the one that just devastated japan. seismologists say a 9 poi earthquake could cause a 30-

foot tsunami off the coast. >> there's a 63% chance in san francisco of a northridge earthquake or a larger striking. >> jim vargas attended the hearing. on the 10:00 news, he'll look into whether the power plants are ready. a field poll asks californians how they think the new governor is doing. 48% responded said they approve of how the governor is handling his job. 21% said they disapprove. 31% haven't formed an opinion yet. the same poll found only 16% approve of the job the legislature is doing. >> let your legislators know. would you like the chance to cast this boat or would you feel it's appropriate to shut out the people of california? >> that's governor brown's request for voters in his first youtube video since taking

four oakland police officers were shot and killed two years ago today. tonight we have new information about the shooter that you will see only on 2. ktvu's live with more in oakland. >> reporter: we know that he died but he was not high or drunk on drugs. nobody from the oakland police department wanted to talk on

camera but they think he finally decided that he didn't want to be taken alive. a memorial honored the last four faces added to this wall. >> this is to remember on march 21st and to let them know that we do not forget. >> officer down! >> reporter: two years ago, lovell mixon shot and killed officer dunavan and john hague. and then killed officers romans and daniel sakai. >> it bass like a really -- it was like a really dark way. now mixon's report reveals he had no drugs in his system and only a small amount of alcohol when he killed four officers. mixon was wearing two pairs of pants, and two socks a possible quick change of clothes as a fugitive parolee linked to a

doors down the hall were open. >> hopefully the public can help us catch somebody who doesn't have respect for a church or a school. >> church officials say they believe the thief was after sunday's collection plate. >> this weekend's storm left boats high and dry along richardson bay. the coast guard says about a dozen boats like this one wound up stuck along the rocks of the shoreline in tiburon. all roads into yosemite are temporarily closed tonight after the weekend storm dumped snow, and -- and brought down trees. robert handa is live with more. >> reporter: for the next hour, people who were visiting the park will be escorted out. so many of the people who came

up here to highway 140 will find themselves going back the other way much sooner than they expected. this is what people who came today -- would came today saw, the storm alternating between intense rain and heavy snowfall closed park officials to close the entrance because of fallen trees inside and outside the park as well as rockslides and mudslides caused by the heavy saturation of water. visitors were escorted out in groups but some people with big plans never got to check in. >> it's our anniversary in. we came to camp in the snow, night out. didn't quite make it to the

berkeley has finally been cleared. the roots cranked the gas line right out of the -- yanked the gas line right out of the home and the tree fell prompting a three-hour evacuation throughout the neighborhood. this is scotts valley on nelson road near sky meadow lane. county officials tell us about 20 homes are impacted and at least 40 people are stuck on either side of the 200-foot slide. the slide happened about 10:00 this morning but residents say the rocks continue to come down this afternoon. county has sent a geologist to the area to assess the area. we'll continue to monitor this and bing you -- bring you any more information. onto the weather now. a really rainy, stormy weekend. kind of a break today.

let's find out what's next from our chief meteorologist, bill martin. >> you don't need a geologist to tell you the hills are saturated out there. that's one of the concerns we have moving forward. the occurrence of possible mudslides, because the hills are saturated. there is a lot of snow in the action. most of the action is up in the lake tahoe area. have you a snow advisory up there. we have a couple of weather systems heading our way. we already talked about it on tuesday night, wednesday and then into thursday. they are both pretty strong. so that -- by the weekend that could be 4 inches more of rainfall many coastal hill locations like scotts valley or ben lomond. overnight lows tonight, the weather system now tracking it all, as that system gets close

her -- gets closer to us. this will get in here tomorrow afternoon. tomorrow afternoon's commute looks like there's a chance to get wet. tomorrow night, the clouds increase, maybe a few sprinkles show up. the system settles in over us and it just sort of stays in this wet pattern into thursday. right now, wednesday's system, this is what we'll call this next system because it's overnight into wednesday. tuesday/wednesday looks pretty strong. thursday asystem, wednesday night into thursday looks real strong. computer models do this. some scattered showers but the morning commute looks fine. late in the afternoon, you see this, is what we're tracking. that's the real deal. that gets in here tuesday night on -- right on the afternoon commute along the coastal and north bay section. inland valleys may not be as
